Does Life Makeover have Black options(skin tone, facial features, and hair), as well as different body shapes(like plus-sized and stuff?). Because all the characters I'm seeing in the clips are slender pale-skinned girls with super straight or wavy hair, and that disappoints me. I understand that the game was made in China, but if it's to have any international appeal then it needs to have some actual diversity.

Well I didn’t actually remove Marinette but I did replace her with Chloe because an asshole protagonist with a huge redemption is much more interesting

Agreed like I was thinking that if I were to rewrite miraculous(which is never), I wouldn't want anything to do with Marinette solely because she has no relevance in this story other than becoming Ladybug.
As far as I see, Adrien would be way better as a protagonist. And Chloe being Adrien's partner would make for a very fun and in depth journey for both of them.
Edit: Also let there just be no romance. Romance is always the crux if not taken seriously.

It’s a shame Marinette went through such awful characterization-when I first watched the show I was able to relate to her clumsiness, awkwardness, and longing for affection. But then Astruc decided to give her so many flaws while refusing to give her the character development she needed. If there’s anyone to blame for why everyone hates her, it should be him.

The problem with miraculous is that the show had so much potential to be great, the concept is cool, the set up was good, but they kept writing themselves into corners
Fr!! Like, they gave her so many flaws, and that's fine! Flaws are what makes characters relatable and more realistic. HOWEVER, they didn't treat Marinette's flaws as flaws, but just treated them as little quirks and even romanticized her stalking? 😭
They also refuse to give her any type of consequences to her actions most of the time bc obviously the protag can't POSSIBLY be in the wrong

I’ve experienced limerence before so I relate to yandere characters that are obsessed with one person, but I wanna see the story of how they learn to get over it because that would be relatable. I wanna see her called out and become horrified at herself and how creepy she has been when she realizes the extent of what she’s done. Like move on from her obsession and then look back and think oh my god I really did this oh fuck that was creepy and not okay. I think she should have ended up with Lucas instead of Adrien and should have had her obsession fade away so she can grow as a person and grapple with the fact that what she did in stalking Adrien was really not okay.

I’ve always wanted to redesign miraculous characters (for fun y’know), but there are SO MANY problems I have with the show. It’s just a big can of worms I don’t wanna open.
I've only follow one Miraculous redesign series so far. The artist had to rewrite the whole cartoon universe to make it work😅.
Yeah! Everything I see a miraculous redesign/rewrite I'm like "I wanna do that" but then I stop to think about it and it's like "alright, where do I start to make it work.... oh sh*t"
Miraculous Ladybug could have been a fire show if the romance stuff was completely cut out in favor of their being a greater focus on character development.
Adrien deserved to be in a better show. Blonde boy with an evil dad where have I seen that seen that before where it's actually pulled off better.

Romance itself isn't the problem, the problem is Media writting romance. Instead of doing something simple like "We always together cuz we love each other", the writers always wants to make HUGEST MESS of romance they can, filled with awkward moments that doesn't progress neither the story nor the the romance itself. And if wasn't good enough, the writers drag this thing as far as they can.
But I have to give Miraculous credits for doing something new. In contrast with other shows where the romance stays in status quo or it's actually goes foward, Miraculous has manage to DESTROY the main couple, not like "they don't have chemistry" but Marinette and Andrien's relationship is literally going down hill, they are distancing from each other. I think I never had seen a show where the main couple relationship goes below zero😂.

Canon Marinette is so stalkerish. Even with apprently the recent plot that explains it, it still feels off. Her having PTSD for how bad the bullying was is interesting tho
I've given up on watching canon show and instead reading fanon comic instead. I would recommend the Feralnette series by bigfatbreak. Also I think the main ship is Mari and Felix(closer to trailer felix but still different, they are also a ballet dancer :) )
In the comic Chloe's character motivation is actually interesting. And Lila is even worse
That episode also makes other characters less likeable. For example, Kim?
He didn't seem like the type of person who would endanger someone's life over a "prank" but that's what happened in the episode.
Kim could have still worked as the reason why Marinette has trust issues. Like that would explain why she got irritated so much with Chat Noir. But that's not what they're using Kim for 😅

i think i’ll keep lucky charm, but repairing everything after an akuma significantly lowers the stakes and definitely makes her overpowered, so i’ll probably take away that aspect

Yeah, honestly, it would've been nice if that was actually addressed properly in the show, like that being the main reason why Cat Noir is considered the "sidekick" or something similar or if they wanted there to be less disconnect between the two Adrien's flaw with not having listened to his kwami whenever he started made it so that he didn't realize he had a power he *greatly needed* or at least would've been helpful to have and for example Plagg didn't want to get interrupted again whenever explaining which I think would've been a really cool plot device to have hanging over Adrien's head in the show because 1 it'd show the mistrust Plagg has in his holders after being in the hands of ones who went rouge, 2 it could show Adrien as a much hastier character then what's shown to us and explain Chat Noir's character better, and 3 if they were fighting an akuma that had needed the power it could show the long term consequences of having to deal with the fact that unlike Marinette he wasn't taking it seriously which would've been that the power he needed was unknown to him rather than him just being tossed around like a rice sack in their first battle.

Being someone who likes Marinette, I can agree that there are some unlikeable things about her. Like her attitude as Ladybug. I HATE how she treated Cat Noir in some scenes. And also how she literally never shared anything about herself as ladybug. I know that she had to keep her identity secret in case Hawkmoth ever somehow found out, but she was just SO over the top about it. The fact that she like, NEVER shared her emotions with Cat Noir just made their relationship not as close (in a professional way) than it could've been throughout the show. Also I hate how Marinette literally stalks adrien.
I understand that she doesn't do it anymore? Since they are already couples and it would be stupid for Mari to still be a stalker.

i always though ML would do better with a chiller MC and even as a kid, I hated the way Ladybug/Marinette treated both Cat Noir/Adrien in both contexts.
As heroes, Ladybug is so dismissive of Cat Noir, it's infuriating. And as civilians, Marinette treats Adrien like an exotic animal or something. The stalking is weird; the writers def could have done the whole anxious girl watching her crush way better.
Also, New Paris? It's giving San Fransokyo from BH6 and I love it.

Honestly part of the fun of having ocs is to fix any grievances in a story you dislike,and I have been doing that with my ocs for years now. You sharing your oc and explaining how she would affect the story really made me happy that I'm not the only one who does so. Cringe is dead, or that's what they say I think.
Lucky,idk if your into doing more hero designs. But I think it would be cool if you made super hero's themed around different zodiacs. Maybe inspired by the lady bug franchise but making it your own thing. Just an idea that may be fun if you liked making the super hero's in this. I just think it would be cool to see the idea of zodiac inspired hero designs more,the only one's I really know about are Miraculous Lady bug and Zodiac knights.
I haven't watched much of Miraculous ladybug (Randy Cunningham 9th grade Ninja was my jam tho. They're pretty similar in terms of villain powers if you like the potential!)

When it comes to stuff like this I far prefer replacing the whole cast rather then just one. Idk, just gives more to work with if that makes sense? Just personal preference I guess, I've never felt very interested in shipping ocs with canon cast, always felt weird for me. Always been pretty strictly oc x oc or canon x canon. That's not me saying other people can't do what they want of course, it's just a show lol. When it comes to Marinette specifically though, in a way i blame the writers a lot more for how the cast turned out because they don't know how to write teenagers coherently in the slightest. And they think cringe = funny when the cringe they write makes me want to rip my hair out. Like the statue scene. Took me an hour. An. Hour. *And then they try to retcon that as a good thing, like no, that sucked, why'd you make me see that again.*

I think its because you can kinda see the hand of the author a little too much when its oc x canon, like, a LOT of those stories just aren't written with an audience in mind. The authors tend to know their ocs inside and out so will cut corners in writing that normally only works for characters that everyone knows really well.

I like Lila’s design too, I love a manipulative antagonist, I love the idea of having more than JUST the akumatized villains that you can’t learn to like or empathize with or watch them as they gain development…. At all… and her having a sister, that’s adorable (and a possible catalyst for drama if Lila ever reforms), and I love her clothes, they’re pretty

If you're open for ideas, how about designing your own Animal Crossing villagers or redesigning some of your least favorite villagers? If yad rather do humans, you can do their gijinka forms and let someone else/viewers design their animal form

This is honestly such a power move, good for you 😂 The only thing I disagree with is changing Paris to New Paris. I understand the urge to put characters in more familiar environment, but I feel like there's so much american superhero stuff that changing purely european setting is not very fun :(
