    Earlier I watched your review of RSP1a - Basic Setup. In comments I asked for a video of RSPdx, and here it is. I have an RSPdx and am using it with an MFJ-1886 loop antenna. Thanks for video.

    Neat stuff! It's amazing you can receive AM stations in the long wave band.

    Just bought RSPdx here in the UK, to go alongside my RSP1A. I am getting great LW reception, on my random wire antenna.

      Hi, is there any difference in reception on HF / VHF-UHF, EXCEPT the LW HDR? I don't wanna spend more than the RSP1A costs... 🤭👍

    Thanks for the good video. I just got the dx model and don't have any experience in the low frequency bands. I'll have an 80/40 dipole up shortly and looks like I should be able to hear some things anyway. Good explanation of some of the buttons I was looking at last night but didn't know what they were.

      HRO is supposed to get stock in the next two weeks so I hope to get this unit soon. My antenna is coming on Monday. I settled on a EFHW-8010 from MyAntennas as a first HF antenna. It made the most sense to me only for its ease of installing in the house-yard situation I have at the moment. I have a tower that was given to me and have one that I have had up for years for Internet access.

    • @SevenFortyOne
      @SevenFortyOne  Před rokem

      Rspdx is newest but not necessarily better than the Duo. the Duo has a dual receiver architecture that allows you to do things the dx can't. But, the dx has some enhancements that Allow it to work a little better than the Duo below 2MHz

    Good video thanks. I'm still looking for information about scanning 4 separate freqs. I can set up a bank but the scanning window uses Preferences instead of selecting a bank. I can't find anything in the manual either. For preferences it asks you to select a range instead of actual freqs. Do you know if there is a way to do this? Thank you,

    • @SevenFortyOne
      @SevenFortyOne  Před 4 lety +2

      You have to click the "mem" button to get it to scan the memories instead if the ranges. It's right above the skip and pause buttons in the scanner pane

    • @SevenFortyOne
      @SevenFortyOne  Před 4 lety

      I'm using a fan dipole with legs cut for 40 and 80 meters. I don't use tuners for receiving - just straight connection of the antenna as it is to the radio

    I just checked my version and it is 1.32 and when I go to the update button it says I have the latest version. I am going to be ordering the RSPdx as soon as available, I have the SDRplay right now I guess, the plastic one, so maybe it has something to do with that, I might have to go to the website to download the new version when I get the new SDR.

    • @SevenFortyOne
      @SevenFortyOne  Před 4 lety

      V1.33 will be released next week when the rspdx is available for purchase. The rspdx will only work with v1.33 so you will need to download it before you use the rspdx.

    What about saturation of the MW band like ALL the other RSP's do? Seems the RSPdx is improved on this, but i cannot see any evidence so far. Would be nice if you could make a video with a decent size antenna connected on MW. Thanks for showing the new development.

    • @SevenFortyOne
      @SevenFortyOne  Před 4 lety

      I don't have any problems with AM saturation. What is your idea of a decent sized antenna? I'm using a 40/80 meter fan dipole for this video.

    • @SDR-DXobserver
      @SDR-DXobserver Před 4 lety

      @@SevenFortyOne I asked this because I saw you reduced the RF-gain on some parts of the video. With such a dipole normally no saturation can not be possible on MW. Thanks for the reply.

    I am bewildered why you would even demonstrate AM stations/signals that are inaudible. You mean to say that out of the thousands of frequencies in AM or VHF/UHF, aircraft, marine, amateur, etc the ones you picked were the only stations that you could pick to demonstrate the radio’s performance? Mate, you seriously need some new antennas!

    • @SevenFortyOne
      @SevenFortyOne  Před 4 lety +2

      I'm bewildered that you missed the point of the demonstration. I mentioned in the video that I was focusing on receiving signals below 2MHz which is not normally something most radios available in North America are good at. I feel the fact that I could receive European Long Wave broadcast stations in North America on a less than ideal antenna for the band in question, even though they are weak, is worth demonstrating and proves the radio is working as intended. If you want to see a demo of a clean AM signal, feel free to watch one of my other SDRplay videos, I believe I've covered that in the past.
