Something goes wrong on every concert of them. Seen them 3 times now and 3 times Elize couldn't sing, that one guy could't sing, mixing isn't great and that guy with white hair is lazy as fuck on guitar. On cd this band is great, but live they suck
I'm completely shocked at how terrible they sound, they're usually really good. Even Elize who has a beautiful voice sounded hoarse and a bit off. The sound or something was just not right, but I still love Amaranthe...everyone has their bad days. Jake is definitely missed.

Holy shit the audio mix sucks, who the hell did this Until 0:30 only strange sounding backing track and snare drums At 0:30 base drum comes in 0:39 guitar comes finally in At 1:25 finally bassguitar comes in 1:35 oh its too loud better make it almost silent again Drumcymbals almost silent too Through the whole set the keyboard backing track gets even more quiet, at the last song Hunger, which relies on the backing track alot, you cant hear it at all..
I watched a few live performances of them and have concluded that they are much better with stuff coming out of the studio. This one here was torture! As if they did not hear the monitors.
for some context during those big festivals only the headliners get sufficient time for proper soundcheck. the rest hopes for the best and sounds like crap. not the bands fault and neither the technicians. somewhat sad.

So I literally just came to this video after watching the full Wacken 2013 NightWish performance (which was amazing if you even somewhat like Nightwish I highly suggest you check out that vide - its the full 90 minute concert) ....but anyway I came here now ...this is terrible. I like some Amanrante songs and I think Elize is very talented...I NEVER liked the growler guy (I don't know his name or I would have used it ) I think it sounds like shit. Also the sound engineer(s) for this set did horrible work. That all said I think people bickering over what genre a band is (not just Amaranthe but any band were people comment it) -- are you kidding me? WHO THE HELL CARES what LABEL a band fits or doesn't fit... if you like it shut up and listen if you don't its your right to say you don't like them but ultimately no one (certainly not perfect strangers) gives a rat's ass .
No. You can't compare the sound on the video with the live sound. There's no time to do soundcheck on this stage at Wacken, it's set up, plug in and play. Blaming the FOH is asinine.
Well I dont know,these type a songs can seem really nice in the studio, but when it comes to live performance its really hard to pull of all of the samples and the way the guitar tone should mix with em it just only works when its edited on the computer(my opinion).
BlastBeat Fromthe Depths of Hell Usually they sound really good live. Especially When they have a good mix as far as the sound board and the vocalists don't sound like they are on deaths door.. This performance is a train wreck no doubt about that. Check out other live stuff though. It's usually pretty good

Before reading the comments I thought it was my impression that the sound was awful, they were not synchronized. Fortunately It wasn't my impression only,I suppose in those big festivals only the top bands are allowed to use their sound stuff and for that the terrible sound.
Nope, about 99,9 % of the bands bring their own personal for sound. But keep in mind that there are usually no (or very little) proper soundchecks at any festival.
Holy absolute full-fledged balls this sounds terrible. I sincerely hope it's down to just bad monitors and bad listening for the vocalists. 6:50 is just.. uuhh.. yeah.. :D
There are smartphone recordings out there that sound much better than this. They tottaly did them dirty with the capture/mixing. If you want a comparison just listen to the kamelot song live with Elize and Alissa to know how Elize really sounds like.
I `m watching some videos because I `m seeing tarja in Argentina. Amaranthe is going to be there. I know the band but.I`ve never watch a video of them. Pardon me...but this live is not the best. She seems a pop singer and the performance is so desorganised. They are competing for the spotlight.

sound is direct from sound board. Will never sound like it does on stage. Thats why its always very "raw".
