The parents are supposed to be a lesson to real-life parents to pay more attention to your child because of the dangers they could be getting in that's why the end of the movie they paid more attention to Coraline to show that they really did care about her that's what a real parent would do

I don’t believe Coraline ever escaped from the other world. If you watch the beginning of the movie when Coraline goes to look for a well and you look at the trees, you’ll notice that there aren’t any leaves, but skip to the end of the movie when Coraline goes to throw away the key in the well, all the trees have leaves on them. You can also see the trees with leaves in the other world when Coraline walks around the world. Also notice the hand clouds? Now how could that happen if she was still in the real world? And also, notice how everyone now all of a sudden pronounces her name correctly?

@@mcustanner7538 I didn’t watch much of the video but you should definitely read the book. There’s only a few aspects that the movie and book have in common. The movie was made so that kids would be able to watch it and the book goes into more depth of everything and also a few scenes that are different. For example, the other mother locks the other father in a cellar and instead of having to only collect the souls of the three children she had to collect 5, including her parents. Wybie and his grandmother don’t actually exist in the book nor does the doll. I think you should definitely read the book it’s good and an easy read.

Whybe doesn't exist in the book, as well as the doll, Coraline isn't realy pleased by the other mother world, she is observant and intelligent. She is exploring the garden because her parents are taking care of installing everything. That is for the first 2 weeks. Because in the other world it's always night. and in the movie they say that if you fall down the well you weel see a sky full of stars. Which probably prooves that the well is another "protal" into the other world (which also means that the other mother got the key in the end because they threw the key down the well.) but it also prooves that the other mother could have made that doll at any time. 1- The key was the only ordinary key, black, long with a button on top. She even looked weird at it!
2- The father only tells her to explore so she wont annoy him.
3- She locks the door bc she maybe red the description, and the first time she was annoyed by Coraline so she did it.
4- They never blamed it on Coraline.
5- The 3 minions/ghosts are: Other Father and the 2 fake woman's from the theater. (That's probably true)
6- They never wanted her/Coraline to go back, that's not said in the movie AND film.
7- The ghosts said she was in danger bc of the Beldams spider hand.

Even when I really like this theory, there is one major flaw that ruins it for me personally.
When the Beldam starts getting weaker, her minions start falling apart, so, imagine how her minions would look like if she was dead, or even weaker than we last see her. I don't think she would have been able to keep those fake parents looking like the originals personally. A very good and creative theory thoo

    • @ketaminepoptarts
      @ketaminepoptarts Před 10 měsíci +2

also why would she go through all the energy needed to create a perfect replica of the real world when she could simply send coraline back to the real world with magic? we know she can already send things between worlds from the scene at the beginning where she changes the doll to look like coraline, and from the other world mouse that appears from the bricks behind the door before coralines first visit to the other world, so really it doesnt seem like simply sending coraline back would be difficult for her.
plus if coraline really did get trapped in a fake version of the real world, then that would mean that the beldam would have to recreate the entire planet, and she couldnt keep up the other world (which was just 1 house and a garden) for very long so an entire fake planet would probably fall apart in minutes.

  • @redacted36

Ok so here's my theories about Coraline.
    1. I feel that the reason why it was said that no matter what, even if Coraline won and defeated the Beldam that she still wouldn't be safe. Is because the Pink Palace which is the home Coraline and her parents live in-is actually the Beldam's world! I know this sounds messed up but I believe that the world Coraline is living in is fake. The other reason why Coraline isn't safe from the Beldam is because she didn't really do anything to destroy her. Sure she left and locked the door. But what effect does that have? She's not dead clearly. Also yes the Beldam did claim that she would "die" without Coraline. But we don't know what would happen to her. As we see at the end of the movie. Someone said the garden at the end looks like the Other Mother's face indicating she never really left. Another theory someone made is that the inside of the well looks like the tunnel meaning it could be an entrance to the other world unless they sealed it off. So the other mother could escape.
    2. I believe the reason that Coraline's mom knew the button key was THE key has something to do with Wybie's grandma. I think that before Coraline's parents moved into the house Wybie's grandma told her parents about the other world. And the dangers of it. About the key and the other world. If you're wondering why would she say that? Well I think that Wybie's grandma's sister told her about the other world. But I'm pretty sure she described it as wonderful and that there were nice people there. And that she could enter using the key. I'm pretty sure some of you are like well why didn't Wybie's grandma go along with her sister? Well I think that the grandma was much smarter than her sister. And she didn't trust it. So when her sister went missing her suspicions must've led to the door. I do believe at some point his grandma actually checked the other world then left. Then when she got older she told the people who moved into the house. (Which happened to be Coraline's parents) about the dangers. Pretty sure they didn't believe her but started wondering. Which is why Coraline's real mom knew about the key and door.
    3. (Last theory) Ok so my reason for why the door didn't open when Coraline's mom opened it is because it's only accessible at night. Why night? Well night is the perfect time for Coraline to find the door. The Beldam knows that at night grownups are asleep so no one gets suspicious. That makes it easier for her to take kids. It can't be accessible in the morning because she would be found out.

the reason why the theory doesn't work involving her real mother is that when she walks into the room to see the door that coraline is talking about, she literally looks at it and sees that it's got a vintage keyhole which meant she needed a vintage key, that's how she knew what key she needed to open it.
a small (i don't wanna say theory) idea is that maybe they knew ahead of time that kids went missing from the pink palace and thought of it as a satanic thing, "sacrifice our daughter that we're always bothered by, get this gardening catalog published and make money" but then ultimately had second thoughts about it and maybe decided not to go about it.

The idea is weird but it makes a little sense, and yeah it’s a vintage keyhole. But the idea you have makes sense, though I doubt it would be for satanic purposes. If they did know, they likely just didn’t care what happened to Coraline.

I just realised something, you know when coraline went into the other world, the first time she saw the door, it was bricked up, but at night, ALWAYS AT NIGHT, she can go through. When she woke up, it was bricked off again. So does this mean that the beldam only lets coraline in at night? Or maybe when her parents aren’t home? Why is this?

    • @Ghostfaceluv
      @Ghostfaceluv Před 2 lety

if she's possibly using the ghost eyes for her minions corallines ''real'' parents, what if the other mother brings her at night because she needs to hide the ghost eyes or brings back the minions to the other world. I don't really explain good, but.. I think that's what it means, she only lets coralline in at night when her parents aren't around. But the real mom is rlly sus. i think she also might trap the mom and dad at night in that mirror/snow globe.

I have a theory,so you know how she was talking about the crash and the monoins in the other car.Well maybe when they had the crash it was almost like they fell into another dimension , where then the beldam saw her parents and almost got there skins and stuffed them like puppets. Then she saw Cori line and that’s how she knew what she looks like. After that she put some magical dust or something so coralline would forget everything that happened.Hope you like my theory:)

Which means it makes no sense for the parents to not have buttons for eyes. However I do think/agree that her minions can gain their own personality and free Coraline and how the other mother hast to fix them before she (Coraline) can see/talk to them again

  • @maddiebear012

Coralines parents are really the other mother and the other father
And thats because whenever her real parents are "sleeping"
    She goes and its open.
Just like when she finds out that theres a door. there she tells her "mom" to open it she find the exact key and first try and opens it
And when the parents went out
CORALINE OPENS THE DOOR AND ITS FREE TO GO IN
RIGHT THEN, if you have not noticed it only opens when her parents are gone and thats because her parents are really the other parents
And her parents been lying to her
And also her parents dont listen to whatever she is saying that is
Because her "parents" really know what shes talking about
