I swear my older brother wanted to be Frankie Crocker...He was one of a kind We heard that voice many a night
He was a NYC Radio DJ legend.. may you rest in peace my man.
I always tuned to Frankie Crocker when he was on WBLS107.5 he was great. Rest In Peace Frankie you are so missed but never forgotten 👮🏻♂️🙏🏻🚔🚨💙
20 years later since Frankie Crocker passed away & NY radio has yet to recover! We had a glimmer of hope for a couple of years, then we lost the legendary Chuck Leonard, and the great Vaughn Harper! I don’t know what I’d without the CZcams archives! Very grateful! Thx for sharing!
The greatest!
December 18th: Happy birthday Disc Jockey Frankie "Hollywood" Crocker (1937-2001) The Chief Rocker; thank you and God bless. RIP...thank you for the tribute, Elmo "Magic" Christian. Blessings...
He will always in my heart be "The Chief Rocker"! Frankie Crocker, and Larry Lujack of WLS in Chicago, my two idols of radio. Both men are the reasons why I own a small AM Station, Serve My Community, and play good Urban Contemporary and Adult Contemporary Music. I learned from just listening to Frankie Crocker and watching him on VH-1. Frankie is with The Lord now, in a better place, and so is Larry Lujack.
The greatest.
WBLS was my go to radio station when I lived in NYC 1979-1980. I loved to listen to Frankie Crocker. There was a lady who was quite popular at WBLS during that period, unfortunately I have forgotten her name. Oh, and that Saturday morning oldies program in which I heard so much good doo-wop music I had never heard before.
In 1979 that likely would have been Lamar Renee. There's a possibility you could be referring to Billie Burdette, but for some reason she is not typically mentioned for her relatively short stint at WBLS
@@mitchsoulful Wow, very few people remember Billie Burdette. True BLS fan you are!
R.I.P. 🙏🏿🙏🏿
Best dj in the world

I listened to him when I lived in NY. He was 62. Hate when info on reporters story is wrong.
