  • Preparations for the Paris Olympics are in their final stages and river Seine will play a starring role in the games. National teams will sail down the waterway during the opening ceremony on July 26. Swimming events are also scheduled to take place in the river. But it's still not clear whether the water quality will be good enough for that.
    France's sports minister Amelie Oudea-Castera has taken a plunge into the Seine to show that swimming events in the water is safe.

    The fact it's actually a question whether or not it's safe to swim in is enough to say it's not safe to swim in. Why even bother?

    The quality of the water looks closer to a sewage drain than to a river.

    The Paris mayor said she'll swim in Seine next week, and Macron also said he's willing to do. Macron had shown pictures of him boxing. I bet Macron is planning to dive into Seine from the bridge at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics with his fit body, and he should. It's gonna be extremely uplifting and his approval rating will rise dramatically!

    I bet lots of people are thinking about sharks after watching 'Under Paris'. Politicians are a sharks favourite food.

  • @AurediumRiptide
    @AurediumRiptide Před měsícem +2

    I would not swim in it. Where I live water quality is arguably one of the highest priorities (not just drinking water also of rivers). We have a yearly contest to swim in one of them and the water gets tested before it happens. Turns out last year a flooding caused sewage overflow and leaking in the river between the testing and contest. As a result a lot of people got sick in the contest.
    So I would definitely NOT swim in a massive river flowing through a metropolis. My city is not that big but Paris? Massive industrial complex, heavy traffic (that might dump some waste in between unofficially). Its just not safe.

    • @dylanmccallister1888
      @dylanmccallister1888 Před měsícem +1

      @@walli6388 its a combined system like the Portland OR sewer system, everytime there is a heavy rain the storm water overflows the system and it dumps into the river to prevent backflowing into the streets.
      There is no control in a combined system so unless they can control the weather to only 4 heavy rains a year a lot more is being dumped into the river and they are lying about it.
      It would be the only city on the planet with a combined sewer system that doesnt dump the overflow into the river its next to.
