    The amount of research you have done on the gloves and their origins are above and beyond what I expected in a review. Absolutely incredible work. Thank you.

    Many thanks for this great journalistic work Gijs. I bought a pair last year based on their branding, vision and philosophy of Swedish craftsmanship. I am disappointed and surprised by Crud. The gloves are clearly not worth the price if they are not Swedish made. Keep up the good work and cheers from Switzerland.

      Hi David, Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I am happy it is not only me who had this feeling. It's hard to not to give them a higher rating since the gloves perform well. But to my opinion the price is (too) high for what you get. The not made in Sweden story also is a bummer. Cheers, from a very grey The Netherlands, Gijs

    I bought a pair of Crüd Gjöra gloves after watching this, and a number of other videos. I live in North America so I was taking a big chance on these gloves being good as the company doesn't cover the cost of shipping on warranty or repair issues covered by their lifetime warranty. I regret buying them now as the gloves came with a manufacturing defect that causes a number of issues on my dominant hand. If you live in North America and have cash to burn, these gloves are decent, but I'd recommend buying from a local glove manufacturer. There's really nothing special about these gloves compared to anything you'll get locally and considering that these gloves are actually manufactured in the USA and then finished in Sweden, you're actually paying more for gloves made here anyways. Chances are you'll also be able to return/exchange the relatively locally purchased gloves without spending another $50 - $60 in shipping. All in all, I'd give these gloves a 4/10 due to the issues I have experienced.

  • @top0657
    @top0657 Před 2 lety +1

    Great review I can see you put real effort in this compared to most reviewers who just basically repeat the marketing page for the product. I still feel Crud is not 100% honest in their website as they still don't clearly state that the gloves are made in Ethiopia and instead use the abbreviation "ET". To me my first initial thought was that the gloves were made in Estonia and I only realised that they weren't after watching your video. I decided to go for Grud Tee Elkskin gloves instead as they are made in US and I feel like the price is then a bit more justified. Still I feel kind of bad that they are not 100% transparent about their manufacturing. I think much better aproach would have been to have a dedicated info section in their page about the factory where they proudly present the facts since they actually had long history in leatherwork.

    New to your channel, glad I found you. I like the objective detail you put into this video. Your research provides details I want to know more about the products I’m purchasing and the companies that produce these products. I wish to support companies who still hold quality, reliability , environmental sustainability as part of their objectives in manufacturing process.

    Very interesting! Thanks for doing the sleuthing...it is really important to know where and by whom products are made. And yes, they seem to be very expensive, perhaps because of all the extra shipping? Anyway, thanks.

    Great review but really overpriced gloves. Gloves are really good and nice, that's true. But you can find same quality gloves for four times less price on Ebay. For example, Kinco unlined cowhide leather gloves. USA made. Only without metal eyelets but you can install eyelets for 1 dollar cost. Wells Lamont gloves are also well made and good quality for 5 time less price. And this is a price for me in Europe with shipping. For USA is 10 times less price.

      Hi Björn, Thank for the comment, but good gloves are for sale between 35-80 euro's. It's not just my opinion but I have been talking to a lot of manufacturers, retailers and people who need gloves professionally: The Crud price is ridiculous. I still have them and when not using them for a couple of weeks a sort of white 'fungi' appears on a lot of places and they are getting quite hard so good maintenance is important (as with other gloves and boots). Enjoy the Outdoors and Stay Safe! Cheers, Gijs
