Sometimes I forget how great S3 really is. Its ‘80s aesthetic is a lot better than any other seasons. Man, the ‘80s vibes you get from it… can’t beat those ‘80s vibes. If only the plot was better, S3 could’ve been genuinely perfect. It’s just a fun season, that’s all I have to say.

As a long time fan of Koyaanisqatsi, the Qatsi trilogy, and Philip Glass, I immediately recognized it was Glass. He's one of the few composers who uses human voices like this, and his style is very recognizable, if it's not downright unique.
I read that this music is part of an opera that Glass composed in 1979. I'll have to check it out.

I didn't ever heard "Satyagraha - Act II: Tagore" till the 6th episode, and even though after that... I feel that this composition by "Phillip Glass" was a perfect choice for the scene of where it's featured in.

so i just realized a big plot hole with the dialog in this scene. billy says " you let us in, and now your going to have to let us stay" which was consistent at that point as the mind flayer being from an alt dimension now trying to take over ours. but season 4 established that everything upside down was the results of "one" (vecna) and the mind flayer was just another creature under his control. which would mean that billy was really speaking as vecna. but then, our dimension wouldn't be something new to vecna and he would say something like wanting to return or something like that. but they hadn't thought of that when making season 3. this just goes to show you that they didnt really have everything planned out and just kinda make each season up as they go along.
"let us in" to the real world. The mindflayer and all Upside down creatures existed in its own realm before Henry was pushed there in 1979. The mindflayer controlled all creatures until Vecna took control of the mindflayer hence he had controlled everything from the beginning but this scene was in 1985 where gates were closed. It makes sense.

I haven't watched season 4 yet, but yes, Glass composes a unique style of music. His use of human voice is very special.
Prophecies was made for Koyaanisqatsi. You, and everyone alive should watch Koyaanisqatsi. It's possibly the greatest, tonal poem, non-narrative documentary every made about how Western Society is out of balance with Nature. It might be one of the most important films ever made, and everyone ought to watch it.
