Brent Spiner (Star Trek, Independence Day) joins us this week to drop some bombs about a certain someone’s return from the dead in Picard Season 3. Brent shares how he feels about being recognized (mostly) for a single character as Data in Star Trek - and later gets into the weeds on what his experience with the android has been like over the last few decades. We also talk about lessons learned from Joe DiMaggio, how he beat himself out for a Saturn Award, and tons of stories from his other roles in Night Court, Master of Disguise, and more!

I remember seeing an interview Michael Dorn/Worf gave and he said that this was one of the hardest 'adjustments' or aspects of moving to DS9 ... the TNG cast & crew apparently were close as family and loved going to work every day and spent their time proverbially smokin & jokin etc. - and they hung out together, became close and it was just an awesome "work environment" ... but when he got to DS9, Avery Brooks (whom I met and is a great dude but I agree can be intense in his 'work ethic') fostered a much more serious, "this is work not play", serious-business type of work environment. He wasn't used to that, TNG was much more of a "family business" kind of environment.

Michael, I can’t recall which episode of Smallville this was from, but Lex and Clark are having one of their Alan Shore/Denny Crane moments in the barn, and Lex says something like “Clark, when my father dies, kings will come to his funeral. When your father dies, his friends will come to his.”
My dog was diagnosed with cancer two weeks ago and that line has been running through my head every time someone has come to say goodbye, and there have been so many of them.
I don’t.. I dunno. It isn’t the right video to leave this under, but I wanted to let you know the work you did on Smallville was true art, and it reverberates through the world in ways you can’t imagine, and I guess I wanted to say thank you - it’s been an oddly comforting thing to hold onto during an otherwise unbearable couple weeks.
