I can always hear the difference for HD no matter what speakers/headphones I use. It's quite significant in my opinion. Slightly louder, sharper, more clear and just generally more weight to the music. It's the equivalent of listening to an mp3 in 128kbps or 256kbps.

What you're describing is refered to as "tension". ok listen to 3:07 the drum rhythms begin to grow more and more compressed or faster until it drops out for a single measure peaking in 'Tension". Then the drop releases all the pent up "tension". If done correctly it's impossible to resist. Perfect example track. Well done. Supurb.
