You are correct on every point. I think some people want these because they see it sitting on the shelf in Sheldon and Leonard’s apartment on “The Big Bang Theory “ 😅
If one is interested in a nice geiger counter, look into a GQ GMC-600+. It is capable of alpha, beta, gamma, and xray detection up to 0.425 rem/hr. Please note that because of its detection capabilities and range, it will cost you around $350. If you wanna go cheaper like $150, try the GMC-500+. It is a combination of the CDV-700 and 715 with a low and high level tube. However, this only maxes out at 4.25 rem/hr while the CDV-715 can handle up to 500 rem/hr. Just for reference, half an hour of exposure at 500 rem/hr results in a 50% chance of death after 14 days. A radioactive floor tile from home depot is going to be 3.3 million times less radioactive than what the 715 maxes out at.

thank you for this, now I know what to say to that market place seller if he/she answers: "sorry I have changed my mind" 2 715's for $50
If I may ask: What is that black counter with the big lump on the back? It looks a little bit like a mutant BetterGeiger S-1
