During the Great War, the only way soldiers had to relax was sang songs, they gave them the courage they needed for assalt the enemies' trench. Some of them went viral, and come to the attention of the Kaiser. This one in particular said anything Germans fighted for: their home, their families and their homeland, becoming the National Anthem.

This was never the anthem of the German Empire, it was always Heil dir im Siegerkranz and Preussenlied to a lesser extent. Das Lied dem Deutschen was popular but never adopted as an anthem. Wo Alle Strassen Enden was a very anti-war song and would've probably been disliked by the German government. The origin of the song is relatively unknown but it doesnt glorify war like most marches, it gives you the truth without sugarcoating it. It shows how horrible war is and how it should be avoided, which may imply that its perhaps anti-Kaiser, since after all, WW1 was an imperialist war fought for imperialist purposes.

The German Empire did not have a direct anthem, Heil dir im Siegerkranz was only played when the Emperor was present or at special ceremonies, it is more likely that the song Die Wacht am Rhein was used/that this could be used as an anthem. Incidentally, there is no song called Das Lied dem Deutschen, what you mean is Das Lied der Deutschen, also known as Deutschlandlied.

@@mariusgaming9777 So mal von Gestern Abend wieder Anknöpfen. Der Deutsche Bundestag sagt folgendes: Das Kaiserreich besaß aufgrund seiner föderalen Struktur keine offizielle Nationalhymne. Inoffiziell setzte sich jedoch nach 1871 das „preußische Volkslied“ mit den Anfangsworten „Heil´ dir im Siegerkranz“ durch und etablierte sich als „Kaiserhymne“, die bei patriotischen Feierlichkeiten gespielt wurde.
Also das Deutsche Kaiserreich besaß keine Nationalhymne.

Umm, no disrespect but it never became the national anthem. It's a cool song that was mostly lost to history until a few years ago when a guy found the first verse among his granddad's or great-grandad's things and wrote the last 3. I might be mistaken in that it may have been a relatively common song across the world wars that it was recorded in a collection of soldier's songs in the 50s, in which was sold as part of the album. I'm fuzzy on the exact origin story, either way, it never reached that level of popularity during the Great War. Brandon F. and another guy did two videos documenting the song's exact origins.
