this comment is a bit dishonest. Anybody who is even remotley into pc parts knows that SLI means dual nvidia graphics cards and the titan is the flagship card of nvidia. I wouldnt though have had a problem with this comment until you said "you're just looking for problems"

Catnip id keep Dell and HP separate cause HP sucks. They trashed the looks of their Omen laptop and have had notoriously bad reliability.
I've had mine since September 2017. Time for it's second cleaning soon and maybe a storage upgrade. People thought I was crazy spending so much on a Lappy, I say No way. I'm sad that one day it will die and there are currently no new laptops with the awesome keyboard. Mine has the cherry brown. My favorite things are the sound, the speed and the keyboard. It's been a good reliable friend for 6 years soon. Love it. I use it for gaming but mostly programming in emulated retro then running unthrottled to do the impossible for back in the day.

MSI in this situation is at the mercy of component manufacturers. There is nobody in the world making "breakthrough" 18.4inch monitors because they are so unwieldy and ridiculous. Therefore all the technology is going into 17.3's and 15.6's which is why the 17 and 15inch laptops are all making strides in their integrated tech.
The 18inch laptops are all hung out to dry basically with this shitshow of a monitor panel. There is asus with their own custom panel which looks great but its laptop and strange power connectors and how it must be charged and cooled let its performance down
Nah, even a 1080 can't max out games at 1080p 60 fps. I have a 1070 and it drops way below 60 fps in watch dogs 2 at 1080p, probably not that much better with a 1080.
Though to be fair, it'll still run AAA games at max >5 years from now

Probably thinking about future proofing rather than having 4k for a few years and than it gets slow. SLI 1080s in 1080p will last for a decade.
4K downscales to 1080p perfectly though so not the best argument there. Why spend ~$4000 for a laptop to get the same result a $500 pc could do?

there are backpacks with hip support, so the weight goes to your hips rather than your back. helps massively

I had a MSI GT63 many years ago, and at the time it was a freakin' beast! sure it was huge, but I needed a desktop replacement that could game and video edit. which it did with ease.

It can run 3-4 4k external screens iirc. That's why, you might as well just use it as a portable desktop.

finally a review on my laptop :D and as previously stated, it is not portable. the backpack is the quickest path to needing back surgery. but games look good on it, and the double shot pro adapter is a good way to double your bandwidth.

If you get that kind of a device to have portable horsepower for your 4K od whatever home hub, then you wouldn't mind forking out another $100 or so for a better screen. At least 1440p or something. This would widen the targeted market as it wouldn't be portable horsepower with a shit screen anymore.

This is basically a VR rig, where the screen/keyboard is tossed in to make it a quick set up if you want to bring it over to friends. Probably why they skimped on the monitor since it would mostly be used to just do necessary setup and stuff..

mrsuperbuckets because people seem to have dropped the medium for wireless media data transmission. I myself still use ultra HD Blu ray for movies but that might be about it.
I love dropping a UHD blu ray into a reader and immediately having the full movie available to watch, without having to wait on it to download.
Who even downloads movies these days anyways. You stream them via Netflix or something.

Yeah that screen is a real killer for me with to 1070's in SLI you could easily push 4K And I would expect no less than a 120 hz refresh rate. I would love to buy somthing like this but that screen is a no sale for me. Hopefully the next model will improve on this.

It's the modern day equivalent of the Dell Latitude C810. Both the most powerful GPU that they could fit in it at the time, really expensive, really heavy, great keyboard, and both hold high a reasolution display.

On larger laptops it seems that companies just add optical drives because they have extra space and it does make sense a battery too big and you can't bring it on an airplane also overheating
The accessible pipe key is great for when you are a pipe crazy programmer tho :^)
And since games don't often use it you can easily program it to something else too as hotkey.

60 fps is for plebs 165fps+ is achievable now.
if u actually looked at the bench marks, the gtx 1050ti cud hardly manage 60fps+ on max settings on AAA titles eg. rise of the tomb raider. So the sweet spot for 1080p wud be gtx1060imho

I only had the one power adapter - it runs on high fine. I’m only limited by the amount of games on the Laptop - 1 game at a time
It’s one of the best monster laptops I literally stole in regards to price - when I bought it it was still marketed at 2699$. Remember I bought it for 500$
