@jonathandillon2100 because either way - "left" or "wrong" - are technically correct. You are strictly guessing which one is up on the board and you have 50/50 chance.
@@rgl168 The question isn't which answer is correct, the question is which answer is the most popular. It's not 50/50 chance, if you think about it right/left directions are much more prevalent in your everyday life (politics, driving/walking directions etc) you use and see these words more than right/wrong.
@@BambaLover it's easy for you to do armchair analysis after the fact. But given that the person at the buzzer is only given a few seconds to answer, there is no other context to the question,, and I would even argue that right/wrong is more impactful to human emotions compared to left/right. So to suggest that the contestant should be faulted for answering "wrong" is something I would disagree with.
And please watch the video closely: the guy on the other team actually yelled "wrong" before the girl provided her answer. As such her answer could be influenced by the guy saying "wrong" in the first place. If that guy said "left" instead - under the same circumstances - would she have said "left" as well? It's quite possible.
Both contestants said "Wrong", he just didn't press the buzzer fast enough. He only won because he had a chance to think of a different answer.

There were a few things that happened here that were rare: Both families were tied 258-258 going into sudden death, which is not common, a question with more than one correct answer was asked during Sudden Death, and they had to just guess which one was on the board, and a contestant basically had a second chance at answering a question, which is even MORE rare. If Paul had buzzed in first, he would have said wrong, and once he got striked Aisha probably would have said left, and her family would have won. The Demarkar family is very lucky to have won that game.
Steve actually said to Aisha that she"said the right thing". He knew that question was loaded.

There were 76 people who said Left. I would imagine that 24 people said wrong. It is not which answer is best it's what answer did most of the people use. I asked Siri what the opposite of right was and Left was not an answer it gave. I agree that wrong is a very acceptable answer. I think that it is wrong that the one team won 3 out of the 4 rounds yet ended up losing the match. Not sure what you can do to fix that.
It's entirely fair but undoubtedly stings but at least they don't go into a negative. Nothing needs to be "fixed" the whole point of a show like this is the risk+knowledge+luck aspect otherwise it'd be absolutely boring.

Today is Thursday May 16th 2024 and my favorite show on TV is FAMILY FEUD.

I kinda feel bad for the young lady in the pink outfit. It would've been better if Steve Harvey specified the right he was talking about or spelled it out. After all that word has 3 different meanings. There's right as in true, write as in using a pen or pencil to communicate, and there's right as in the opposite of left.
There's also right as in The Bill of Rights. Don't know what the opposite of that is, though... crime, maybe?

Shocked for what? The rule said number one question, what you thought would be the best answer doesn't mean that other people will think the same, both are good answers but the only valid one is the answer who the people choose the most that's it, there's nothing to be "ashamed".
