  • Hi folks. In this episode I will be bringing you along to share some of the information that ive gained through lots of reading and videos on ecmlinkv3. Some of the things that im doing in this episode are reletively new to me and should only be performed AT YOUR OWN RISK and like I said earlier WITH LOTS OF READING in to ecmlinkv3. These are just a few things that ive learned about this program and its many other features. Today we will flash our 98 gsx eprom ecu with 2003 lancer evolution 8 fuel and timing maps in direct access, mess around with maf calibration in mafcomp, and I will show you how I got my aem series x wideband logs to match what the gauge was displaying. Again im still very new to this program and wanted to share what ive uncovered and learned in the past few weeks with all of you in the hopes that it will give you a better understanding of link if your afraid to take the first step and go that route. It is pretty intimidating but if you spend enough time doing your research then its not such a daunting task, it actually becomes pretty fun. Being able to change a plethora of parameters, parts, upgrades and rebuilds using this software to tie it all together to make a pretty sick ride. If you want to share any constructive criticisms or tips with me and the channel please feel free to drop a comment down below. We all learn more when information is shared!!! Thanks for watching and hopefully you found this video informative/entertaining! Take care.

    This video is amazing. Please keep adding move videos like this. Also can you do a video on how to do an open vent BOV tune? How can I tune my car for open vent BOV with V3?

    • @TPGDSM
      @TPGDSM  Před 3 lety +1

      You can't simply tune it to vent to atmosphere unfortunately. You would have to change your maf sensor location or go to speed density. However if you are running a maf sensor (stock from behind the air filter) you can purchase a 3 inch gm maf sensor, some induce/exducer couplings (hardware store sells cheap ones) and either a maf translator or the ECMTUNING gm maf cable (around $80). You would need to install the maf sensor inline with your throttle body approx 12in away from your throttle body and have your bov approx 8-10in further away from that. Having the maf sensor set up in a "blow through" set up where the turbo pressurizes the air through the intercooler and up past the blow off valve through the maf sensor in to the throttle body. That will allow you to vent to atmosphere because the air is only metered between the sensor and throttle body. Essentially the whole rest of your turbo/intercooler system air pressure will remain unmeasured until it passes the new maf sensor. If you vent stock the ECU sees the air directly behind the air filter going into the turbo and thinks that it's still being recirculated but instead its being vented causing a rich condition.

I have the ECM Link v3 and I only got it to get rid of DTCs since I am a 2 G with a 6 bolt it was throwing random misfires. Felt like over kill for it but now I can begin to take advantage of the ECM Link thanks to you. Do you have a Patreon or something ? I ask because I am not sure if you're monetized. Thanks for watching! I'm glad it could help you out! We will definitely be doing more videos in the coming weeks focusing on more of the functionality of ecmlinkv3. I'm starting with a 3 part mini series and will definitely have more to share as I continue to learn and understand more of it's cool/useful features. As for patreon, Yes we do.. We just got it set up over the last few months and haven't promoted it yet. There's a link on our CZcams page and right here ➡️www.patreon.com/Todaysprojectguide
      That's going to be a big project all in itself during the colder months. We will have a lot more content and breakdowns on there as well as new uploads here. We're also on instagram @TodaysProjectGuide. Glad you found some new ways to utilize ecmlinkv3👍👍

      @@TPGDSM what's the load factor? I don't understand it

    • @TPGDSM
      @TPGDSM  Před 2 lety

      @@ElJaviTuning if you look at your speed density table it's broken down at the top from left to right by rpm and on the left side from top to bottom load. This is just the engine load at a specific rpm that the ECU uses to pull fueling information from.

    • @ElJaviTuning
      @ElJaviTuning Před 2 lety

      @@TPGDSM ok but what does mean engine load X rpm table? How do you calculate a right load?

    • @TPGDSM
      @TPGDSM  Před 2 lety

      @@ElJaviTuning you would build a speed density table based on volumetric efficiency. This is done using your datalog screen and logging these values (ve, combinetft, wbfactor and load) you have to watch your log screen and see if your wideband factor and combined fuel trim data is asking for more fuel or to have fuel removed from each one of the load cells. If you have your car started and your wideband on pump gas is reading approximately 14.3-15.1afr you can idle the car for 5 mins, right click the screen and click on "sdVEadjustcombinedft" in the pop up window. This will allow the ECU to make some changes to the speed density table automatically. Click Save to ECU and those suggestions will be saved to the ECU. Then you can drive out of boost around town to create a light load log and do the same process, right click, sdveadjustcombinedft and save... After doing this a few times the ECU will start to build a speed density table. If all of this sounds wild go on to dsmtuners.com and use the search function to find similar write ups and information on this. Also check out Scott laird on CZcams
      He may shed some more light on your specific questions 👍

    2 step is not Antilag. The rev limiter is essentially a 2 step and the Antilag is when the computer adjusts timing and fuel to build boost

    • @TPGDSM
      @TPGDSM  Před 6 měsíci

      Indeed. Since this video I added a momentary switch to my clutch switch which enables rolling or standing anti-lag. Timing gets dropped to -12 degrees, 10% fuel enrichment is added and it builds 26psi at a set 3800 rpm’s. Throttle has to be above 85% as well.

      Set you biss screw, verify boost leaks, verify you have a clean maf sensor, throttle body shaft seals are ok?, no vacuum leaks, properly tensioned throttle cable, iac motor functioning properly, verify tps voltage at idle. Check dsmtuners.com as well as vfaq for tips and procedures to help you out. 👍

    Hello!
    I'm using RaceRender to overlay data into my onboard videos as this one: czcams.com/video/CLmE7eyq6-0/video.html
    RaceRender allows to overlay OBD2 data as well to add gauges as oil temperature, water temperature, throttle position, etc..
    So, I would like to add some more information to my videos using ECMLink data...
    1) is there any way to log the brake pedal and gear position?
    2) Has anyone found a way to export the ECM Link data file into a compatible file with Race Render software?
    I'm using ECMLinkV3 version in my Eclipse 2G GST...
    Thanks!

    • @TPGDSM
      @TPGDSM  Před 2 lety

      Hi there, Im not sure how to utilize ecmlink to log brake pedal or gear position nor am I sure how to add a sensor to be logged using ecmlinks current firmware. As far as overlaying data using racerender im also not sure. I know that you can use microsoft excel to export and save certain data tables to review or "save settings for tunes" in your laptop. Those are some great questions though. I would reach out to @tomdorris at ecmtuning.com who is one of the program developers and creators who may be able to help lead you to some solutions to your questions. Hope he can help you out and thanks for watching!.
