Hey Loves! I'm back this Sunday with a Thrift with Me video and also sharing a sneak peek of my dining room makeover!
I visited my parents last weekend and wanted to share my goodies and also share a glimpse of my dining room makeover that I'm working on. Please share your ideas on what I should do with the space. I’d like to also, mention that different countries as well as various parts of the world have the same authentic items. And they may not all mimic or have identical lining, thread color that etc…as the exact same item that is carried in other places. 🤯 It’s just an FYI. I found this out over time of course throughout the years of traveling. 😅 Be blessed and take care!
On the shrunk I would leave the wood maybe stain it to a darker color. Change out the hardware on the shrunk to match the metal color on the chairs! That would be gorgeous!

I see so many dope pieces! I've gotten some very nice art from family dollar over the years. Their black art is really cute. Surprised to see so many in the thrift store. Some of those reprints are well-known. I'm sad I've never seen them.

& i LOVE the blue and white vases,they are Chinese,and those fishplates are Vintage and from the brand "Sarreguemines" It supposed to come in a 11 piece set.. Those green wine glasses are Vintage as wel,made in Germany.. Your momma got a nice collection right there!

Ps: I would paint that (Shrank?) and table Caviar black..With the vases on top of the (shrank?)..AND just a silly idea but..would that Asian screen fit in that ceiling mold above the diningtable? 😗❤
Omg!!! I so needed you in my life!!!! I didn’t even think to paint the table! It’s a really heavy Italian marble that I got either on FB Marketplace or Craigslist! The screen on the ceiling! I had no clue to even think of that!!! Just wow! And the fishplates! Had no clue! My momma has the entire set of that! And all the German pieces!!! You just made my night! Thank you so much!

Maybe put the marble one in the kitchen/backporch..Or maybe replace it with a other one? ..Or is peel and stick maybe a option in black marble? I wish i lived around the corner instead of 20.000 miles away!.. 😂😭 i Would lovvve to thrift,and flip the livingroom with you!

2/7/24... Center piece on table is red. So the folding screen ur mom has isssss' red also. But' u can always apply some African Mudcloth material or some other African pattern to it. Tack it, hot glue it, pin it.... Ur mom has some real nice solid pieces. U betta get that furniture ghourllllllll. And then do ur DIY's on them. Ur gonna wish u got those blue pieces with the flowers on them.... U might have grown up in the house with said objects and Now' are tired of looking at them. But'! There antiques and u can redo them... Take ur time and think on it. Be blessed 🙏🏾💜🌹

Yes! I stopped at the one on 431, Helping Hands and a few of the Ester House stores!
@thehausofreality I used be a Human Resource officer in the Anniston/Oxford area and lived in Gadsden-Hokes Bluff area so I would shop at all of them along my route home or early Saturday mornings. I'm in Walker county now it's one here that I go to a lot but they have quite a few I haven't been in since we lived here.
Hi! Love ur personality. Ur fun to hang out with. Hey... I just wanted to tell you,, suggest...Idk what you called that thing, that SHRUNK? Is that right? I just googled it. Ok Eye see...a German Shrunk. Are u Sure ur gonna be able to make that work in your dining room? Is that really your vibe? Painting that Huge thing is MUCH more challenging than it sounds. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that Asian Screen you're getting from your Mom. But that Collosal piece of Furniture ... I'm not sure you're gonna like, walking in & looking over that that everyday when you come home.
The Chairs you have are gonna Clash with the style of that SHRUNK, in my opinion. Now, if you put up that Asian Screen & get maybe a credenza for that wall, or something more Modern for that wall. Make Sure you're gonna LOVE it before you bring it. It's Huge & HEAVY.
Thank you so much! You are right, it’s huge and heavy and very traditional! My goal is to mix modern elements/pieces with it to “bring it to life”. No, it’s not my vibe but it’s a sentimental piece from my childhood so I’ll style it with modern pieces! As far a painting it, probably not but I’m going to sit with it in the space and definitely reupholster the chairs.

I had this big solid wood very ornately carved Sideboard that was my Dad's, a lot g time ago. It wasn't my style either, but it was my Dad's so, yeah, I wanted to make it work. I painted it, but it was before CZcams with all these Fabulous, & expert DIYers, & I didn't sand it strip or use the right paint. I painted it RED & GOLD. (I thought I would like that) 😥I never got it right. It was a BEAST trying to get it Out of my apartment.
Now, I sometimes still think about it. If I had it now, I'd know EXACTLY the type of treatment would've brought out it's Beaty! A RUSTIC, Antiquated, Shabby Chic look would've been GORGEOUS. But it would've taken TOO many years to arrive at that epiphany, and DID. LOL!
I have experimented SO MUCH over the years, so I completely understand. It's all trial & error. Have FUN If you need us, we're here 💪🏿😆🤎💥❣️
If you block the AC vent won’t that prevent you from changing the filter and block the flow of air?
Fortunately there’s one right on the other side of the wall that I could go inside to change the one that will be slightly covered. I won’t push it all the way flush just to ensure some air flow
