Innova Leopard Round

  • In this video I play 9 holes of disc golf, using the Innova Leopard as my only driver for the round. It's max-weight (175 grams) in Star plastic. I throw it off every tee, a few midrange drives, and some approaches. It's the disc I've had longer in my bag or cart than any other. Despite being well-used, it's the disc I trust the most for hyzer flips, turnover shots, or roller plays. I believe it's the best fairway driver for beginners, novice, and recreational disc golfers, and will have a long life in any bag as an understable fairway driver.

I did NOT expect you to throw that hard. Nice whip!!

Thank you! I can sometimes let it rip with that one. Even though it's a bit less stable than it was brand new. I have a new one that I did a video with, comparing to this one if you want to check it out: czcams.com/video/NSwRN0eVKNI/video.html

I really enjoyed your explanations and backstory to the Leopard. This year, I went from Nukes to the Leopard and improved my game tenfold. The one chart of 225 - 375 is no joke. Last weekend, I had a 398ft Udisc; consistently throwing 310ft with accuracy. For most park courses, like this one, that is all anyone really needs.

The Leopard is easy distance, and is the perfect entry-level driver for someone who wants more distance with less effort. Max weight, premium plastic, is the way to go.

The next round I play will be Leopard only. I use about 3 glow TL in my bag as turnover and hyzer flip discs. Unfortunately the DX glow plastic breaks down way too fast and I need to stop buying so many TLs! The star and champion TL throw like a totally different disc so that’s not an option😥. THANKS FOR DOING THIS REVIEW!

The TL is such a great disc! Mine has been in my bag for years now.

I am starting brand new. I have this in my Amazon cart. I dont understand the difference between fairway and distance drivers

Distance drivers require more power and speed to use. I would avoid using them until you can throw fairways farther. Generally you throw fairways up to 300 feet before trying the distance drivers.

Think of a fairway driver as just a bit of "slower arm speed driver" that you have better control with. If you are brand new I would recommend not going past anything 7 speed or higher for the time being. I would focus using putters and mid ranges primarily even off the tee to learn to throw flat. Putters will show you what you are doing and then once you get form and power you can gradually move up in disc speed! I wish I knew this from the beginning 😂
