For me, my dive watch journey peaked with my 39mm Longines Hydroconquest Ceramic. It's the "Goldilocks" zone for me. Brand heritage, versatile, perfect size, thin, best "off the shelf" movement imo (modified ETA 2892 with silicone hairspring for antimagentism and 70+ hour power reserve). It's not the "best" dive watch, but it's the perfect balance of spec/price/design that I've found.

Yep I went to the shop on the intention of buying another omega SMP ( sold an older one ) but kept seeing the Tudor on the internet so had a look and wow it looked like old school dive watches not like the bling omega , the black dial with gold gilt and like you say the red triangle somehow works to give it a vintage vibe , the movement so far is great time keeping and I don’t mind the thickness of the full size BB as my wrist are 7 1/2 inch so you don’t notice it on the wrist. I find myself grabbing this watch most of time even my speedmaster pro as been in the box more after buying this .

My dive watch is an Orient Kamasu, and I actually dive with it. I love the size because I don’t like huge analog watches. It also has a unique look instead of trying to be another submariner clone. It’s up market enough to look and feel nice, but not so expensive that I’m worried about using it for it’s intended purpose
That said, a lot of people in the dive community, at least in my experience, opt for G Shocks or Invicta Pro Divers because they’re cheap and do the job

Kept about eight because they hold sentimental reasons. Like my Omega blue wave from 1998. The day my wife and I got together. I also kept the Casios and Gshocks but those don’t count lol. Russ, I'm very happy that you've found the pinnacle of dive watches for you - well done! The BB58 is an absolutely amazing timepiece. Hands down. Its actually a watch I have my eye onto buy down in a couple of years when I change careers - either the Blue Bay 58 or a vintage Tudor 79090 in blue. The perfect dive watch for me - right now - is my black-dial Omega Seamaster 300M Quartz. I'm active duty Navy so I need a dive watch that's robust, capable, has to-the-second accuracy and is always ready to go. Yet I want one that has Naval heritage, excellent fist and finish, and elegance and charm for when the situation calls for it. For me right now, that's the Quartz SMP. In a couple years? Likely the Tudor (though the SMP won't be going anywhere. We've been through too much together).

I have several divers at this point. Omega seamaster 300m, longines legend diver, bell & ross bronze diver, seiko s5, and the tudor rootbeer gmt. I like them each for different reasons. I have gravitated towards the b&r lately. But, the seamaster is still my favorite. But, the tudor is a really close second.

My perfect dive watch is my Seiko SRPE03 King Turtle. After I replaced the bracelet, it has become my absolute favorite dive watch I own. My overall favorite watch I own is my King G-Shock GXW-56.

Couldn’t agree more! Great watch… although for me the 54 was a hair more perfect as I prefer that slightly smaller size, but really you’re splitting hairs! Great choice!

My automatic Britling Cole Ocean with Blue face. I bought it in 2001and it's been the prefect dive and everyday wear watch. After 22 years it's stunning and accurate to within 2 seconds per day. I doesn't get any get than that.

Nothing to feel embarrassed about Nick. Seiko make some classic watches & the Willard ranks highly amongst collectors.

I agree with the Tudor BB58 OG, however on a leather strap. I also equally like the Doxa Sub 300T Professional with rice bead bracelet and the Sinn U50 on the red rubber strap. These are all perfection for me.

The Tudor Black Bay 58 might be my grail watch as well. I've not worn one though and my wrist is 8 inches. So I'm not certain and the price, while I can afford it, I'm not sure I want to. But I've been thinking about selling a bunch of watches and narrowing things down to 3-4 favorites and then I just may go for it. So far, my favorite watch (for me) is a Le Jour SeaColt Brown dial. 42mm is what I consider the perfect size. I know that's an odd watch from left field but I stumbled on it at a watch show here in Chicago last week. I can't stop looking at it throughout the day. The color is fascinating. It's one color in regular light and a more colorful watch in the sun.

I have to agree Russ. This is about the only watch from a higher end brand I actually want to own. I just keep blowing my money on fix it watches and tools….
No idea what these are priced at anymore either but I should have bought one a few years back when my interest was spiked . It has to be the black and patina one for me .

My 2002 CWC automatic RN diver is for me the ultimate diver watch. Being military it is more of a tool watch than a lot of divers which are closer to dress watches with added water resistance, so perhaps more of an acquired taste on a nato strap but well worth it. A notable mention goes to my recent acquisition of a Newmark 38mm blue Waterking, based on the sixties military original diver and is unbeatable value.

Glycine Combat Sub checks all your boxes (wears smaller) and is value beyond compare. Best part is unlike the Tudor, you don’t have to pay $3500 for it.

Love your choices. I have the 58 bronze and you get so much for your buck with Tudor.
Just for clarity, I have a white dial datejust 41 on jubilee, Explorer 39 and the Hulk and still think Tudor offer the best quality.

For me the perfect dive & watch is the seiko turtle Srpe93. It has a screw down crown, day date, great lume, it’s affordable, & it can take a beating. I’d like to add a Tudor bb Red at the end of the year. Imo those are the 2 perfect dive watches
