This video pretty much just shows the game being poorly played and making it through story mode to unlock all the sound effect items. I fail at the start of each level just to show the loosing animation and then proceed to win each level.
There is plenty more to show the game, but because I just flat out suck at it, I couldn't show what I wanted. Once story mode is complete you can play every stage and reach Cool mode for high scoring and then Fever mode for awesome score. Cool mode isn't much of a problem, but fever required reaching cool, then inputting a very specific button sequence in time with the music and I just could not get it right. The sequence is presented on the stage loading screen, but once in game you are on your own to get the timing right as there is no onscreen help.
Now I've already said I suck at the game but there seems to be some annoying Latency which stops the button presses lining up with onscreen prompts. Some songs took me multiple attempts as sometimes you have to be a split second early or a split second later than the prompt.
The game has had a bit of a gfx upgrade since the first game (Parappa da rappa) and has quite a lot do do before 100% ing this game. -

next year 20th anniversary of the game, hope to get the remaster
Hopefully with the cutscenes rerendered. The Parappa remaster is awful, they just ripped the cutscenes from the Playstation version and scaled them up.
@@Eddies_Bra-att-ha-grejer Yeah. Sony basically neglects any remake or remaster they announce (I remember someone saying they didn't give the PS4 remake of Medievil any advertising other than the trailers released and possibly some magazine adverts).

That is true, even thought people who played this game as kids already know not to do this even back then, and the game is basically fiction.

This game was a trip, and in the best sense possible. I remember seeing this game in a PS1 Demo Disc as a little kid.
hell yeah, after 23 years I could finally meet again mr onion and the beat that somehow was craved in my mind from that demo :) "kick, punch, youll remember..." I saw this with 8yo and main lang is portuguese xD
I enjoyed the hell out of this game. Loved the fireman level, so damn funky!
Speaking of hell, in this US version they changed the part where she dies and goes to hell then comes back to life that's in the original Japanese version, they replaced it by sending her to that island instead.
Last week my friend and I were fully couch-locked from edibles at a Friendsgiving. Our other friend put this video on the TV before starting a game of Dominion with the other guys. Now I've played Parappa the Rapper before but this was on another level. I remember desperately trying to comprehend what I was seeing and then just giving up. When the card game was over he seemed a bit concerned and asked, "Oh you're both still watching this? You know you can change it to something else, right?"

the original guitar hero and even predating games like dance dance revolution and beatmania...ya...still holds up well though its one of the hardest game of the franchise.
That makes me feel better LMAO my sister and I spent hours and hours playing this game and we could never beat the game I don't think. I didn't realize how weird the characters are and the animation is until watching it just now XD I literally played this when it came out in like 2000.
Drugs are a hell of a thing, but damn do they help create good games.

I played this on a demo disk called "Interactive CD" on PS1. Was so young, I had no idea what was going on with most of the games besides Tomba and Gran Turismo. This would be wild on acid
The pulsating crowd in the Teriyaki level gradually morphing into the portal to hell is something you don't easily forget
