Occasionally we have deaf and hard of hearing folks at the restaurant, I always excitedly gesture or have them write for me, even though I never learned ASL.
This is why you must tell if someone is in front of you and do signs to know they are deaf just like me i was wearing my headphones and the music is kind of loud and a employee tries to talk to me i apologize anyways
My sister (named Julie, thought that was hilarious given your videos with your sister), is hard-of-hearing. We went swimming as kids and after jumping in the pool, she ran up to our mom all excited and went "MOMMY! I HEARD GLUB GLUB GLUB!" That was an expensive jump (she forgot to take her hearing aids out).
Im not even deaf and ive done this 😂 , concentrating on something too much and i look up and somones looking at me like 🤨, but then again i have adhd 😂 so if i dont hyper focus im not focused at all 😅 Im just saying if someone focused on something, at least wait till they look up , until you judge them
is "you speak so well" a compliment or an insult? bc i know it's really challenging for some deaf ppl to learn to speak well. Or does it depend on the person?
