Furina isn't the Hydro Archon but we can all agree that Furina is the only thing that remains of Focalors (just like Nahida is what's left of Rukkhadevata) and let's not talk about that absolute dedication/sense of duty trait that characterized both the divine and the human part. Imho, Furina is more of an archon than Focalors. Focalors did Jack shit other than sitting on her god titled ass watching Furina suffer for 500 fucking years doing what was supposed to be *FOCALORS FUCKING JOB*. So in my mind, Furina is the archon, and Focalors is a fucking pussy who just wanted to make her human half suffer alone, with no one to confide in or trust, for 500 years before unaliving herself. The thing is, in the beginning furina and focalor is one. When Focalor decide to separate her divinity(means her personality)from her body and spirits, she leaving behind a non personality body and spirits thus Furina born in order to fill that piece. They are one body and one soul, but different personality. And why she didn't have the shiny hair thingy is because the power of hydro archon isn't on her. But on Focalors, and she gives it back to neuvillete. Meaning that the shiny hair color is a clue that the archon is using their power(Their original power, combined with dragon sovereign power). Then, that's why Neuvillete called every other archon besides Focalor&Furina is A power stealer.
Furina personallity didn't born after Focalors separated her divinity. Focalors describef furina as her previous self before becoming Archon. She said furina is naive as same as we were before becoming archon.

I`m happy for her and also sad that the people of Fontain don`t know what really happened to Furina and Focalor, so that the guilt of Furina will vanish and she can enjoy her life as a human, but Neuvillette will be sad to see his companion Furina, whom his side for 500 yrs just to die of old age, and he will experience the pain that Morax endured. Zhongli had the quest that unlocked Azhdaha. Raiden shogun had the quest that unlocked Magatsu Mitake Narukami no Mikoto Nahida had the quest that unlocked Guardian of Apep's Oasis They all either got added in X.5 or X.6. So following this trend would indicate we'd get Furina's second story quest and a new trounce domain in about 3/4 updates.
I guess her hair doesn't glow not because she's not an archon, but because she's just an ordinary human now. look at Neuvillette or the oceanid (human form) characters that have appeared, they are not archons but their hair can glow. So I think only elemental creatures or god-like creatures have glowing hair
Spoiler alert! We actually found out that she isnt the real archon, she just plays the role of an archon as the real archon do her job. She also experienced the same suffering both Nahida and Raiden did: loneliness. She has to keep up the act because if she became herself, her people judge her for what she is. I see alot of myself in Furina thats why she became my fav character after nahida. I know the pain when you have to keep up the act everyone wants you to be and not be yourself.

Focalors mentioned that to fool the Heavenly principles, she couldn't tell Furina the plan, otherwise they (who were looking at Furina thinking she was the actual archon) would've found out about it. In her words "in order to fool the Heavenly principles, one must fool themselves."
Makes perfect sense why her hair doesn't glow. But will need to do the archon quest and her story quest first for it to make sense. That is actually a really neat small detail on their part to leave that out.

After all the original Hydro Dragon Sovereign was not an Archon either. Celestia created the Archon ranks by stealing the Dragon Sovereigns powers. Besides, Neuvillette, being a dragon sovereign, cannot succeed an archon anyways due to logistical reasons. If he has absolute power over hydro, then he would be considered the hydro sovereign, not an archon; if he truly became the hydro archon, then he’d have abandoned the dragon sovereign’s seat of power, which (Assuming a dragon sovereign’s seat of power works in similar fashion to an archon’s) means that he must be dead as you can’t voluntarily stop being an archon (You can relinquish control over the nation like Zhongli/Venti but no one can take their place as they still hold authority over their respective elements given their elemental abilities). Also, the wiki refers to the hydro seat of power as destroyed and the hydro archon as nonexistent, reducing The Seven to six.

Spoiler ahead Her divine form, or the “real focalors” traded her divinity (and her life) for a vision for Furina while completing her mission (you’ll know what that is in the newest story quest) making Furina no longer an archon therefore no hair glow. Her hair instead simulates glowing like an archons by being bright because she always tried to act as an archon for her people, pretty neat character design. One unique thing about her though is that if you use Furina to jump out of the water she will have a trail of sparkles behind her
Furina changing hair length is absolutely a different level which have 2 forms, the black one " Ousia " and the white one " Pneuma " , and both of em have different elemental skill mechanics is just- PERFECT.
I love her burst cuz it's a stage that only she sees. It's her story, the act affects everyone, the lights shine above everybody, but nobody else knows she's acting. All the world is a stage!

well i didn't do her quest yet, but I already figured it out (at the time I thought her vision is fake till i realized it was shining when her ult is full)
Even on party set up, she doesnt have any special effect unlike nahida who has grass effect below her feet, zhongli with geo, venti with his wind and raiden with electrical purple ish.
That's such good attention to detail- tho if you notice, there is a part of her oiufit that's still "glowing", or at least looks that way- and I love that. I also wonder if lore wise, the reason she's so powerful even as a human and not an archon, is a blessing left over from Focalor or even gifted by Neuvillete giving her her vision. As a way to say, "despite having been powerless the last 500 years, here is the power you deserved", as further compensation for what she endured alone. When she was revealed to be human, I finally noticed that unlike Raiden Shogun/Ei, who like Furina was known as the archon publicly, Furina was never displayed using her powers until she was made playable and given a vision- the attention to detail is amazing: it's also how I started to figure out of Furina was a puppet or not: puppets can have powers, clearly, when gifted by an archon who made them, no vision needed, yet Furina never used hydro. Such a small detail that was easily missed due to the chaos of th archon quests lol. Furina deserves her vision, and her unlimited water walking. She deserves even more then that. She deserves the world. I can't imagine how hard she must have fought... I wonder if the other archons will ever learn of this- and I hope they give her due respect. She deserves it.
why does everyone always thinks Furina isn't the real Hydro Archon? it has been explained in the story that Furina is the Hydro archon (by technicality) since before becoming human, Focalors was one person... then she split herself Her divine self [Focalors] and her Human self [Furina]
They are debating so much, but furinas situation is that she is the very human version of focalor. I love to think that the “divinity” thats left on focalors body is the divinity’s conciousness and not the true focalor whom wishes she just became a human. I believ that focalor wish to become a true human came true when she became the archon by creating furina. Focalor may have not imported her memories to furina as she wants to furina to have no touch of any divinity.
I mean that is true, technically Furina was the Hydro Archon when Furina and Focalors used to be one but after Focalors split her divinity from Furina’s humanity, Furina has become a human. So she isn’t an Archon anymore after Focalors split herself from Furina.
Not everyone has had the time to play the latest Archon quest yet since it hasn't even gotten to the weekend as of time of writing. Also, there are apparently people that skip dialogue.
She is not though. The Hydro Archon no longer exists and never will, that was the point of the Quest. Her hair doesn't glow because she isn't the one who possesses the highest Authority over her Element. It belongs to Neuvillette. And, by the way, I'm not talking about the Gnosis. The highest Elemental Authority, has been stolen from Dragon Sovereigns and given to Archons. The Gnoses are remains of the third descender. The two are distinctly different from eachother. That's why the other nations' Archons still have glowing hair: the highest Authority over their element is still with them.
SPOILERS AHEAD: For people saying "Furina isn't an Archon": Neither is Venti nor Zhongli. Raiden technically isn't the one ruling Inazuma either, a physical vessel is. When you pull for Raiden, her playable unit is the Vessel, not the Archon. The only real playable Archon is Nahida, the rest are either retired and gnosis-less, or don't have a body of their own. Furina is the human expression of Focalors, and guarded over Fontaine for years. She's as much of an Archon as Venti, Zhongli and Raiden's Vessel are. Furina also isn't "a regular human", she's literally a gnosis-free version of Focalors, is not like she was a random girl from a working family, that Focalors found and asked for a favor, lol; she is of divine origin, she is a part of Focalors. Not to mention she does have a vision and is capable elemental manipulation, like the current "Archons" are. It should be clear by now that the story in Genshin revolves around the idea Archons falling one by one, and being stripped of their former glory. Focalors becoming Furina, and erradicating her divine half is in line with this.
Brother, she is 100% human now. She "was" not a regular human before, she was focalors "humanlike" part (remember focalors was oceanid before godhood, then just like oceanid could mimic and breed creatures, she was able to make a humanlike part of her). Then focalors died, furina now is a completely separated entity, a true fontainian human being, free of immortal curse and original sins after neuvilette releases all fontainians from sins (furina's included). Then she acquires the vision, something she actually deserves. Now, compared to our playable archons, they already have the elemental power before archonhood, and what we are playing with right now are their vessels, which are not a separated human entity (unlike furina which is a true human with visions). I agree with the fall or archons idea though.

Focalors split herself into two, the divinity and the human part with her naming the human part Furina. Our current playable Furina isn't archon Focalors; she's a human. I've repeated this several times in other sections: think of it Focalors is the oceanid,, and Furina is the mimic creature. Or closer example, if you plant tomatoes by cutting their stems, new plants would still be tomatoes but NOT the original source tomatoes anymore, there's a possibility that they wouldn't look exactly the same or taste the same either, they would probably have different traits.

Fun fact : I was looking at the character archive and looked on the side where it shows her b-day and desc and job or whatever and where it shows most characters (or in this case gnosis) visions it dosn't show she has a gnosis and same with Neuvillette and his vision so MY theory (prob not true so don't get excited) is that Hoyo wants a little surprise this archon quest and Neuvillette is the real hydro archon and not furina idk tho I haven't played the archon quest and I started playing after the sumeru quest was released so idk if it has happened before or not so I can't comfirn. Just a theory tho and have a nice day/night!
An explanation of sorts (very SPOILERy, so be aware) Furina's hair doesn't glow because she doesn't have the Elemental Authority over Hydro, she never did. Her powers come from her vision only (she was unable to use hydro at all before getting said vision, so it is a fact). Said Elemental Authority currently belongs to Neuvillette, and before was within the Hydro Archon, Focalors. Now, it is very important to note that Elemental Authority is NOT Gnosis. Elemental Authorities were taken from the Dragon Sovereigns and given to Archons. Gnoses are remains of the Third descender and are alien to Teyvat. Which is why the Archons of previous nations have glowing hair: although they gave up their Gnoses, they still possess their respective Elemental Authorities. They are still Archons.

You know when we all git excited cuz finally another archon. But the hydro archon died and we only got her (ideal self but not actually her and is human) I felt like hoyo scammed us😂.. No archon features in visual. No voice lines related to other archons (she doesn't know them😭). In other word its like we just pulled for some other 5star character-like kokomi/nilou. I'm happy with her kit though. She really has an archon type kit that is very unique but when you already know the whole truth about archon quest, it's kinda uh... Idk how to explain. It literally has a psychological effect 😂. Anyways I guess hydro chars (some of them) already possessed some unique skill, (mona-can sprint, kokomi, can walk water even its limited, then here's furina, can switch alignment and can also walk on water) they're already special. Imagine if we really got Focalors. She might be op🤔. No wonder why hoyoverse killed her.

Ive done the archon quest just by now and finally I have the authority to comment here. Furina is not an archon since the very beginning. It is very clear in chapter V that when Focalor split her divinity, the human form “furina” become own individual. Therefore Furina is not an archon. Though she was not an archon, her willpower, sacrifice and kindness undeniably makes her heart of an archon.

Focalor did say that she separated her divinity from her body and spirit which we know who to be Furina. It seems having this "divinity" is what makes the other archons' hair glow.

Focalors is gone for good. She destroyed not only her divine essence but the divine throne that made her a God to begin with. She will live on as a human in Furina, but all that's left is just that -- the human Furina who Focalors always wanted to become, but never could due to her duty as an archon.
There will likely never be another Hydro archon, for that authority was returned to its rightful owner -- the primordial dragon sovereign of water.

The thing is, in the beginning furina and focalor is one. When Focalor decide to separate her divinity(means her personality)from her body and spirits, she leaving behind a non personality body and spirits thus Furina born in order to fill that piece.
They are one body and one soul, but different personality. And why she didn't have the shiny hair thingy is because the power of hydro archon isn't on her. But on Focalors, and she gives it back to neuvillete. Meaning that the shiny hair color is a clue that the archon is using their power(Their original power, combined with dragon sovereign power). Then, that's why Neuvillete called every other archon besides Focalor&Furina is A power stealer.

They all either got added in X.5 or X.6. So following this trend would indicate we'd get Furina's second story quest and a new trounce domain in about 3/4 updates.

I guess her hair doesn't glow not because she's not an archon, but because she's just an ordinary human now. look at Neuvillette or the oceanid (human form) characters that have appeared, they are not archons but their hair can glow. So I think only elemental creatures or god-like creatures have glowing hair

We actually found out that she isnt the real archon, she just plays the role of an archon as the real archon do her job. She also experienced the same suffering both Nahida and Raiden did: loneliness. She has to keep up the act because if she became herself, her people judge her for what she is.
I see alot of myself in Furina thats why she became my fav character after nahida. I know the pain when you have to keep up the act everyone wants you to be and not be yourself.

Makes perfect sense why her hair doesn't glow. But will need to do the archon quest and her story quest first for it to make sense. That is actually a really neat small detail on their part to leave that out.

If he has absolute power over hydro, then he would be considered the hydro sovereign, not an archon; if he truly became the hydro archon, then he’d have abandoned the dragon sovereign’s seat of power, which (Assuming a dragon sovereign’s seat of power works in similar fashion to an archon’s) means that he must be dead as you can’t voluntarily stop being an archon (You can relinquish control over the nation like Zhongli/Venti but no one can take their place as they still hold authority over their respective elements given their elemental abilities). Also, the wiki refers to the hydro seat of power as destroyed and the hydro archon as nonexistent, reducing The Seven to six.

Her divine form, or the “real focalors” traded her divinity (and her life) for a vision for Furina while completing her mission (you’ll know what that is in the newest story quest) making Furina no longer an archon therefore no hair glow. Her hair instead simulates glowing like an archons by being bright because she always tried to act as an archon for her people, pretty neat character design. One unique thing about her though is that if you use Furina to jump out of the water she will have a trail of sparkles behind her

Even on party set up, she doesnt have any special effect unlike nahida who has grass effect below her feet, zhongli with geo, venti with his wind and raiden with electrical purple ish.

That's such good attention to detail- tho if you notice, there is a part of her oiufit that's still "glowing", or at least looks that way- and I love that. I also wonder if lore wise, the reason she's so powerful even as a human and not an archon, is a blessing left over from Focalor or even gifted by Neuvillete giving her her vision. As a way to say, "despite having been powerless the last 500 years, here is the power you deserved", as further compensation for what she endured alone. When she was revealed to be human, I finally noticed that unlike Raiden Shogun/Ei, who like Furina was known as the archon publicly, Furina was never displayed using her powers until she was made playable and given a vision- the attention to detail is amazing: it's also how I started to figure out of Furina was a puppet or not: puppets can have powers, clearly, when gifted by an archon who made them, no vision needed, yet Furina never used hydro. Such a small detail that was easily missed due to the chaos of th archon quests lol.
Furina deserves her vision, and her unlimited water walking. She deserves even more then that. She deserves the world. I can't imagine how hard she must have fought... I wonder if the other archons will ever learn of this- and I hope they give her due respect. She deserves it.

They are debating so much, but furinas situation is that she is the very human version of focalor. I love to think that the “divinity” thats left on focalors body is the divinity’s conciousness and not the true focalor whom wishes she just became a human. I believ that focalor wish to become a true human came true when she became the archon by creating furina. Focalor may have not imported her memories to furina as she wants to furina to have no touch of any divinity.
I mean that is true, technically Furina was the Hydro Archon when Furina and Focalors used to be one but after Focalors split her divinity from Furina’s humanity, Furina has become a human. So she isn’t an Archon anymore after Focalors split herself from Furina.

She is not though. The Hydro Archon no longer exists and never will, that was the point of the Quest. Her hair doesn't glow because she isn't the one who possesses the highest Authority over her Element. It belongs to Neuvillette.

The highest Elemental Authority, has been stolen from Dragon Sovereigns and given to Archons. The Gnoses are remains of the third descender. The two are distinctly different from eachother. That's why the other nations' Archons still have glowing hair: the highest Authority over their element is still with them.
SPOILERS AHEAD:
For people saying "Furina isn't an Archon": Neither is Venti nor Zhongli. Raiden technically isn't the one ruling Inazuma either, a physical vessel is.
When you pull for Raiden, her playable unit is the Vessel, not the Archon.
The only real playable Archon is Nahida, the rest are either retired and gnosis-less, or don't have a body of their own. Furina is the human expression of Focalors, and guarded over Fontaine for years. She's as much of an Archon as Venti, Zhongli and Raiden's Vessel are.
Furina also isn't "a regular human", she's literally a gnosis-free version of Focalors, is not like she was a random girl from a working family, that Focalors found and asked for a favor, lol; she is of divine origin, she is a part of Focalors. Not to mention she does have a vision and is capable elemental manipulation, like the current "Archons" are.
It should be clear by now that the story in Genshin revolves around the idea Archons falling one by one, and being stripped of their former glory. Focalors becoming Furina, and erradicating her divine half is in line with this.
Brother, she is 100% human now. She "was" not a regular human before, she was focalors "humanlike" part (remember focalors was oceanid before godhood, then just like oceanid could mimic and breed creatures, she was able to make a humanlike part of her). Then focalors died, furina now is a completely separated entity, a true fontainian human being, free of immortal curse and original sins after neuvilette releases all fontainians from sins (furina's included). Then she acquires the vision, something she actually deserves.
Now, compared to our playable archons, they already have the elemental power before archonhood, and what we are playing with right now are their vessels, which are not a separated human entity (unlike furina which is a true human with visions).

Our current playable Furina isn't archon Focalors; she's a human. I've repeated this several times in other sections: think of it Focalors is the oceanid,, and Furina is the mimic creature. Or closer example, if you plant tomatoes by cutting their stems, new plants would still be tomatoes but NOT the original source tomatoes anymore, there's a possibility that they wouldn't look exactly the same or taste the same either, they would probably have different traits.

Fun fact : I was looking at the character archive and looked on the side where it shows her b-day and desc and job or whatever and where it shows most characters (or in this case gnosis) visions it dosn't show she has a gnosis and same with Neuvillette and his vision so MY theory (prob not true so don't get excited) is that Hoyo wants a little surprise this archon quest and Neuvillette is the real hydro archon and not furina idk tho I haven't played the archon quest and I started playing after the sumeru quest was released so idk if it has happened before or not so I can't comfirn. Just a theory tho and have a nice day/night!
An explanation of sorts (very SPOILERy, so be aware)
Furina's hair doesn't glow because she doesn't have the Elemental Authority over Hydro, she never did. Her powers come from her vision only (she was unable to use hydro at all before getting said vision, so it is a fact).
Said Elemental Authority currently belongs to Neuvillette, and before was within the Hydro Archon, Focalors.
Now, it is very important to note that Elemental Authority is NOT Gnosis. Elemental Authorities were taken from the Dragon Sovereigns and given to Archons. Gnoses are remains of the Third descender and are alien to Teyvat.
Which is why the Archons of previous nations have glowing hair: although they gave up their Gnoses, they still possess their respective Elemental Authorities. They are still Archons.

Didn’t Focalors technically doom Fontaine by killing herself and the Hydro Archon title? I mean because of that Fontaine became a godless nation. And we all know what Celestia does to godless nations.

There is no Hydro Archon. It's not even like with Mondstadt where everyone knows that there is an Archon but no one has seen the Archon in centuries. No it's completely different in Fontaine because they DON'T have an Archon anymore. No active Archon like in Sumeru, nor an absentee one like in Mondstadt. There is absolutely no !Archon in Fontaine. Your comment makes no sense.

An interesting fact is, if you go into the shade and click on a furina with long tails, you can see blue light at the tips
The tips of her hair DO GLOW, but it is very subtle. You can see it inside the corridor of the Palais Mermonia

I think it is a representation of the elemental power coming from each archon’s body. Furina gets her power from a vision.
That’s because she doesnt have divinity. That part of her died, all that remains is her humanity.
It only glowed during that one scene in the archon quest😅
i think furina is like the shogun situation, not the archon itself but someone that was meant to take the role of it so then we play with it (except the electro archon still alive😭)

You know when we all git excited cuz finally another archon. But the hydro archon died and we only got her (ideal self but not actually her and is human) I felt like hoyo scammed us😂.. No archon features in visual. No voice lines related to other archons (she doesn't know them😭). In other word its like we just pulled for some other 5star character-like kokomi/nilou.
I'm happy with her kit though. She really has an archon type kit that is very unique but when you already know the whole truth about archon quest, it's kinda uh... Idk how to explain. It literally has a psychological effect 😂. Anyways I guess hydro chars (some of them) already possessed some unique skill, (mona-can sprint, kokomi, can walk water even its limited, then here's furina, can switch alignment and can also walk on water) they're already special. Imagine if we really got Focalors. She might be op🤔. No wonder why hoyoverse killed her.
Her hair was glowing during I think 4.0 Archon Quests, but now… Neuvillette’s “hair” otherwise is glowing when he gains the full stacks; of his passive…
Even on the character selection screen, Furina doesn't display special effects like other Archons.
Ive done the archon quest just by now and finally I have the authority to comment here.
Furina is not an archon since the very beginning. It is very clear in chapter V that when Focalor split her divinity, the human form “furina” become own individual. Therefore Furina is not an archon. Though she was not an archon, her willpower, sacrifice and kindness undeniably makes her heart of an archon.
What do you mean with "what do you think?" For those who has played the Fontaine Archon Quest and Furina Story Quest, it is clear that she is not an archon. And you can see on her bio page. It is "vision" not "gnosis"

Even though she's just a human , in everyones hearts, she is the hydro archon.
Even if her divinity is gone , I wouldn't be surprised if she again ascends to godhood just because what she did for her people.
She is better then any archon anyway. While Raiden is my main and always in my heart Furina just hits differently. This precious human being must be protected from all those haters that were bulying her for such a long time. Shame on them. She is best character story wise and any other way

Focalor did say that she separated her divinity from her body and spirit which we know who to be Furina. It seems having this "divinity" is what makes the other archons' hair glow.
Technically she was once one with with focalors but her hair doesn't glow because her divine side was separated.
They abolished the title of hydro archon, it doesn’t exist anymore that’s why furina nor Neuvillette have glowing hair or the element effect in the team menu
