Not Detective, I'm Lieutenant Columbo. - said Columbo once, perhaps more than once. He was a really cool guy.

It was Jordan I was quoting , from this vlog, actually said “I don’t think anybody in the world could be COLUMBO other than Peter Falk “....
I went back to listen. He didn’t actually say “Detective”, and he didn’t say “Lieutenant”. Just “Columbo”.

I have been in ❤️ with Peter Falk since I saw him in Columbo. He was a natural actor, who could do drama & then turn around & do comedy. His movies The In-Laws, Murder by Death & The Cheap Detective were classic.
There will never be another Peter Falk. RIP
PS: I became a Police Ofc. Thank You Peter.

True story. Peter and his wife used to go to the same sushi restaurant as me. Eventually we’d send sushi over to them, they’d send sushi over to me and my friend and eventually I was on their Christmas card list. He was part of a small group of actors who thought the work was more important than the fame, you mentioned one, John Cassavetes. In an interview he was asked how he felt about having his raincoat in the Smithsonian, he answered with " I don't know what raincoat they have because the one I wore is hanging in my closet". He dozed most if the hour and a half flight, but when he spoke, it was plainly obvious that HE MADE the character Columbo. It was him, his real personality. Not a lot of make-believe. Columbo was one of my favorite TV shows, so much so I bought all of them on DVDs several years ago. Many of the shows had interesting locations and homes, etc. I think it would be great if you could find some of these locations (homes and yards) and show a "then" (screen shots from the shows) and "now" as they look today. I've found (or tried to find) some of those locations using Google street view. One of the locations I found was the little general store used in the 1971 episode Murder by the Book (at Big Bear Lake)0. Unfortunately, that store was razed about five years ago. I also found the "cabin" used in the show, but there isn't a street view, only aerial. And the cabin has gone through some structural alterations since 1971. I really enjoy your videos, and I'm impressed with your subject knowledge (you must spend a great deal of time on research and obtaining period photos, etc.). I just the other day turned my wife on to your vids. She really enjoys them. We both watch the above video this morning. Keep these videos coming!

Hi Jordan, one more thing, how did I miss this.😳. We love him, we love Colombo.💞. They picked the right man to play that part. I can't see nobody else playing that Role. He kept us in suspense, he had us laughing. We knew he'd get the right person. That raincoat and that car is legendary. As well as those cigars. Every now and then we can still watch him on TV. He will always be in our Hearts.💖. Just love peter, aka Colombo.good guy. If my sister shared this and I forgot. Then it was worth seeing it again.👍 Love, respect and positivity always. Stay young at Heart. Vee J.🙂💞👋.

Finally... Peter Falk... Another awesome vlog. Been waiting to hear about this guy and you didn't disappoint. The story about the ref. and the fake eye was pretty funny. Did not know anything about the art, cool. Yeah, the younger one will only know him from The Princess Bride, but Columbo is a great show. You are right, the concept of knowing who the killer is, then watching him solve the crime is unique, and awesome. Great vlog!

You caught a pair of my favorite other bloggers in the magic castle entry hall, Simon and Martina :) they go all over the world doing really cool stuff, and live in Tokyo most of the time- that was a super-cool night, awesome crossover, swedes and english-teachers-in-Japan-by-way-ofCanada: two favorite blogs! And honestly, two super cool things with a bonus Peter Falk! what a great morning starter!
