! ~ If you have any issues with understanding some of the points made in this video, or are thinking "Sonny, you forgot something!", please read or reply ~ !
    - This is not supposed to be a one-way, concise answer that closes the case. This video will not lay your questions to rest. That is not how the video ends. It is a compilation and deep dive into many different rabbit holes that appear to be the most prevailing takes garnered by the community over the past couple of years. Claiming that I have found "THE answer" would ultimately be misleading and biased, and destroys the entire point of this video. I give you the thought experiments, you parse through the info and come to your own conclusions.
    - The Brain's Chirithy animated segments have nothing to do with the theory, they were something for UX fans to chew on and enjoy. It was something fresh and served to push the boundaries of what we perceive as expendable "content". Some people don't really resonate with the artsy side of it all, they just want the information. Surprisingly, an amount of people seemed to get confused, thinking that Brain's Chirithy was integral to the theory, but I'm not here to make things up and feed you headcanon. If you know anything about UX, making the jump to assume his Chirithy had anything to do with the whole Brain/Luxu fiasco just ain't it. No evidence for it. It was just a nice treat! I spent a lot of time making it. Although... Chirithy's hat serving as Brain's medium would be a neat idea, huh?
    - This was all written and edited before the 2nd Missing Link trailer dropped, so just a thing to keep in mind!
    - In the final parts of the "Data Backup" segment, which appears to be the most confusing for a lot of people, I was alluding to the possibility that the Real Daybreak Town (RDT) and the Data Daybreak Town (DDT) serve as the prerequisites for Reality and Unreality, as two split alternate universes/timelines. Gothic Scala is (theoretically) unrealities' version of Scala, inhabited by descendants of the Data Backups of the Dandelions, whom the REAL Brain (Luxu's Apprentice) awoke from RDT's side all those years ago. If (Data?) Brain took the pod from DDT without a destination, perhaps he ended up in the future of DDT; Gothic Scala. If Player died in the cable tunnel, not the real world, perhaps that's why they were reincarnated in Gothic Scala. If Strelitzia's heart remained within Lauriam (as discussed in this video), and her data backup was sent to the future instead of the real person, perhaps she materialized on the other side, too. Quadratum and Verum Rex have this air of "futuristic Magitech" and "Virtual Reality", super indicative of the whole video game inspiration and the Datascape itself. Missing Link even implements geolocation. Judging by the latest trailer, who really knows? But that was the basic rundown of that section. I implore you to tear me apart in the replies if you have any rebuttals!
    - When "body-hopping" in the Kingdom Hearts series takes place, such as with Xehanort and Terra, the possessor takes control of the victim's heart, and only then by extension, their body. Terra only coexisted with Xehanort because of his strong will, and with a little help from Eraqus. Xehanort did not expect Terra to still exist after taking his body. This further denotes that Brain's body was not taken, least of all his heart. The victim's heart is gradually "swallowed" by the possessor's heart, as quoted by Nomura in an interview around 2014. Pair this with the differences between Xehanort's "incomplete" transition (silver hair and yellow eyes) and Luxu's seamless transition (even without a Keyblade), and it's safe to assume that Luxu's mastered version of this technique will give Brain's heart absolutely no hope of survival. People have theorized that Luxu may be able to "remove" or separate Brain's heart from his body and manipulate it in real time, but there's no evidence currently that could suggest the plausibility of that, especially with how Luxu takes other bodies in the series. When Terranort turns Braig into a nobody, we only see one heart erupt; Luxu's, probably. Braig's original heart seems to have melted into Luxu's.
    - I am of the firm belief that a pod needs something tangible and physical to trigger. Not saying that this is fact, but even the True Dandelion had some sort of form. Even though my previous point further dismantles the notion that Luxu "removed" Brain's heart from his body, I just highly doubt that he can just... put it in the pod by itself and have it work?? Like, why not just send Brain to the future with the pod, then? Why even take his body when there's seemingly nothing wrong with Luxu's original body? If Brain DIDN'T use the lifeboat, how else would he have time travelled? Doesn't make a lick of sense. In order to justify the vessel theory, you need to THEN introduce a number of sub-theories and what-ifs, on top of just assuming the reports are wrong for whatever reason. Y'know, despite the fact that any reports in the series have yet to be wrong or disproven. KH1's reports do not count for obvious reasons, such as the game being written with no definitive proof of future success. Ansem in KH1 was just Ansem, it's only when the series took off that they decided to develop his origins.
    - When Darkness and MoM are discussing a world of imagination, the Darkness ponders a connection to the data world. However, immediately after this, MoM quashes that idea and says its something entirely new. Many have garnered this as proof that the datascape bares no relation to Quadratum or Unreality. While I understand that, it also doesn't shy away from the possibility that the datascape at least served as the prerequisite for a brand new universe. Even when Sora's Station of Awakening appears before his fight with Yozora, we're then introduced to a data projection of an abandoned Shibuya at night. In the Missing link beta, Freya says the Astral Plane is a place comprised of "mental energy" (imagination?) and that nobody lives there. Hmm.
    - Luxu says that when Data Daybreak Town (DDT) falls to darkness, that's it. However, when Real Daybreak Town (RDT) falls, it still remains destroyed in the real world and doesn't fall into slumber or lay within the realm of darkness. I find it more than possible that DDT followed to same fate; left abandoned and in ruins. If you remember, there were no Darknesses left in the data world. 8 are trapped in hearts (Luxu, Ven, Foretellers and MoM), 4 are left stranded and locked away in the Cable Tunnel which is already described as not being from our world, and the final Darkness entity is last seen in the real world with Luxu.

Is it possible that Luxu needed Brain to be a waypoint? If he and Brain become one in the past in reality and Brain is also in the future of Gothic Scala, then the time travel mechanics of KH3 become relevant again. There would be a vessel waiting for Luxu in Gothic Scala.
Luxu can presumably already travel through time using the Gazing Eye as a medium, but it seems unclear whether he can travel to Gothic Scala Ad Caelum and ensure the presence of the Gazing Eye there as well.
So I think that he may have sent data Brain into the future and trained the real Brain as his apprentice in the keyblade graveyard, hopping between both versions of Brain.
Brain *is* the missing link; Brain is a reliable waypoint to an integral part of the history foretold in the book of prophecy and he or some other faction leader was always sent in the lifeboat to Scala Ad Caelum. Does that work out?
This would mean that the Master of Masters now has one Gazing Eye in reality and one Gazing Eye in unreality.
Furthermore, Ava may have introduced a virus. Yes, Luxu is the traitor, but Ava added a corruption. She gave the book of prophecy to Brain, rather than Ephemer and if Brain was always meant to be the apprentice of Luxu, this gives Brain enough time to try and counteract Luxu and MoM's schemes as Luxu's apprentice.
The question is: Has the Data Backup read the book? Would a recompleted Data-Brain know everything that Brain has since learned from the book of prophecies?

This video is so well edited. I'm very passionate about my theories as well. I do think the fandom gets away from itself sometimes. Occam's Razor.
Using design language but not too complex, plus the background knowledge.
I have very reason to believe Brain is the "true dandelion."
Rules of time travel to not always require the life boat.
I believe the figure in the white blanket is just a replica body, meant for Brain. When his heart arrives in Scala.
That mirror scenes are 2 different times and Luxu returns to the Badlands once more after the destruction of Daybreak Town.

I'm not sure what your source is for the extrapolation that Luxu's body hopping(all body-hopping by this comment) is some form of the same type of process as Xehanort's possession. Sure, Xehanort tried to consume Terra's heart using darkness to posess his body, but Riku-Replica just pops his future heart into the body and yeets his past heart out and they just put Namine's heart in the body. I don't see why Luxu couldn't be doing the same thing, just yeeting people's hearts out of their bodies either into the future or the data world or somewhere else, then popping his heart in the body.

Luxu is the person we see in the desert, with the sword and the box and thats his original face. Brain is like a data version of him but without the sword, or the box but what a coincidence that he does have the book. Is like two sides of the same coin. I do think Luxu took off his coat somewhere along Union Cross, probably because he wanted to read the book he never got. (Thats why people think theres a fake Brain, but is not a fake, is actually the original Luxu without his coat, simple). I think i just cracked the whole Luxu/Brain thing with that fact, it makes total sense.

The part about a data version of strelizia being sent to the future and ending up in the future of a FICTIONAL WORLD has me thinking that you are right and there may be 2 timelines. One is real daybreak town ->dark road scala->the kh universe as we know it from the console games. The second may be data daybreak town to missing link scala to unreality. It would explain why maleficent and Pete couldn’t find the box and maleficent surmises that the box simply doesn’t exist at that certain point in time but does after the keyblade war. It also explains how xigbar and young xehanort were the only ones who knew about sora reversing fate in kh3 after the whole squad got killed in the keyblade graveyard. It’s funny how all the charachter who we see traverse time and space or do ex machines stuff in these games are charachters who have been in BOTH timelines (Xehanort and his young self, xigbar, the master of master and now sora in quadratum, the player etc.). If there are 2 timelines, could there also be 2 book of prophecies? The kh1 secret reports talked about 2 legends, one where the keyblades wielder brought peace to the world, and another where the wielder brought chaos upon it. Also, could Soras actions at the end of kh3 have been what finally unified the 2 timelines, hence why reality and unreality seem to be set to cross paths in the future? Sora defeated xehanort in a dream (fictional version) of a real world (scala ad Caelum)

In a Dengeki Playstation magazine interview with Tetsuya Nomura back in 2019, Nomura did state outright that as Luxu departed the collapsing Daybreak Town, he also discarded his original body. I agree that Luxu looks and sounds like a young man, but his reasons for taking new bodies don't always coincide with growing old. He was masquerading as the teenage Bragi in Dark Road, but brings up that he considered possessing Baldr (who was a little older).
My theory for WHY Luxu switched bodies involves the massive cliffhanger scene where he confronts one of the lesser True Darknesses. Luxu draws his keyblade and makes it clear he's about to fight it. Darkness reminds Luxu that this is pointless since it can't be destroyed without a physical form. A statement that Luxu fully agrees with, and yet prepare for battle regardless. The scene then ends abruptly. I believe Luxu trapped that Darkness inside of his body. However, since Luxu is already a vessel for one of the 7 more powerful True Darknesses, I don't think he kept this one around. I believe Luxu transferred his heart into Brain's body, but did not bring the Lesser Darkness along for the ride. So it remained stranded in Luxu's old body. This gave it the physical form necessary to kill it, Luxu destroys his old body and the Darkness dies with it. Luxu then sends Brain's freed heart into the future to save him.
I'll also note that while Luxu was tasked to hand down No Name, he was not supposed to give away the box. MoM gave Luxu the box for HIM to protect, and promise that it would never be opened under any circumstance. In the epilogue of Union X, we see a black coated figure dragging the box through the desert. This is the same scene shown at the end of Back Cover, but they showed us whose face is under the hood. However, in Back Cover, we actually get to hear the voice, which still belongs to Luxu.
There are two possibilities for why Luxu's reports contain incorrect information. One is a retcon, these have happened before in the series. Even major ones. In Dream Drop Distance, a late teens Young Xehanort states that he is from a point in time prior to when he first left the islands. KH3 and Dark Road both altered this and made it so that YX left the islands and became a keyblade wielder at a much younger age. There's also at least one other inaccuracy with Luxu's diary as well. Specifically his claim that he watched 5 of the Union Leaders depart in the lifeboats. Setting aside that he didn't even know their identities at the time (he had to ask Brain if he was one), Luxu only witnessed 3 people depart. Lauriam, Elrena and Ventus (two of whom weren't even Leaders). Ephemer's pod was buried under rubble and didn't depart at all, he was protected from the destruction but left stranded adrift at sea. Skuld's pod was buried as well and it's starting to seem quite plausible she remained too.
The other possibility is that there's some planted deception going on from Luxu for an unseen person reading his words. There was a scene in the original Missing Link teaser where a hooded person wielding No Name covers its eye up as if they want to prevent it from seeing. That entire era is said to be "unwritten", so one wonders if it worked somehow. If Luxu was in on this plot (and I believe he's the person in the coat there covering the eye), then perhaps he's planting lies in there for someone to read and make a mistake over. After all, Luxu's role is that of a "traitor", and he even seemed to catch onto this by the end of Union X and began acting on his own out of line with what the Master told him to do. Then again, he also may be planting information in there in an attempt to deceive the Darknesses instead. Mirroring how the Master wrote the book of prophesies in a way that was intended to mislead the Darknesses who he knew would read it. Perhaps Luxu is doing the same with his journal entries. I'll also note that this would not be the first time personal journals contained outright lies in the series. The Ansem reports in KH1 almost in their entirety were written by an imposter and contain other deceptions beyond just the author's name.

    • @SonnyNovus
      @SonnyNovus  Před 9 měsíci +13

I appreciate the reference to old interviews, many of us theorists always harken back to them! But as many of us in previous videos have pointed out, they are just as susceptible to retconning or altering as anything in-game is. Probably even moreso. I even have an entire video discussing that whole Young Xehanort fiasco. Also, literal translation can often lack intent and is thus susceptible to biased fan interpretation. If Nomura stated years ago that "Luxu discarded his body after departing the collapsed Daybreak Town"... well does that not in and of itself confirm that Luxu still retained his original body for some time after the fall of Daybreak Town?
The reports explicitly state that Luxu bestowed No Name to one of the five Union Leaders, THEN left the land Keybladeless, THEN began sojourning his heart into vessel after vessel. Making the assumption to propose these reports have been retconned is a far bigger reach than just taking them at face value.
The sole reason this video exists is because it's quite staggering to me just how many people just outright disregard Luxu's reports entirely. Sure, some people may just forget they exist and people make mistakes, that's fine, but knowing they exist and yet still choosing to theorize that Luxu must have taken Brain's body is something else. Let's just play devil's advocate and say they WERE retconned; would they not just release an update and correct the text? It's not like these tidbits are disclosed in voiced, animated cutscenes that they can't go back on. It's very strange that many people consciously pounce at the idea that "Nope! Luxu's wrong. The reports are wrong. He must've taken Brain's body", despite the overwhelming amount of contradicting evidence even outside of the reports.
I'm sorry, but Luxu's reports do not allow this to happen. Luxu bestowed his Keyblade to one of the five Union Leaders, and was Keybladeless in his original body for some amount of time before choosing to body hop. There is currently no reason to assume that anything was wrong, retconned, dishonest or manipulative. If Luxu took one of the Union Leaders as a vessel, the reports would suggest or hint as such. These reports aren't just a window into the minds of the characters who write them, they are valuable handouts of concrete information from the writers of KH specifically for the players to clear the narrative up. We can argue about how specific words and phrases can be interpreted, but Luxu's reports really do paint an exact, step-by-step picture that gives 0 credence to the possibility that he possessed Brain.
I will concede that there's a lot of wiggle room when it comes to "Darkness" and even Ava. We know that both of these characters can shapeshift so perhaps that comes into play? One could even theorize that Brain is masquerading as Luxu, but I just highly doubt it from a writing perspective. It can be speculated that Luxu did absorb that 2nd Darkness within himself, you're right. And yes, even though Luxu had no remorse when possessing Bragi, that was at the very least centuries in the future where Luxu's morals and regards for human life grew to be incredibly compromised. In Daybreak Town, as explored in this video, Luxu is still sympathetic for the Dandelions and even pokes fun at Darkness for wanting to hop bodies, saying it's "sad and pathetic.". Luxu at this point really does still seem to be against body hopping, at least for now.
Sure, even though MoM said he could never open it, Luxu acts out of line all the time. Even Ava accuses Luxu of interpreting the Master's wishes in his own way. This is still the same character who is outed as the traitor, and this title can take forms in many ways. It's way more plausible to me that Brain is an inside man on Luxu's grand scheme, not a stepping stone or a target. He watched as the five were sent to another worldline, and he's been watching from afar (both in and out of the data town) for a while. He doesn't need to be right there in the room literally for this line to be acknowledged.
Once again, Luxu cannot be the person in the Missing Link trailer covering No Name. At this point in time, Luxu would already be undercover in society and keeping vigil over the Keyblade he parted ways with years and years ago. It is incredibly unlikely for Luxu to have ever time travelled by himself prior to being Xigbar and also been in possession of No Name ever again prior to being Xigbar. Assuming that Luxu is the one in the black coat holding No Name in the Missing Link trailer also staunchly contradicts the reports, and also just the simple passing of time.

    • @SonnyNovus
      @SonnyNovus  Před 9 měsíci +9

I'd also like to rebut Luxu's theorized "lying" with the notion that, despite being cunning enough to deceive Darkness easily, it's MoM who he should be worried about. I'm of the firm belief that... well, the reports aren't literal physical pieces of paper wafting through different worlds. They're just tangible interpretations of the thoughts of characters, portrayed in the forms of written words in the games. They're just for us as players. I really doubt so many characters are writing little secret diaries with pens and paper lol. The KH1 secret reports were written by Apprentice Xehanort, and the only lie they seem to bare is the name he of course stole. I don't believe it's a very strong point to compare the reports of the very first game released over 20 years ago to present times, especially considering that the events of KH3 and the X saga were written concurrently, at least to the extent that such huge retconning of the reports is highly improbable. When KH1 was released, Nomura would have a vague idea how a sequel would pan out IF the game was a commercial success, but these KH3 reports are very, very different. At that time, Ansem was just Ansem.
The only way this would be plausible for Luxu to successfully lie to MoM is if Luxu already did some sort of... black magic spell to the eye in the Keyblade before he even met Brain. I'm not really willing to believe that, especially seeing as how the events in the BoP are still in tact.
Luxu lying to Darkness doesn't make sense considering that one is theoretically sealed inside of him when he meets Brain anyway, regardless of what happened with the other Darkness. The MoM would see who he gives it to, giving heed to his line "You need to pass down this Keyblade to your apprentice, and then HIM to HIS, so that my eye can see the future.". The Book of Prophecies is absolute proof that Luxu, at least in his early days, heeded the Master's instructions to an acceptable standard for it to exist.

    • @Fragmentsinfractals488
      @Fragmentsinfractals488 Před 9 měsíci

I disagree. I believe the Reports Luxu made are written down. That is to trick the Darkness.
The Darkness only cares about Darkness things. They say it about the Book of Prophecies They watched wrote. So, Luxu knows how to fool Them
      .
And The Master knows Luxu knows. That the point. The Master and The Ancient Darkness made a Truce Contract and wrote the Book of Prophecies as that "Contract", but Luxu is the Traitor to that Contract. The Master knows this, and sets Luxu up to , through actions of his Heart, break the contract, and cause Darkness to lose.
So, Luxu lied in the Reports, and The Master knows this, but Darkness doesn't, because the Ancient Darkness doesn't pay attention to Light things .
They like possession, infecting and vessels. Friendship, Loyalty, Light, they don't care about that, literally. These gaps in Knowledge which Darkness have because of their psychology (Which The Master teaches Luxu about), can be taken advantage of.@@SonnyNovus

Remember the Master intentionally didn't write everything down in the Book, (because the Ancient Darkness watched him do it).
Also, the Master is gaslighting Luxu when he talks to him to "set him up to be the Traitor". He is making Luxu have Doubts so he can be possessed by a Darkness. So, the Book isn't proof of anything. In fact, the Master seems to be using Luxu to manipulate the Darkness. @@SonnyNovus Perhaps what is actually written in the Book does have Luxu using the Darkness to possess Brain, (Darkness would like that) but Luxu never sees the Book while still under the Master.

This video was perfect. I've been so confused about the ending of KHUX and what its trying to tell us about Brain and Luxu. There were too many things going on that it was hard to really get a grasp of what we're suppsoed to be able to tell at this point in the story. This was yhe first video I've seen that really dissects what's going on with Brain and Luxu and analyzes multiple theories in one place.
Even after watching this video, I think I'm still pretty uncertain what to believe, but now i know a lot more details that I wasn't thinking about before. I never even considered that Gothic Scala and white Scala could be actual different places and that Gothic Scala could be unreality. It could make sense why it's typically shown with a night sky similar to Yozora and the night version of the Final World. Can't wait to see how these theories hold up in the future.
It probably wouldn't have fit the vibe of the video but I think it would have been helpful for me to have a summary at the end that quickly reemphasizes what you think is most likely going on. This was a long video with so much good content that it was hard to sort out in my brain by the end of it. Maybe this could be another quick video idea?

I feel like it's really important for every KH fan to play Type-0, formerly known as Agito XIII. Luxu's counterpart, Lean Joker, wears a hood throughout the whole game. Underneath the hood, he has the same face as Machina, a significant main character. Lean refers to Machina as "the other me" for reasons that were only explained later in the Ultimania. (They're separate people, but he takes Machina's place in various timelines.) Machina looks exactly like Brain. (And it's worth noting that Roberto Ferrari's design of Lean's true face looks exactly like Bragi. Because it's funny.) I haven't been able to figure out what this means for KH, but when you said that maybe Luxu just looks like Brain, I laughed. That didn't sound strange to me at all.

@@SonnyNovus I’ve been suspecting that Ava actually fell to Darkness for a while now. The order as such
Ava and Gula search for Luxu while hoping he could tell them where MoM is. Ava finds Luxu gets told enough secrets to give into Darkness and become possessed (maybe not fall all the way yet). Then Ava covered in Darkness finds MoM near where she talked to Luxu and is the Darkness MoM explains his plan to in “The Purpose,” then Ava eventually clashes with Luxu and fully falls to Darkness becoming Dark Ava (her heart falling asleep within Darkness), thus when Ven seals Dark Ava within himself Ava’s sleeping heart is also sealed within Ven.
This fits with what Luxu told us about Ava’s fate and nicely ties together some of the more out there scenes (as Player seeing visions of MoM speaking with Darkness is odd, unless Player had been connected to either that Darkness of MoM)

Yes! Brain and Luxu's interaction had a butterfly effect that resulted in the tear in the fabric of time in KH3. What exactly happened between them is the big mystery, if "Darkness" or Ava has a role to play in this etc.
If it really is Data Brain in Gothic Scala, I wonder how much he knows? Would a Data copy of a person still retain ALL of their memories? If so, does that mean Data backups have the capacity to update in real time based on the condition of the original? Naturally, this is all nothing but conjecture and what-ifs. This is the biggest and most pivotal mystery in all of KH at the moment.

  • @ultimateshadeofwar
    @ultimateshadeofwar Před 9 měsíci +20

Okay first things first, the 3d animations, beautiful, props to everyone involve in then, and you, Sonny, for the idea.
Second, this is a collection of why we have no idea of what happen... And i love it, because it truly is a Brain teaser, we either don't have everything or we need something else... And ironically, i think that yesterday we got something that gives your last case more strength... You had some strange luck with when this came out didn't you, with the Astral Plane being presented on Missing Link and what's imply to be.
Finally, Namine video incoming? WHOHO!!! This can be very interesting.
P.S: Oh i forgot to mention, i think im the only one in the KH community that doesn't believe that Sora is the child of destiny... Because we see Ventus and Terra do similar things that Sora does and we are a 100% sure they don't have the same power as Xehanort. Ironically i think it's Riku, because of how much he struggles with Darkness, in fact, i would find it fitting, the 2 cases, Xehanort the one can't handle this kind of power just like Baldur, and Riku the one that struggle with it, but in the end because of his friends had a stronger will to resist it. Heck, when you look at the series, while Sora is clearly the main protagonist, Riku is the one that allows Sora and others to reach such highest. Examples:
    - His taunting in Hollow Bastion is what puts Sora in a situation to re-evaluate everything he went through.
    - In 358/2 he is the trigger for Xion to understand herself, which in turn triggers Roxas path, if Riku wasn't there everything would have gone Xemnas way.
    - In KH2, he is in the shadows guiding and making everything he can to in the right moment to allow for Sora to succeed and even rescue Kairi, so Sora can focus on the Organization.
    - 3D he is the one that gets a deeper understanding of himself and saves Sora from his darkness, something that Sora has never had to deal with until then, and even then it's debatable if he has learn about this or will learn about how to deal with it. Which if he is the destine child like Xehanort, it's a bad sign isn't it?
    - Finally in the final battle, he is the trigger that allows Sora to not give up and save everyone, if it wasn't for Riku's actions and words, everything would have gone according to the book.
So yeah, all of this makes me believe it's Riku, it also would fit the kind of roles they play story wise when they are written, FF protagonist aren't just shounen protagonist in the traditional sense, they aren't stupid, they are smart, not smart enough to outthink the antagonist. But smart enough to be able to plan against then. Disney protagonist, if we go to the Disney own created properties of the classic era, they are more like the every day person, kind of what Nomura always say about Sora, he is just a normal child.
Now Nomura can change his opinion, but having in mind that FF protagonist can also have the CHOSEN ONE troupe in some cases, and how Riku is similary written with then, because FF protagonist also struggle with the good and bad that they have, their light and darkness... Well, it kind of fits Riku to a T right?

It is filled with prophecy and the things in it are true, but he never wrote down the stuff actually important. He didn’t want to risk Darkness learning things they shouldn’t know so only carefully selected the information he didn’t mind people knowing. Then to complete the trick wrote his prophecies in very vague terms so that no one could ever hope to get a full picture. Everything that comes from reading the book is carefully engineered.

I’ve always felt like the consistent references to data versions and having a singular pod in the data version hinted towards Brain having more than one version of himself existing, but it was so cool to see all the theories and ideas around it covered with all potential evidence that would support and contradict it. Plus the 3d models were amazing with the whole production and editing of the video creating a narrative inside the video.
I never knew about the way the voice actors were either chosen or auditioned though, so I’m glad you brought that up. It actually made me think cause maybe it is Luxu’s VA doing a stand in line for a future Brain VA, but I wonder if it could also just be played straight? They both are voiced by the same VA because they likely wouldn’t (I won’t say never, but…) have a voiced scene with Young!Luxu and Brain. Xigbar’s voice is the voice Luxu would have for the rest of series going forward and is what most fans would consider to be Luxu’s voice now as Bragi had his dialogue match with Xigbar’s than how he spoke in Back Cover. Idk if this would ever even potentially be possible, but it is fun to think about either way.

Amazing video!! The effort pot in to make this video was well worth it because the polish and the impact are there. Love the focus on Brain being appointed as Luxu's apprentice. I think you hit the mark there.
I would couple things to the theory.
    - First would be that there are people in the switcharoo that would be both Luxu and Brain as who gets to call the shot. As the world was ending, Luxu commended Brain on his intelligence, and what a waste it would be, thus having the next scenes where we see Brain/Luxu in the Keyblade graveyard and then the scenes in Scala ad Calelum. Here, I would say that Luxu made a body swap and took hands on changing the future depicted in the Book of Prophecy.
--TL;DR 1 Luxu let Brain become Xigbar and direct how the events unfolded.
    - Secondly, Brain/Xibar had always been working with Luxu with his face already revealed to us. This part of the theory is a bit shaky because it is based on KH358/2 days, and the 2 clues that the master of masters gave us in UnionX and dark road/kh3 remind
--[UX] The traitor is the one who bear the Sigil ("X")
--[UX DR] Believe what your eyes see, not what you hear (paraphrased)
--[358/2] Xemnas rearranges the nobody's real name with an anogram including "X"
We can start with believing that Xigbar is Brain, because we saw him do a face reveal and we heard the Fortellers call him Luxu. And with those facts, we could look at the list of the Organization XIII members and single out a trio without proper names or revealed names: Xion, Luxord, and Demyx. I think this is the key😅 to understanding who Luxu and Brain are. If we remove Luxord from suspicion because of the secret ending of KH3R and also Xion because she had an explanation. This would leave us with Demyx, and who I would believe is our boy Luxu. This is why he's always passive, because that's what his role was, to simply watch.
--TL;DR2 Luxu is Demxy because he bears thr sigil without a reveal/real name. And proof on next paragraph.
I support this with the one scene in 358/2 Days with Roxas walks into Xigbar, Demyx, and Xion's meeting on DAY 24. Where we see Xigbar unusually out of his aloof character, and we have Demyx changing the topic as they came in. This doesn't happen with another, if we could say, named Organization XIII member. Also, I forgot the day, but another clue in 358/2 Days is the fight between Xion and Xigbar. That fight Xigbar sees Ventus, not Roxas, and further shows Brain's connection to Ventus, who was part of Sora.
    Full TL;DR
-Demyx is luxu, and he simply watches Brain and his plans unfold.
-Brain is Xigbar and mastermind and operator of the events happening in the Kingdom Hearts series.
-358/2 Days is a big key😅 to the mystery of who these people are

The only issue with all of this is that you need to fundamentally believe that the reports of KH3 are wrong, which I'm not willing to entirely concede.
"Amid the chaos, I bequeathed my Keyblade to one of the Union leaders, just as the Master instructed. And now, Keybladeless, I must depart this land to fulfil my final task. This means casting my own body aside and sojourning my heart in vessel after vessel-as many as it takes."
It absolutely confirms that Luxu was Keybladeless in his original body for some time before deciding to take another vessel, meaning that he gave his Keyblade to one of the five Union Leaders and either left them alone or trained them (which harkens back to MoM's instruction to "train a worthy apprentice".) Xigbar actually being Brain instead of Luxu creates a bunch of holes in both the plot and also character motivation. The only reason why MoM was able to travel to DR to meet Xehanort was because his eye was there and also Luxu, who bares the memories. If Bragi was Brain, he'd bare no memories of MoM since he has never interacted with him in the story.
This doesn't even scrape the surface when it comes to Luxu's sympathy surrounding the Dandelions. With Bragi, we can actually infer that Luxu does indeed destroy the heart when he body hops. This is because we don't see a trace of Bragi in modern times, only Braig. If Luxu took BRAIN'S body, his heart would either be lost to darkness or in the final world, or even just fade away. We see a version of Brain just as he's depicted in the UX Finale right there in Gothic Scala, completely unharmed and with memories intact. How can this be? People like to throw around that he sent Brain's "heart" into the future, but how? A lifeboat needs a body to trigger. You can't use that with just a heart. So the box? Now THAT'S beginning a whole other theory just to justify a different one.
Also, I'm sorry, but the reveal of Xigbar being Luxu... only to THEN turn around and reveal himself to actually be Brain is a sloppy double-twist and quite terrible for storytelling/writing. When a twist is built up, going back on it to reinvent it as something else is bad for a narrative. Unfortunately, the KH3 secret reports don't really allow us to have a lot of fun with possibilities 😅
It's very interesting to me that, taking the reports into account, people STILL aren't willing to part ways with the notion that Luxu possessed Brain, despite the sheer amount of incredibly strong contradicting evidence. Again, it isn't impossible because this is KH and it's not like the series hasn't taken liberties with interpretation before, but this is different. The reports are telling us, the audience, what happened. At the moment, integrating logic and literacy makes it highly, highly improbable.

I think we don't have enough clues yet to understand what happened with Brain and who knows what Nomura is cooking but I like that this video presents different possibilities and gives pros and cons for each one
I have to watch it again to understand everything better but I personally think that Scala is not part of unreality but is definitely one of the closest world to it as seen by the recent khml trailer in which people are able to access the astral plain and the name of the world meaning stairway to heaven and unreality being a place where people that have died get to
Anyway, sorry for the long comment, the video was amazing and I think every kh fan should watch it

Absolutely fantastic video. With out a doubt the best piece of KH content I have seen in years. Hats off to you! A feathered hat! Now, after thinking about this a bit, I have a different theory.
It’s similar to Apprentice, but better accounts for the details. I call this theory “Nomura is being Sneaky”.
The main thesis is thus: both cutscenes of the UX finale feature the same Brain. They’re just out of order.
What if brain goes directly from daybreak town to scala ad caelum, escaping via the final pod. But he leaves his hat with Luxu in the crumbling Daybreak town. Luxu somehow manages to escape via special keyblade master powers, perhaps similar to how the master travels.
Then Luxu does what Luxu does best, and begins his long multi lifetime quest to survive. He survives for many, many years, until he happens upon a new town: Scala ad Caelum. Just in time for the arrival of his apprentice, brain. He turns in the hat he has been keeping to Sigurd and HQ.
The figure holding NoName in the KHML trailer is actually just Luxu. He’s been around the whole time waiting.
Brain arrives in the “present”, and goes about life in Scala, where he spends time with Luxu, who may or may not be in hiding. This gives plenty of time for them to be a true master and apprentice. Then, after the conclusion of KHML, Luxu and Brain part ways formally, either on good terms or after a falling out. At this time, Brain comes into possession of the coat and the box.
Luxu resumes his body hopping shenanigans, (possibly witnessing the birth of Xehanort to the mystery woman and even orchestrating his adoption by Player2.0) and Brain leaves Scala.
He walks the worlds until he one day ends up at the keyblade graveyard, where he presumably does something to hide the box. This is where we see “scene 1” of the man with brain’s face walking with the box in the graveyard. In this scenario it’s really Brain.
And, It doesn’t matter at this juncture whether the UX finale desert scene is the same one as Back Cover’s. Either it’s Brain in both, or it’s just a cool parallel. Either way it doesn’t matter to the story.
Brain then either continues on his wanderings, or goes back to Scala and starts a family leading down to Eraqus. And Luxu is left to possess bragi, then braig, and then hunt for the box until he finds it at the end of KH3.
There’s only one hole in this, I think you mention that Luxu can’t have the NoName, or else the master could be pulled to that time. Yet in my theory, Luxu is seen holding NoName in scala in the trailer. There could be a few reasons for this, but what if NoName has the ability to manifest copies of itself like Kingdom Key can? We know that Roxas could summon Kingdom Key, and wield it at the same time as Xion had hers. Maybe that means that Luxu could hold NoName even if he had already given it to brain. That could also explain why the eye is dull in the KHML trailer.
Also, regarding the info we just got about KHML, it seems that our new Player Character arrived on a falling star. Do you think they could be the “true dandelion” seed?

    • @SonnyNovus
      @SonnyNovus  Před 9 měsíci +2

Thanks for the kind words! It was so much fun to make, especially animating the Chirithy sections. I'm really happy how it all turned out!
Truth be told, I've definitely thought about that too; what if they're BOTH depicting Brain but at different times? Unfortunately, the biggest hole in that is, once again, Luxu's secret reports. He explicitly states that ONLY AFTER bestowing his Keyblade to one of the Union Leaders, he left the land "Keybladeless" and only then began body-hopping. It is incredibly unlikely for Luxu to ever be in possession of No Name ever again, until the end of KH3. It's also even more unlikely for Luxu to have ever time travelled by himself before, despite knowing the rules. The BoP is concrete proof of this.
I then arrived at the possibility that, if it actually was just the original Luxu in the Badlands, what if he just sent the real Brain into the future with the final lifeboat and stayed behind by himself... until, amongst the ruins, he finds the only one left: Ephemer. Certainly would be a huge twist if it's actually Ephemer in hiding with the black coat and No Name, right?... but honestly, how plausible is that?? Of course that never made it in the video. Again, it's a result of going down a rabbit hole trying to justify how Luxu's secret reports can be bent and contorted to fit our own logic. It really is clear to me that Luxu bestowed his Keyblade during the fall of Daybreak Town and was Keybladeless for at least a while. Observations Excerpts 1+2 really are the annoying linchpins in every argument, sadly.

This is probably one of the most interesting Kingdom Hearts theories I've seen.
I usually don't watch KH theories, despite being a huge fan of the series myself. Primarily because...well...the series is so unpredictable it's kind of pointless to watch theories about it because 9 times out of 10 they're incorrect because the series often withholds information from us or the revelations are just so insane that it's quite hard to predict what the outcome of these stories will be. (not saying it's wrong to make theory videos, it's just something I've come to realize)
Despite that, this one in particular is interesting because it's not suggesting one idea or one theory...it's just pointing out how weird and mysterious Brain's circumstances are. Makes me more excited for Missing Link.

16:43 this has me thinking- do we actually have any proof that every copy of the book is the same? the book isn’t necessarily magical and self-updating or anything like that- it’s honestly probably just a book, written by hand by the master. who would definitely have an incentive to leave out information in order to mess with people in his grand plan.
he saw the future through his eye, and according to his conversation with darkness, chose what he wanted to write down from that information. and unless daybreak town had ye olde printing presses, he probably had to hand-write every copy- leaving plenty of room to choose who gets what information and who doesn’t.
now, it seems like the foretellers have all read the book in full and discussed it before, so they probably all have the same copy (aside from gula having an extra page.) but they certainly don’t know the part about them having been intended as vessels. (but maybe the master copy did. maybe the version ephemer ended up with did because we know from dark road that the people in scala are aware of the fate of the lost masters.)
but anyway. point being. maybe the copy left on the desk there wasn’t the same as the version that brain received from ava, who received it from the master, who intended it to make its way to ephemer (presumably. unless the master also accounted for brain getting it instead and edited the information accordingly. but then again maybe he accounted for brain not opening it so it flips back to having been written for ephemer.)
maybe the book on the desk had the future brain thought would come to pass, so he was blindsided by the real one. maybe the master left that book there specifically as bait for brain. much to think about

    • @SonnyNovus
      @SonnyNovus  Před 9 měsíci +1

I just don't believe that Brain would keep his cool and remain quiet after finding a whole other copy of the BoP on the desk, and if the books had any distinct differences, it would probably be known and explored. At this point, Brain still refrains from wanting to read the book all that much if at all as seen in his flashback with Ava, so I can't see any reason why he would freely pounce at the chance of reading one on the desk despite having one in his coat pocket that he doesn't want to read. They also discuss the possibility of what would happen if segments in the book were knowingly contradicted, so I'm not entirely sure? I think the BoP is set in stone too, it would be kinda redundant if it could just constantly rewrite itself every time somebody reads something they don't like, huh?
I definitely understand the idea; MoM giving the Foretellers slightly different copies would've totally fallen in line with his grander goal and manipulation, but I think narratively that would just needlessly muddy the water when it comes to character interactions. I think if it WAS a BoP copy on the desk, I believe it would've been called out and explored in UX, being a pivotal plot point. There are a lot of theories as to why Brain acts so "off" at the beginning, but of course this was all in the midst of finding out who killed Strelitzia, before we even knew Lauriam was her brother. I think they just wanted to play into his mystique a little more. But this just seems like a sprite inconsistency because it's never addressed again. It's not as if Brain would keep a second BoP secret, least of all dispose of it.

After my second time watching this, I had a new thought, Maybe this is already a possibility that Sonny is implying in the video, but just wanted to post it in case.
What if the person that we've known as Luxu the entire time post-KXUH is actually Brain? As in, Brain takes over Luxu's role of passing down the keyblade and looking after the box after the basement scene and eventually becomes Bragi and Xigbar. This would make some more sense of the graveyard scene with the Brain face reveal. So in the KH3 secret movie, that Luxu would actually have been Brain. This would make Aced's line "Is that you Luxu?" have a different meaning. Also could explain why Xigbar doesn't know where Ava is and only said she had her own role. The original Luxu may instead know where she is and what her plan is after their fight that began the keyblade war.
And then the original person we know as Luxu could still be watching over everything, but just not have the No Name with him the entire time. It would allow him to act independently of what MoM would want as the eye wouldn't be following him. And if he has to end up being someone we already know instead of a new character, Demyx is always an option. I assumed Demyx would be connected to unreality and Yozora, but being the original Luxu could explain why he seems so lazy and not part of the action. He's actually doing things in the background. I don't remember all of Demyx and Xigbar's interactions, but that would be interesting to look into.
Now for how this would connect to Brain and Sigurd in night Scala, I have no idea. So not sure how likely all this would be, but I think it's an interesting possibility.

First off, this is an amazing video. I love the details on your theories and the presentation. It has to be my top ten videos ever. If it alright with you, I want to give my theories with the ending of Union X. I have two: 1) Luxu did in fact took over Brain's body after the destruction of Daybreak Town 2) The Brain in the Keyblade Graveyard is him, but the time period isn't from the end of Union X, but during the Missing Link Era.
Theory 01: Luxu did in fact stole Brain's body and the reason. The only reason why he would take's Brain's body was because of his fight with Darkness. While it does seemed he was alright after the fight, I believed Luxu was faking it. After making the deal with Brain, he would in fact give Brain the No Name Keyblade BEFORE taking his body so it does not contradict the secret report and send him to the future as he did mention he watch the "Five" travel to another worldline as he would sent Brain's heart to the future while keeping his body out of necessity. I get it might contradict the secret report, but don't forget, the secret report came before Union X ended years later. Nomura no doubt made changes and retcons by the time the ending came out for Union X.
Theory 02: Brain in the Keyblade Graveyard doesn't happen after the destruction of Daybreak Town, but during Missing Link era. Missing Link ties in all three arcs of Kingdom Hearts (X, Dark Seeker, Lost Master), which Brain being the keyblade graveyard ends the X's arc within Missing Link. Remember, when Luxord confronts Xigbar about the Box, Xigbar revealed that the box was protected by keyblade wielders for a long time before it disappeared. My theory is that during Missing Link, Brain would take No Name and the Black Box, which he found in Scala, take them to the Keyblade Graveyard (With a black coat on) to draw out Luxu's current incarnation to gain answers about what happen in the control room. The two dueled, which lead the Black Box to go missing in the battle. Brain would return to Scala, going by the name of Odin since it is Odin who is in possession of both No Name and the Master Defender during Dark Road. Again these are theories and I can tell there is a lot of plot holes in them.

Hi! I have watched your video fully and I really think that you have done some amazing work! Everything that has been theorized about Brain for 2 years put in one video is really cool, and I have not even thought about the possibility of the eventual second Brain being his data backup, the same way Luxu probably retrieved Strelizia's and sent them into the future. However when I finished the video, I have not felt the same excitement as other people in the comment section, even though your video is worthy of all their praise! But then I went to watch and read some stuff from UX and Melody of Memory, and I understood why I wan't excited, because I do not think that the most interesting part about your theory, being the part about Scala from Missing Link being the future of the destroyed data Daybreak Town and that this would create a whole new "worldline" that would lead to Unreality, just as you said that Luxu sending "Data" Strelizia from the real World ended up in her somehow getting to Unreality, because she is "data" and she ended up back to where she was from. The problem is that in the same cutscene from UX you showed, about the MoM talking to Darkness about the fictionnal world, and Darkness asking is it's about a data world, the MoM says that if something can be imagined by them (namely, a data world, like Data Daybreak Town) then it belongs to reality. Even Ansem the Wise in Melody of Memory says that the three realms of their world to which they can travel to (light, darkness and between) belong to their side of reality, and that includes the worlds of memory, data and dream. So even if it was an interesting approach, I think that it's likely not possible that Missing Link's version of Scala is in unreality, and that's the reason it's considered an "unwritten era". The reason is probably due to the influence of the person hiding the gazing eye from No Name in the first trailer of Missing Link. It's certainly not Luxu because there is no reason he would have No Name at that point, so the only other possibility is, like you said it, the real Brain, who exists at the same time as the Data Brain who was sent to the future by his real couterpart and Luxu, and was restored by the medium which is the hat, making it missing from the real Brain. As for Data Strelizia, we still do not know what are the conditions for someone to be sent to Quadratum. What we know about Death in Kingdom Hearts is, as Chirithy said in III, what happens when the heart and body are destroyed at the same time. These persons die and they join with Kingdom Hearts, like Xehanort and Eraqus at the end of III, but he also said that some persist and end up in the Final World, and the common thread between all the stars we can talk to in this world is that they all seem to have lingering emotions, affairs or situation that makes them refuse to die once and for all, just like Sora but he's a special case because Kairi, a princess of heart, helped him keep his body together, as it was said by Naminé. It could absolutely be the case for Strelizia, being trapped in the Final World, and then the possibilities are endless: maybe she is still trapped while her data backup ended up in Quadratum, as Apprentice Xehanort said that the risk to cross-over into reality is possible when sending Kairi to meet the Keyblade's Chosen One, or maybe the fact that her data backup was sent into the future acted as some sort of catalyst for the real Strelitzia trapped in the Final World to cross-over as well, and for them to kinda merge? With Data Strelizia holding some memories within her that were given by Luxu that would get passed on to the real one and give her precious intel that would make her the "True Dandelion", that would really help out Luxu and Brain in their possible quest to mess with the Master's plans, as you very carefully alluded to, Luxu took interest in the "virus" which is 100% Brain. I don't think it's just a coincidence, after all he IS the "Traitor". All in all, I'm happy I watched this video! It made me think about all that and now I have the Brain's data backups to think about as well! Thank you, can't wait to see your future videos!

Thank you for the kind words and in-depth response! I absolutely understand the sentiment behind the whole Datascape vs Unreality thing. Before rebutting, I'd even add to your qualms by saying that Luxu did admit that the DDT (Data Daybreak Town) wasn't like other worlds; it won't fall into sleep mode, but rather it will cease to exist if it falls to darkness. And yes, MoM firmly debunks that this "world of fiction" is NOT the data world, and Ansem The Wise does paint a very vivid picture when it comes to the realms of reality.
Even in the 2nd Missing Link trailer, there are mentions of a clear separation between "Existence" and "Non-existence", so perhaps Missing Link is just an introduction to Unreality and how it is revealed, not Unreality itself.
So I understand. However, I'd like to preface a few things. I wasn't necessarily saying that Unreality was the Datascape, I was saying that Unreality was a completely separate Worldine built FROM the ancient Datascape. When the RDT (Real Daybreak Town) was destroyed, it didn't fall into the Realm of Darkness, it remained in the Realm of Light destroyed. I'd have no reason to believe that the DDT didn't also follow this same fate. There were no Darknesses left to corrupt the world, it was left abandoned. 7 of the most powerful Darknesses are within our newfound antagonists, 4 were trapped in the Cable Tunnel leading to Game Central Station, 1 sought refuge within Ven and became Vanitas and the last Darkness was seen in the real world with Luxu.
Brain's absolute goal was to awaken the Dandelions trapped within the data world from realities side. With the introduction and adamant reinforcement of the existence of Data Backups of every single Dandelion / Union Leader, I'd be hard pressed to believe these aren't playing some sort of integral role. If Brain was successful in become Luxu's apprentice in Reality, then perhaps he was successful in awakening the Dandelions trapped in the DDT. Only question is, where would they go without a way to escape it, like the pods? If our characters weren't even aware we were in a Datascape to begin with, perhaps these awakened Data Backups have no idea what they are and don't even question their own existence and reality.
There are already some stark inconsistencies between the two Scalas aside from looking at face value; Sigurd affirms that Ephemer was the "First Keyblade Master", which isn't true at all. As someone with suspected knowledge of the BoP, they should be well aware of the Foretellers and the MoM. It's like either that statue of Ephemer was made in the image of a boy from the BoP, or they're withholding information. Why would Ephemer's statue be in that version of Scala, only to speculatively be missing from the real one despite staying behind in the real world? If Game Central Station was confirmed as not being a part of our world, harkening back to the whole Virtual Reality and video game inspiration of Unreality, why would it show up so easily accessible in DDT?
Of course, a version of Data will always exist on our side, just like dreams will exist in Unreality. It's interesting to me how MoM was only made aware of this new reality as he's in Daybreak Town, before the worlds fell, due to seeing it in the future most likely. I'd be inclined to believe that MoM was debunking that it isn't the SAME data world that we know, but something birthed to be entirely different. Characters and even writers have been wrong by technicality before, saying that Nobodies don't age when they do, and saying that Terra was within Xemnas when he wasn't.
I'd be surprised if DDT didn't have something to do with Verum Rex and Quadratum, to be honest. If Luxord is said to have been a part of the ancient Keyblade legacy, yet he is seen in Unreality with Yozora, then there must be some sort of history there. Even watching back at that Toy Box trailer, it's incredibly sci-fi and advanced in its Magitech demonstration, very akin to Virtual Reality.
This is all complete conjecture but if I were to wager between whether DDT served relevance or if DDT stayed dormant, I'd go with the former personally. None of what I said actively dismantles any of your points, though! I just think that just Unreality being built upon the backbone of Data, and in turn being made a Virtual Reality, isn't so off the table.

@@SonnyNovus Man, Missing Link has a lot of work! I’m sure that the inconsistencies between the two Scala will be explained in it, but nevertheless I agree that the dormant data daybreak town will eventually have an important role! Wether it’s directly related to Quadratum and Unreality or not, we know that the Verum Rex plotline and the Lost Masters’ will be very connected, and Missing Link will likely be the first piece to give us significant information, before KH IV comes out and we FINALLY get into a deep dive (hehe) to the antagonists of this arc and the whole Verum Rex plotline! (Watched your video about the MoM’s name in between, really liked it! It concurs with my personal thoughts except I did not have the time nor the energy to look out for deep names other than Light or Superbia. Glad at least that people get further away from the stupide Sora=MoM theory and that they get more hyped about the possible connections to Versus XIII !)

The bit about how Ephemer's statue could exist in Unreality Scala, could it be possible that it's based off a Data back up of Ephemer?

I can't even begin to imagine how much work that was put into this video. I was fully engaged the whole time. I have the KH bug again. Thanks so much for sharing your work with us.
