Those little ride toys you put money in, (whatever they are called)in the front are so cool. I remember riding them in the 80's at Kmart. It would be cool to own one.
I live nowhere near Annandale, but I've been to that store many times. I used to drive a truck for Keystone Freight Corp. Kmart built a new distribution center in Greensboro NC, near where I live. Keystone was one of the largest carriers that delivered to Kmart stores our of that DC. I delivered many loads to the Annandale store years ago. This would be back around 2001, 2002, somewhere around then. Don't remember a Little Caesar's; I think that probably came after my time going up there. When I was delivering that store, there was a K-Cafe. I'd always get the truck unloaded, and go inside for lunch. The K-Cafe had REALLY good burgers and fries. And a chocolate chip cookie for dessert! It saddens me that not only Annandale, but all the rest of the K-mart stores that have been added to the annals of history. It's almost sickening. Thank you for the video. It's nice to see the store again, 20+ years later.
Manny, I see you got up to the loft and checked out one of the security observation windows. Cardboard baler looks like it's new and recently installed. Backroom layout in receiving is common. Thanks Dude!
Those signs on the racks inside the pharmacy look like our Kmart Australia logo slightly modified version of the original logo that was also used over here
Manny, have you ever noticed that all kmart's have the same phone system, Nortel Networks which is out of business now and was based out of Canada, most businesses including the Walt Disney Company have this phone network, I was able to get one from the Fenton MI Kmart, from the fitting room department!
Great video and amazing you got into the secret parts of the Kmart. They should have let you in the back of the pharmacy to get the Q sign with that awesome classic KMart logo as a keeper. Also sad with Kmarts closing Little Caesars losing their kiosks. (better pizza than racist Papa Johns and cardboard Dominos.) With this closing, Virginia will be left with (5) Kmarts, not really much point to have any really,,,
But there are still quite a few Sears, supposedly they’re trying to integrate things more. Our Sears got Toys in for Christmas.
