OMG. Dave is like the finest, nicely aging wine and she is like a crazy teenager.
That's an excellent description. They couldn't have been on more different wavelengths. That's what made the interview uncomfortable to watch. Those questions about Alan, and metal vs. Depeche fans, ok, I have to admit, they were interesting from my point of view, because I grew up in that world and in those times. But they could have been put differently. It was also blatantly obvious that although her English is good, she's a Slovak woman speaking English. Even throwing Slovak words at Dave... It made me cringe. Oh well, Dave... Suffer well.
I watched tons of interviews, but I’ve never heard the questions about Alan and the rivalry between fans so clear asked and answered. It may sound trivial for some, but it cleared the atmosphere and now I am prepared to let any question related to Alan disappear, as he will never ever be back with DM and, as expected, DM and Metallica or metal bands don’t give a dam about their fans tantrums ;-) I like the interview. Maybe it wasn’t that well prepared, but it was honest and kind. Thank you to the beautiful lady and to Dave for being nice, as we know him.
so well said and eloquently put! you’ve summarized what most DM fans are feeling. Yes we are still throwing tantrums hoping they hear us even if they are on deaf’s ear. It’s like Martin wrote the song “It’s No Good” just for us.
Taky se mi rozhovor líbil. Pamatuji rozdělení na základce na Depešáky a Metaláky. Mám to citově zabarvené. Byla to super doba. Kolem roku 1990. 🎉❤😊
Dave mal veľmi inteligentné odpovede, páčila sa mi veta, že ľudia radi žijú v minulosti...Vyžaruje z neho pokoj a taká vyrovnanosť. Ale žiaľ moderátorka nekládla moc zaujímavé otázky, všedné, zvlášť tá rivalita medzi fanúšikmi, alebo či sa nevráti do kapely bývalí člen... Hlavne, že hneď v úvode povie, že sú jednotka v rádiách SK. Tá samochvála je nesympatická vždy, to nech nechajú na poslucháčov. Trochu menej hektického vyjadrovania a neprofesionálne pôsobí aj ten jeden mikrofón...
Moderátorka absolutně neprofesionální! Čekala jsem kdy roztáhne nohy v kozačkách a vytáhne koženou minisukni!🤮 Chudák Dave!😆

Chudák Dave ale čo čakať od moderátorky ktorá sa celú kariéru nasilu smeje na svojich trápnych vtipoch ktoré nie sú vtupné iba trápne..... Toto sa volá prenesený pocit trápnosti.... Kvôli nej som Expres okamžite pre pýtal keď som počul že odišla konečne zase normálna stanica!
Nechcel som sa k tomu vyjadrovať, ale aj mne liezla tá osoba na nervy. Klobúk dolu pred ním že ju neposlal do...

Once it is getting uncomfortable she directly makes sure to point fingers at others. "my colleague wanted the question...." yea of course. Give me break. You really have no backbone. You asked the question so stand by it and show some responsibility instead of throwing your colleague under the bus.
From a fans perspective this is also a reasonable question. There are many bands where former members enter a band again at a later stage. As a member of a band you can have another perspective but as a fan ist not that much of an unreasonable question.

When asked about a fan quarrel, Dave was confused and surprised. It was tactless.
You can see clearly that question about reunion with Vince or Alan makes Dave really uncomfortable. I think he's upset that many of Dm fans focus to much on period when Alan was in a band.
DM became the great band with Alan’s huge participation. He was the creator of Depeche Mode’s amazing sound. I like Dave very much, but I don’t like how he inicite to forget about Alan. This is very rude and ungrateful of him. It is impossible to forget about Alan.

@@rafaelszepesi469 mnoho lidí s tím otravuje, zeptejte se sami sebe. Existovali by DM, kdyby Alan neodešel. Ano, chybí tam ale přece nechce nikdo tvrdit, že ty alba po SOFD jsou o tolik horší. Krom toho bylo vidět, že se o tom Dave absolutně nechce bavit. Podle mě byl takový Vince důležitější ještě než Alan. Proč? Bez něj by žádní Depeche Mode ani nevznikli.
@kippiten6949 Nesouhlasim, bez Alana by se ani nahodou nevysvihli tak vysoko (z cehoz pak mohli ryzovat i dal, aniz by zase predvedli neco zavratneho), ale to je na delsi diskuzi.

nevim proc ,ale rozhovor mi prisel priserny.... moderatorka uplne trapne skakala do reci a jak se vyptavala na minulost a to jestli vemou zpet Alana mi prislo uz za hranou.... i Davidovi to bylo neprijemne.....

naprosto souhlasím. sice by bylo super, kdyby se Alan vrátil, ne nutně do kapely, ale alespoň do hudebního světa, ale proč se ptala na něco, když už mohla čekat co odpoví. celkově byla hrozně hrr. upřímně mi bylo Davea líto..

Otazky byly ve sve podstate docela zajimave, hloupy byl zpusob jak je pokladala a jak se u toho chovala. Mozna byla dost nervozni, ale to by prece nemohla jit delat rozhovor. Chvilemi jsem se za ni stydela.

A prečo nie? Veď to hovoril Fletch, ktorí tu mal aj samostatné vystúpenie ako DJ... Inak by sa ho na to nepýtala.. A Gore bol samostatne ako turista v Prahe...
Protože je to takový syndrom novinářů z východní Evropy. Zatím jsem to slyšel v Rumunsku, Rusku a teď na Slovensku. V Rusku asi nejhorší, když dostal tři dotazy za sebou, jenom aby z něj vymáčkli nejakou pochvalu. Pak už z toho byl viditelně rozladěnej. Dave a Martin už na to umí naučeně odpovědět v kontextu železné opony. Fletch byl zkušený marketér a uměl pochvalit cokoli.
@@roboskaman3722 Tyhle otázky jsou trapný a všeobecně zbytečný. Co jako všichni čekají, že dostanou za odpověď? Fletch to nejspíš někde utrousil, aby se neřeklo (protože co máš kurva na tak debilní otázku odpovědět..), přitom z Bratislavy všichni zúčastněný viděli maximálně hotel (možná ani to ne - mám pocit, že nejednou nocovali po BA koncertě ve Vídni) a ten příšernej stadion. Prostě jedna ze stovek koncertních zastávek ve světě. Nedělejme si iluze, že zrovna koncerty v tom našem (ať je to kdekoliv) místě jsou něčím výjimečné. A jako turista byl samostatně v Praze kde kdo...

I didn't enjoy this interview, actually i felt sorry for the interviewer, she sounded so nervous and asked so many irrelevant things. I appreciate that Dave answered trying not to sound so bored, but if that was me, I would have tried to be more prepared.

@@rivermintofficial Really? the metal question and the Alan Wilder question, to which everyone who knows them already knows the answer. I know she was nervous, but you can't miss an opportunity like that by asking trivial questions, I say this as a journalist myself, you have to study the topic and the interview before doing it. When she asked about the rivalry with metal, I thought she was going to ask about the Metallica song that Dave sang, but the question made no sense. Anyway, it's done, so whatever
Naaaa, don‘t be so harsh with her ;-) I think she asked some questions which are still relevant for fans (like the Alan question) and got some answers other people have never delivered. I also liked the DM/Metal question, cause it was of course exactly how it was :-) I enjoyed that, to be honest… only thing is that the interviewer should stand to her questions and not point at others once she doesn’t get the answer she wanted.
I felt like he didn’t want to be there but he had to. Who knows how many interviews he had and has on that day.

otázku čo sa Alana týka by som skôr položil že či si nemyslí že by fanúšikov potešil návrat Alana,lebo v časoch keď bol v skupine vydávali hity jeden za druhým?som velmi zvedaví čo by na to povedal ..
David za svoji dlouhou karieru poskytnul tolik rozhovoru a tolikrat musel vybruslit z neprijemnych temat, ze jeho odpoved by urcite znela krasne, ale jeji obsah by nerikal nic. A Alan neni tematem, u ktereho se rozpovida otevrene.

Alan was very important for DM but HE made the choise to leave.DM still give us GREAT music.Martin and Dave is the heart of DM.And dont forget,FLETCH kept them together to continue.Alan was great but too selfish and he wanted to make next records how he wanted(listen Daniel Miller).Alan without Martin,Dave,Fletch Lost from music.Its SAD but its the truth.Can wai for the new album!!!!!
I think you are missing a point : $$$. In his official statement, Alan Wilder indicated that one reason was that his work was not valued enough by by the band. This can be seen in the credits (Gore) amd the licensing company to mute. In other words, I dont think Alan was paid enough. Simple. he then continued with music, because that's what he does, but Recoil is expensive because of the many vocalists and it is hard to payback because very hard to tour because of the vocalists diverging agendas. Proof of that is that he had to auction a lot of his DM stuff. In order to make money, he shoulld get 1 vocalist and move on. Like Erasure.
Fletch is the one who said that he would not make another album with Alan. He was a big reason that Alan left, so he was not the one who kept them together. Alan was the only one willing to do all the studio work. If having a vision for sound is selfish, I thank Alan for it. He was using a talent that I wish I had. The man was incredible. Too bad he never found another connection that worked for the long haul.
@@scoopicman Fletch said he would not make another album with Alan becouse he left.Alan did the studio work as you said,had alot of ideas but if you listen Alan interviews he wanted to leave(tired in DM)to do his music.CURE asked him to join the band.It was hard times for all of them.i wish he was still in the band but he left.They move forward and glad they did!!!

@@AkAMuzik He was not paid less. The money was and is still shared equally between the 4 of them (Fletch state nowadays). He continues to collect royalties as explained in the documentaries from the remaster collection. Musically he was working his ass off, in the studio and preparing all the backing tracks for the tours and also playing his and Fletch part live, of course, he felt he was not valued enough, but it was not about money, it was about artistic recognition and I'm quite sure he wanted to be the leader of the band, he wanted the band to sound as he wanted and this clashed with Martin-Fletch's idea of what the sound should've be.
Now, he choose to leave, and he also said in one of the early Recoli live chats, he never wanted to be in a Pop band in his forties. It was a job he hated with a toxic environment, good for him. Just give it a rest

Music for the Masses,Violator,SoFaD to sú pecky všetky pesničky z albumu sa dajú zahrať aj na koncertoch tak aby to ludí bavilo nie jak teraz vydajú album a na koncerte zahrajú 3-4 z nového albumu

@@Andreonynone that's a poor question that you ended your post with, the albums with Wilder , especially A Broken Frame through SOFAD are so much better than anything that came after, Wilder was a huge contributor to those albums, what he's done solo since is irrelevant, what he was able to do to help Martin with his compositions, arranging, helping with the creative process etc was invaluable to Depeche Mode

I think a part of DM fans like to listen DM from the past, but It Will never happen, cause we live in present, where the eletronic music sound different. They are a 40 years old band and the only ones that still go on touring and make great music. I just think people should stop to look to the past. If u prefer the old álbuns, listen to them so. Always DM suffer criticism when they create new material, even in the past.
