STORYLINE: In this AU A never fully accepted M's sorcery, and he died without saying thank you or anything. Because M loved him so much, he still waits for him, living near the lake of Avalon for hundreds of years waiting. He recounts his and A's relationship to his friend, Fred, who encourages him to look for A. M and A find each other but because M is unsure how A feels about his magic, he is very apprehensive and keeps refusing A's attempts at reconnecting, and thus they watch each other from a distance. After a while of thinking about each other and their past lives, it becomes too much for A to bear and goes to M. After some reminiscing on M's part, he gives in and he and A work things out. The end is supposed to be like M picking A up, a symbol of his devotion and the new start to their new relationship in the present. In the flashback M is pushing A away in the boat, and now he is drawing him back in.
I just really wanted to do this? I haven't really done a modern AU before so be nice? :P And that's all I have to say about that.

Wow those future scenes of Arthur chasing Merlin matched up really well with the flashbacks.

I love the scene where Arthur sees Merlin and chases after him - that just gave me so many feels, because in the show (the past, for them) it was always Merlin chasing after Arthur, trying to make Arthur see his point, and then it was just... Arthur chasing Merlin, trying to get him to forgive him :'( On that note, I loved the scene where Arthur is beating on the door as well. Very beautifully done!

So, I've watched this video several times and just now have read the actual description and I love it all the more.
I had to pause mid-video because I was having a fit. I cried. Pressed play again and cried. This is amazing.
I find this video a bit late, but I'm still happy I found it. The series' finale still gets me all bittersweet, sad and everything. But all this modern AUs are killing me (in a positive way, if I can say that lol). The show hasn't really ended, thanks to all you, great vidders of youtube and fan of the shows, that make all this amazing videos and keep alive the magic Merlin gave us. So, thank you :3

Oh my gosh I loved this, almost cried. I think this would be the BEST movie ever, I know they were talking about making a Merlin movie after the show ended, this would be such a great plot. Having Arthur come back in today's time. Merlin being around waiting for him he would be able to show him the ropes of the 21st century.A huge part of the Arthurian legend is that good and evil will be around forever,Arthur would be the good we need again in the world.THAT WOULD BE MY FAVORITE MOVIE EVER!!!

this is beautiful......i've not seen a merthur video done more realistically....watching this reminded me why i love this pairing so much...the editing is beautiful...it feels like a small merthur episode on its own....merthur is totally cannon by the way...they just don't know it yet....:)

Just wanted to let you know that two more Arthur/Merlin Modern AUs are in the works, one of them is about a week (because class and work keep getting in the way -_- ) from being completed!
haha. A similar thing happened to me. I am on tumblr and saw all these Merlin posts and was like "I got to watch this!". The only problem...the posts that brought me to the world of Merlin also highlighted pretty much all the major plot points, deaths, etc. Still watching though! Just started season 2 and loving it. Great video! Off to check out your tumblr...
