When deleting your data from last pass, you can select the first checkbox then scroll down to the last password and shift + left click the last checbox and it will select all of your saved passwords/data all at once. Then from the action tab at the top, you can select delete and it will delete all at once.
Thank you! Someone else commented out that as well! This is so helpful!
@@ShannonMorse Thank you for sharing this video! I stopped using Lastpass ages ago, but never went back in to delete old passwords. So following this video made that process super easy. 😄
👍
Tried tagging but I guess it’s disabled/broken 😅
About exporting: don’t export to a cloud-synced location.
Password management is so important these days. Thanks for keeping us up to date.
Remember that a password manager is only one portion of your precious protection online. Use an authenticator or biometric together with the password manager.
As a LastPass user for 11 years this was very helpful and I have now completed my transition to a new program. This video was VERY helpful. Now to change my passwords in my new program so that any LastPass hackers won't have access. I do intend on doing a periodic backup of my PWs in a file to be stored on a thumbdrive and stored in my safe. If I were to get hit by a bus, my family needs to have access to my accounts and my fear is if it happened at my renewal time, what if they couldn't access my PW manager? Again thank you from one of your newest subscribers.
One last reminder, don't forget to delete that exported CSV file 😂😂.
Thank you for this video! I've been dragging my feet on switching but have been onboard with the idea since the initial breach in November. I just need to square away a day this weekend to start this process. By the way, I remember seeing your content back in the Rev3 HAK5 days; I'm glad to see you still making great content!
thanks for this i have manages to move them all from LastPass to BitWarden even quicker i moved 310 passwords one at a time now i have moved the remaining 176 over in one go and have deactivated my auto renew i have been using them R.I.P 2017 to 2023
Bulletproof your password manager! Add some secret characters to every password and never record these in the password manager. So if your account is compromised the hacker only gets only partial passwords which won't work!!
Thanks for the video Shannon. Protecting your passwords is one of the best ways to protect yourself online. Been dragging my feet on this one!
Thank you so much Shannon. I hadn't watched your videos for some time, so glad I've started watching again.
Great video, Shannon! By the way, CONGRATS on hitting 100K Subs!!! I'm at 146 right now, but you inspire me to work hard to make it to 100K as well. Cheers and thanks for the great info you're sharing.
Keep it up! The hardest part is getting the first 100 subs and you're there already 😁
@@ShannonMorse thanks so much! 😄
12:07 So I figured out you don't have to click on them one by one. click on the first one and then shift click (windows 10 with chrome) on the last one and at the top click actions then delete ( maybe do it in groups if you have a lot). I use the list view top right too for this.
Yes someone else mentioned this as well!
When selecting the accounts to delete them, you can use shift to select them all
Thank you! Yes, about 100 other people mentioned this already in the comment section too lol 😂
This was great! Will be sending this to friends & family. :):)
Great great video Shannon! I'm so much encouraged by your CZcams contents. You're one of the very best, sister.
Wow, thank you!
Thanks for the knowledge Shannon/cool Sailor Moon hoodie.
I do this as well (side quest to checking everything once in a while), but this is exactly why people don't do it or never recheck it. Never rechecking may be safer still of course compared to not using it at all.
Thanks Shannon! I've been meaning to finally ditch LastPass - this video helped a ton!
Thanks! Shannon - This was very helpful/Insightful. Your information as a guest on the 'Think media podcast' with Sean was invaluable. Thank you!🙂
So glad!
Is there an offline or local-network (i.e. on a NAS) roll-your-own Password Manager that you would recommend? I don't need a password manager on the go, but would like to have it as easy to use on local devices via an extension, and I'd also love if it were included in a backup strategy so I don't lose them. I realize that cloud storage is part of the 3-2-1 backup scheme, but I expect what happened to LastPass will happen again to whoever fills in the vacuum and becomes The Next Big Target, so online storage of passwords is looking less like a secure solution and more of a convenience.
Yep, I use KeePass for work, it's an offline locally stored solution that uses AES256 encryption. Best of all its open source and free.
If you are switching password managers now would be a good time to get rid of any logins for websites you don't need or use anymore. If you haven't logged into it in over two years or can't remember the last time you logged in it's probably fine to delete the account from the website.
My LastPass keeps sites with no passwords some kind blank duplicates or it don’t sync on all devices. I’m so ready to get a new password saver.
Thanks very much. I switched last month
Changed last week from Lastpass, been a customer for 3 years
Congrats!!
Nice video Shanon 😊
This is exactly what I’m going to be doing!!!
Would it not be quicker to launch each website to see if the auto-fill does its job first and make a note of which ones have an issue and check those for errors once the original import is done?
sending this video to my mother...
I use awallet cloud.
@shannonmorse really enjoying your videos especially ones on 2fa hardware.
I was gifted some crypto wallets that Ive read can do duty as 2fa keys like a yubikey. The ones I got were from a friend going to a computer security con in LV, a Trezor, and a Ledger. They're the older types not the fanciest new models.
I was wondering if you could do a video on whether this is a good idea. It would be good for me as I have limited crypto to put on these anyway and it would be nice to see these find more use in my day to day.
If you really want to be secure first delete all the data in the CSV file and save it that way and then delete it and delete it from the trash.
Sailor moon !
I love your background music. Been thinking of creating contents in the future and possibly adding some background music to it. Where do you get your's?
Here ya go! It's licensed and you can use anything in their library with a subscription. Music from 🎵 Epidemic Sound: www.epidemicsound.com/referral/wpbzny/
@@ShannonMorse Thank you Shannon!
Do u have any Robo Form discounts? For Premium version? I have Multiple device Android and ISO.
1Password can import LastPass without importing a CSV file
Off to go switch!
It's also good to practice good password hygiene
Great video. What was your reasoning for choosing roboform vs. the others?
Ease of use and form filling is the best in the business. And they're inexpensive ❤️🥳
Thanks for the reply
@@ShannonMorse Excellent info as always Shannon. Learning soooo much. Question: Are you using YubiKey simply as an hardware TOTP replacement for Goggle Authenticator (since RoboForm's 2FA doesn't appear to have FIDO2 hardware key support)? - Thx again and keep rock'n the stellar wisdom dropping! :)
Honest question, what if Delete Me got hacked and you've given them all your personal info to go out looking for?
great video, many thanks for going through this in detail. I'm currently in the process of moving over (finally) to 1passowrd... however it would be good to see a video of background on PMs and who / when they have been hacked in the past.
When exporting from LastPass the created file is .php NOT .csv. How can I fix that? Thanks in advance.
I Think I figured it out. I switched from EDGE to chrome just to do this and it worked! Thanks all.
Lastpass premium for several years, move to other online passmanager 4 years ago, then current got breach also, make me headache, got offline password manager but backup not current.
does the delete account not destroy your sessions? or are those extra steps just for comfort to know it was done?
We don't know how long LastPass stores data, nor what their policies are. Given the recent breach news, I'm more comfortable knowing that I've taken additional steps.
Was there another last pass breach or is this just a follow-up?
The most recent news was about a DevOp home pc getting hacked and his admin acct accessed. I covered it on ThreatWire. that happened last week.
Great video. About clicking each item one by one, a simple Javascript snippet can do the trick at once.
There's an even easier way! Many other folks mentioned it in this comment section
Isn't the whole point of coming up with a password to keep privacy by NOT STORING it on any web-based space (even if its a "password manager"?
@Tradie Trev don't even get me started on that!
@@Breezyaon1 What is your solution?
@@QueenCallisto I personally would say to use a local database, and then have it stored using the good old "321 rule" if that opportunity is available to you..?
✨⭐✨💞💖💞💖💖💞💖💞💖💞💖💞✨⭐✨
*OR you can still "pay" with your wallet, by not opening it in first place... Go FOSS! Haha!
Until next time 😅
@ShannonMorse
Follow up on the LastPass removal: It IS possible to remove ALL items in lastpass at once. Click on the first one and shift+click on the last one. It will select all the items in between and including the selected two :) After that its Actions -> Delete
NO other password manager offers what LastPass does, other managers say they will logon to websites but THEY DONT on 90%, LastPass works Everytime. they have corrected their mistakes and learned..
