Chimney cakes, or Kürtőskalács in Hungarian, are a staple of street fairs, carnivals, and open-air markets across the Europe. If you are in Europe during Christmas time , it’s hard to ignore the aroma of sweet, freshly baked bread coated in butter and cinnamon-sugar. It usually comes in eight flavours. These festive treats date all the way back to medieval times, with the first written recipe found in a cookbook from the 1700s. Due to covid -19 restrictions , it's not possible for everyone to come and taste it in European Christmas markets but it’s possible to prepare them at home .
