love the spirit of the guitar player!!
I keep coming back to the post. So lovely.
Follement jubilatoire, quelle belle découverte !
Honestly the beat drop (the whole consort coming in) at 1:20 just sells this interpretation as the best one beating the legendary Jordi Savall by far. Had this blasting in my car going to school :P
nailed it
boom waadadeng
Yes! Jordi is the top-dog on this stuff of course. But his lack of reeds with this type of music can sometimes leave me wanting more.
The man with the gittern is a hero
Guittern Hero!
@@ersatzvitamin1 Haaaa!!! Well done! 🤣🤣🤣
Yannick forever!!!
XVI century had it's own rock'n'roll.
Really? The pieces was probably composed at the beginning of the 17th century.
Put a guitarist and a drummer in a band and it always become rock every time :)
@@rainerausdemspring3584 Not so, it is a folk song. Praetorius had it in Terpsichore, which means it should be around in the 1500s.
@@rainerausdemspring3584 It is quite similar to Parson's Farewell
Wow! Never heard any music played with such an enthusiasm and fervor! Excellent work!
Absolutely wonderful! Thank you all!
so great
Quelle joie !
the hair in my forearms stand up when I listen to this
on adore !
love the Le Banquet du Roy.....good luck gang.
Your best one on youtube!!!!!
Show this video to any hip-hopster who groans "Oh! *Old* music is so *boring*!" The musicians' enthusiasm here is absolutely contagious. They look like they enjoy playing it as much as I do listening to it.
mais oui! c'est vrai!
Si así se toca!
look like they search the maestro lol
Excellent!
Excellentissime!
Precioso. Me encanta
I can see myself in the court of Queen Elizabeth I, with my full dancing gown and slippers and dancing to this wonderful music. You bring it all back to life! Thank you for your grand performance worthy of a royal court. Coming your way from Chicago area.
Erm, this piece was almost certainly composed after Elizabeth's death - perhaps around 1605 in France. It immediately became immensely popular- I have a list of 31 cognate versions before c. 1630.
I love this style of music and such fine playing.
Great music cool that its soo old and
Someone did save it from being missed
❤
never heard but loved it from the first second
Aquece o sangue.
Puur en supergoed!!! The Netherlands.

Ouaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis !
Amazing this “aged” piece of music has been covered by Black Sails! Love the original just as much as the modern version of it!
Not the same song/dance!
Perfecto.
"The Parson's Farewell", du recueil "The English Dancing Master" de John Playford (1651).
There is a piece of Praetorius very similar to this
¿De Philidor... el ajedrecista? Si es así, ¡más que genial!
Both chess grandmaster and composer/music collector. He was a mathematician as well.
Meravigliosi! Avete pubblicato un cd con questo brano?
All against England...
Is this the same as “Parson’s Farewell” in Playford’s Dancing Master?
No, this is a French dance collected by famous François-André Danican Philidor.

What's the title of the song?
La bourrée d'avignon . Bourrée is the name of a dance and avignon is a french city
man I need to get a cornet, that dude was totally slapping this tune
Is that "Roy" Louis XIII?
This song was collected by Philidor l’aisné in 1690, so it would rather be Louis XIV , the Sun King.
Höre ich renaissancemusik ,dann hab ich Kirmes,
