Thrift hall, yay! Let’s see what you found, exciting! You look so pretty and I love the backdrop. The cheese keeper is cool, the lantern idea sounds amazing. Great finds. ❤️

The cheese keeper would be an excellent lantern. Great finds!

You found some amazing items Julie. That cheese keeper is cool, never heard of it either 🤔
Love the ornate frame, I love finds like that.

Hahaa yes I bought that one a while ago and still haven't transformed it because I am just not sure lol. I had to have it just because it was unique

Hey Julie! A cheese keeper is basically a humidor for specialty/artisinal cheeses. You use it to store cheeses much like they do in cheese caves when they are aging them. The wood helps control humidity and the mesh allows the cheese to breathe. It can be kept on the counter, but most use in a cooler temperature, even a fridge.

Hmmm? Thanks! So basically I have no use for it and I should give it a makeover lol

I love that cheese keeper. I googled it and seems they are quite expensive. I would keep as is and use for get togethers to display small finger foods. Loved all your finds.

Hmm? Maybe I could sell it then. I dont have anyplace to store it. But it seems so unique someone would want it.

The glass jar is called hobnail. Great thrift haul!

Great finds! I've been telling Mike I want to go thrifting soon. This motivates me! Yes, leave that white frame the way it is! And I think that glass is called milk glass or something isn't it? I'd totally spray paint it white!

Maybe some glossy black paint on the lanterns in strategic areas would give them the look of enamel.

That was a fantastic haul, I would have loved to be so lucky. We can’t go thrifting here in the UK, all our charity shops are closed (were in lockdown) I can’t see to many re-opening either, a lot of our charity shops are really tiny, no more than about 10 foot by 12 foot, a typical little sweet shop size. So they don’t do really well, but still have to pay all their bills. With no income in over a year, it will be hard to re-open. They can’t put the prices up (not where I live anyway) they were so over priced to begin with. I have seen worn clothes with stains, or buttons missing, or zips broken, and the price is higher than to buy new. Then they wonder why they don’t sell, if you point out the price discrepancy, they become very offended and insist their price is accurate. Oh dear, I’ve rattled on to long. Stay safe xxxxxx

Wow that is sad. I hate seeing anyone have to close their business. There will have to be somewhere for people to put the things they don't want anymore. Maybe new places will open up after quarantine.
