I hope for starter units that people can afford with their NHT loan. People will improve the unit after they get in. The building industry will boom when homeowners employ work men to enhance their properties.
Some of you Jamaican people are beyond ungrateful smh! I understand Jamaica is rough but it’s hard everywhere… yet most expect ppl to do everything for them without putting forth any savings no matter how small while complaining that everything is too expensive. This man is doing a really good thing making homes possible for hard working people who otherwise couldn’t afford it and all they can do is complain about how small the house is smh instead of starting off small and adding rooms to it you want to complain that it isn’t a ready made mansion when they can’t even afford the kinda house they want! I hope these houses go to the people who truly deserve them and none is sold to the so called speculators. Unbelievable to think people will show up here and talk about rental or air BNB. NHT needs a lot more affordable homes for working class Jamaicans.

Everything the government in jamaica try to do people criticize it who don't want the units leave it and shut up u mouth who want it take it better u pay mortgage for u house and know it is yours more than paying a lot for rent and it is not yours, some day u can be able to add on more rooms to the units, if u do is problem and if u don't do is more problem.
The NHT should aim to build at least 500, 000 of this type of units. They are sitting on Billions of contributors dollars who can't afford to qualify for larger unit's.
The JLP and the PNP have raided the NHT funds by Billions. The NHT was set up to help poor people acquire housing. We need about 20 more Portmore. The Bernard Lodge Land should have been used for housing.

I am not a tiler but I have done a tiling course and I prefer wall sitting on floor tile. Units are great not often you see good construction like that... Only negative is the ply door on the bathroom but I know that's the standard they do. We'll done

If you buy extra point ahead of time gives you a better chance of being selected, I've known people keep applying for units for years and could not get selected, until they purchase points The employees at Housing Trust will discourage you from buying points, don't listen to them,because that's what they tell their friends to do to get selected. This came from a source who knew someone who was employed by the NHT.good luck.

Limited options to owning a home in Jamaica!! The demand for housing in Jamaica is high and the supplies low. Majority of us are desperate which interns makes us vulnerable and easily exploited.

Building concept the fact is you lay a foundation then you build on top. That concept should transcend throughout the whole structure. Tile the floor then tile on top that’s will prevent water seepage the shower curb as well needs to be capped
Yep 👍🏽 That’s what I think too although I am not a tiler. As you correctly point out, it prevent water from seeping through the creases easily.

Not bad at lease the foundation is not in the dirt that cause Floding when it Rains i have seen some Houses in the Video with the foundation so low i know if Rain & flooded they would of to get, the fuck up out there fast as they can!!!
