I was Goidwilling today and talking to myself, as usual. I found a cool glass basket but it had a chip. I said “oh, that’s unfortunate” and another reseller said “CRAZY LAMP LADY!” Scared the heck outta me but we bonded.
😂
Lol
Lol
I find myself giving a play-by-play of things on the shelf just like the Crazy Lamp Lady at times- but with no camera that would make it make sense. So far, no one has given me a "you are so crazy" look. lol
I do the same thing!! Lol
I love when the two of you thrift together. Your laughter is contagious. Never let that go. Happy thrifting.
The Jamaican plate is Vera Neumann, designer from the 60's mostly known for textiles; napkins, tablecloths and dish towels. She also had a line of womens scarves. Most are very profitable, if found for the right price!
Scarves and clothing. The signed pieces with the Ladybug are also in a different category of pricing.
Totally came here to yell “ omg that is a VERA NEUMANN plate!!! “ Thanks for being here faster. :)
@@RockabillyRavenVintage if you want any Vera I have. Going even more minimal with the hurricanes ripping through. I mean what is the sense in having if it blows all the way to Georgia?
I find her scarves all the time and they sell super quick
@@elizabethelsasser6802 Good for you! Also check in blouses for a Vera!
That planter is fantastic!! I would have guessed $45-50, but not $295!! And, that was so funny when you and Dagney mixed up carts!!
That VERA plate was everything!! OMG. I LOVE her stuff! Even chipped!
Same!!!
Is it the same VERA that made scarves??
@@chasingthehappily6188 yes it is. Vera Neumann’s design house made everything from scarves, clothing, linens, dishes and accessories.
Omg! That Relpo Queen of Hearts planter is to die for! Great find!
So I watched Dagneys version of this video yesterday…. I love how she describes the precious moments framed picture as “a sweet precious moments framed artwork” and when you walk by it “what in the world?! Those children have very large heads…..” 🤣🤣 the diversity between the two of you is so authentic and awesome.
I was thinking the same thing! I laughed at that!
Where do I find Dagney’s video?
@@ziggityzag1268 flyingpigthrifts on youtube
@@Rachelizabeth86 Thank you! I found it by simply searching her name. It was said at the end of this video, but I couldn’t understand what was being said. Thank, again!
😂😂😂
I have stolen your lingo. I can not stop calling my husband a 'fun sponge' because he is, in fact, a giant fun sponge 😂. Another fun video! Always love when you and Dagny get together and I already saw her side of this video! Fun stuff!! You guys are the opposite of fun sponges. Fun sprinklers?? Yeah, you're the fun sprinklers ❤️
It's neat how I've already watched Dagney's video of this trip. Then to see y'all pick up some of the same items 😂
My jaw dropped when you showed the cute Valentine planter!! 😱😍😂
It just takes a find, like the queen of hearts planter or statue, to make you want to get out there and search for the next treasure!
I thank you for allowing us to live the treasure-hunting adventures through you!
The Wire Fox Terrier dog print was by Lucy Dawson "Taffy - not a thief". Would probably sell for about $30 framed in your booth. Unframed they are about $10-20, depending on breed. I pick up her dog books whenever I get the chance.
See this is one of the reasons I follow. I learn so much.
I read all comments bc of the collective knowledge of this group. (We are a group, right? That’s how I think of us.)
Yes! I discovered her in this last year, and I absolutely LOVE her work. I'd buy up her books too if I found them :) I have a framed piece form the 1930s.
In case anyone is interested, I am sure I know where that title came from! There was an old nursery rhyme that began "Taffy was a Welshman. Taffy was a thief! Taffy came to my house and stole a side of beef!"
@@jennielee3977 Love that! Thanks for sharing.
Joce, the first platter you picked up was a Vera Neuman platter worth about $44. You always know a Vera because there's always a ladybug somewhere. It's a good find and many collectors.
No, not necessarily. Some pieces have the ladybug.
She said it had a chip.
@@judygillespie3242 yes it was chipped! No go!
@@judygillespie3242 Yes, I heard her. I mean in the future.
A little glass flea bite tip. Take a 4 way nail buffer, it smoothes them right out.
I viewed Dagny's video first and it was so fun watching yours and seeing what items you both looked at and left on the shelf for the same reason. Great score on the queen of hearts planter!
Good idea, I will watch Dagney next..
That little candle holder you said was homemade isn't homemade Jocelyn. I still have the one that has been in our family since the 70s that we bought at a candle chain store in Northpark Mall in Joplin Missouri called Wicks "N" Sticks. It's very pretty when lit with a candle inside. We always burnt votive candles in ours back then. there was no such candle as a tea light back then. I loved that store so much! We bought a lot of candle goodness in that store!
Lisa
As soon as I saw it myself, I was instantly reminded of a long lost memory of my grandparents having those! Wowww! I had totally forgotten about it! So pretty! 😍
I live in Springfield, MO & I have such fond memories of Wicks & Sticks!! I think I even applied for a part-time job there as a college student. I loved their store!!
@@sherparham Northpark was in its prime in the 70s.
That lamp would look so cute in the nursery!!
if you ever come across something that looks old in the dinnerware/teaset type of stuff and it has what appears to be sand on the bottom rim BUY IT. it means it was fired sitting on a bed of sand and they havent done that in a long, LONG time. my nana had an entire set of pink and gray dinnerware w/ the raised design and it sold for quite a few bucks at the estate sale. do your research though. might not still be worth that much anymore.
Wow, I am so glad to see you shopping together
I love how you found a mirror that works. lol. Wow! That pretty little queen of hearts. It pays to look at everything.
Timestamp 7:34-the Princess House dish with yellow flowers. I have the red & yellow rose, & some type of purple flower, listed as a lot of 3, right now. The red is very pretty.
That lenox baby 🐘 dish is so sweet! ❤ elephants! You could save it for Laurel if it doesn't sell. Happy shopping day for sure so much fun hearing you two laughing!😎🌻💜
Any lady planters with holiday themes are valuable.
I love it when you and Dagny giggle
Both you and Dagny didn't even glance at the Mary Engelbreit covered mug (7:26)...Her ceramics are worth at least a glance, I think...but then again...I LOVE Mary Engelbreit's work!
I have to tell you I found a beautiful glassy baby in the wild called petals. Thank you for alerting us to it.
Yay! Glad you had a good day too! I found a Toledo drafting chair for $6.75 at my GW!!!
I love your nails Jocelyn and I always love when you are shopping with Dagney
Love when you and Dag go thrifting together
So glad to see Dagny is back. And I noticed not one praying hands with you two.
“The children have very large heads”🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
That made me laugh, too!! 🤣🤣
Wow! I’m surprised that lady with hearts planter is so valuable!! Who knew!!
Major score today! Wow!!! That little heart lady was an absolute blessing!
I think those plates were Dice not Dominoes.
🥰 Loved seeing you so giddy to be shopping with Dagny again! ❤️ Great find on the planter!
To keep colors from running, soak in a salt water bath. Use quite a bit of salt.
Great finds today. But so many cool things were chipped.
yes I agree. Use hot water and salt to dissolve the salt. Let it cool then place the bag in it to soak awhile. Use a bit of soap on a toothbrush and gently scrub using small circular motions. That will release the stains. Don't wring it out, just press the water out onto a thick pad of towel. Change towels until not dripping. Dry flat.
I so enjoy watching the two of you shop. Jocelyn your such a fun and knowledgeable young woman. Thanks for sharing
Good score.
Love seeing you two together.
So glad you are happier and decided own those powers and just keep doing the beautiful things that make you happy.
I would have purchased the dog portrait. It was a wire fox terrier, like my profile. Alas, PA is too far for me right now. Lol
Awesome find ❣️ Especially the Queen of Hearts planter .It was nice to see Dagny again .U two have lots of fun when are together ❣️
The dog print (3:20) that you passed on was from a very famous English artist named Lucy Dawson. She illustrated many, many dogs as well and that print said "Taffy not a thief." I would have loved that print!!!
I have learned so much watching you! I have to send a BIG THANK YOU as I have started to resell because of you and Dagney. I am having a great time with it and some surprising successes. I'll keep watching, thrifting and working on reselling. You gals are an inspiration!!
It was so nice to see you and Dagney together. I have missed that.
You did great! Fun to see the girls back together ❤️ Thank you for listing the Penguin 🐧, I will stop begging now😎
Dagney! I’ve missed you!
She has her own channel.
I missed you two shopping together! Thanks for the fun video!
Great seeing you shop with Dagny again. Awesome score on that planter. Who knew!!
Cagney is not only a great shopping buddy but she’s a good luck charm as well! 🥰
Skid mark! Omg I laughed out loud for real! 😩😂🤣
😂😂
So fun to see you two shopping together again.
Awwww so Happy see you both together!!!
The two of you together...our industry standard...loved it!!
Wash/Rinse the Amish piece in vinegar water that will set the dyes in the red threads (and other colors) and then your good to wash to get the stain out...
Omg that Relpo piece is GORGEOUS!!!! What a find ❤️💕❤️💕
Hiii Dagney and Jocelyn! :Love the green lightshade ♡
Nice haul momma! 😉
I might've squealed a bit when you picked up the Queen of Hearts planter- Reaalllyyyy Great find!!!
Such good value!! xxxxx
Wow! Love it when favorite CZcamsrs score!
I was expecting you to say the lamp was 200 plus value, but the planter!!! Shocker! I think that first blue vase looked like the base of a hookah? Try the cheap white shaving cream from Dollar Tree it will likely take that staining off the purse.
Oh I knew as soon as you found that Relpo planter you had something good! Congratulations 🎈
Love when you two shop together
I absolutely loved this video! You have a beautiful family and you all deserve the best Christmas ever! The green in your kitchen is awesome! Looking forward to seeing lots more of your adventures! ❤🎄❤
That valentines planter is everything
You have the best videos. Love when you shop with dagny. Your camera.work us wonderful.
That lamp would match with some Heywood Wakefield or Scan. I love blonde wood. The bunny is cute and I'm sure he could find a place in your garden.
Love the lamp shades .also congratulations on the $290 planter... score $$ 🤩
Yep! Those vintage valentine's day planters are worth a small fortune. Exciting find!
Yayyy Dagney is back!
This is the 2nd time I've been your 1st viewer! Excitement! Always looking fwd to your vids Jocelyn. You're the best. Luv your knowledge!
Amazing video as usual! You are the best in the west!!! 😍💕
Best thrifting duo ever love you both.
That framed art of the little dog may have been a good pickup and looked very vintage.…if it was an original. As you know, animals are so very popular…so maybe?
So enjoy you and Dagny together
Yay !! I needed something good tonight!!
I WANT that Lamp! I think the Shade goes marvelously!! LIME is ALWAYS My Jam!
Yay Dagney ! Love your videos too.
Love your videos and it's always fun when's you shop with Dagny
Grandma's Stain remover works well for removing stains, even on older pieces. AS far as the bleeding of colors - quilt shops carry a product that prevents the bleeding. I believe it's called Retayne.
Thanks for the tip!
Oh! I love that lamp, and the SHADE!!!
Lisa
I liked that shade with that lamp also. The shade top and bottom was trimmed in chartreuse so I thought it looked fine with the lamp. Looked like Mid Century for sure..
Yay! Dagny!! Great video. God bless.
Great finds at the goodwill!! That girl figurine is worth so much!! You’re very lucky!! Love daphne!! She is so sweet!! Love you both!! Much love!! 🥰🥰💙💙❤️❤️🌺🌺💖❤️🙏🙏🦋🦋💜💜💕💕💕😊😊
They're dice not dominos, dice are dark dots on white usually, dominos are rectangles not square.
Yes I was saying the same thing to my screen!
It's 5:27am here in Australia and you've given me my first laugh of the day! 😄. Saying that the mirror works! Love it! Have a lovely day/evening etc over there. Thank you for your fantastic videos.
Omggggggg I LOVE that Sad Clown photo.. Wish you woulda picked it up.. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
That is a standard poker chip set. They were big in the 50's/60's. They didn't have Bakelite chips. It also had two decks of cards that went in the slots on each side of the handle. Everyone who played cards at home had one of these.
Great buys today!! Hope you make a lot!!
I’m in love with that lamp and shade lol
Love you and dagnie together, you 2 laugh like to young school girls...I love it
On EBay, when looking up the Restoration Hardware plates under “dice plates” I was seeing sold comps for $30-40 CAD for the set of 6!
Vera was a prolific 60's designer mostly known for her designs on scarfs, towels, bedding etc.
Wow what a great find!!!
Yes my sweet friend is here!💕
I need the lamp dagnie picked up! Love it
Wow I can’t believe that planter sold for that much . Congratulations on a huge score :) love you and Dagney videos :)
I am excited about the beautiful girl figurine. I always enjoy when you go shopping with Dagny. Please Stay Safe, Happy And Healthy Have A Wonderful Day
At 4:23 Pink Lusterware! Early Staffordshire. Surprised you didn't turn over to see bottom!
Unexpected treasures are the best! You look super cute in the blue shirt by the way! :)
Cart switching how fun for you two ladies
You are great at finding good stuff
7:50 Probably part of a set and not all that old, 2nd half 20th C ish. Could be Kutani ware. If you bought it for $1 dollar and sold it for $10 you made a profit... otherwise I think your discerning skills are improving! Hope you are keeping cool it is heatwave in the UK at the moment 😊🙏🏼⛱💦
Fun day with you guys!! 😊
