As a transgender myself , it is important to know your limit and respect boundaries. Woman is a woman, man is a man, transwoman is a transwoman, cat is a cat. There should be a clear line between a woman and transwoman. Transgenders should stay in trans pageants or sports . The world needs order and should be based on science and facts. No amount of surgeries and hormones will make us equall to biological women. Lets just be happy and settle being a different kind. Not a man , not a woman but a trans and that we need to respect straight peoples spaces .

Like I said in another comment: this is your belief. For you, being seen as different might be very comfortable. For others, it is not. And no one said trans woman are the same as cisgender women. The trajectory and path in life is very different. But, in this competition, the rules state they are equal. So no need to bring in whatever science you refer to. It's not relevant in this situation. It's just a decision of an organization. Don't like it? Don't watch it.
And to respect straight people spaces: Respectful LGBTQIA+ around the world are killed and discriminated against on a daily basis. We have a right to exist in any way or shape we choose, even if it makes other people uncomfortable. The order of the world has been forever changing, and what we know today will change to. I wish you the openness of mind to not limit others because you yourself choose that certain limitations should be applicable to you.

finally a sane person that accepts being trans is NOT the same as being a woman...if trans folks had this logic, I dont think there would be so much pushback...its the ones wanting to change biology that causes a huge stir and imo, so much anti tran support

There's enough division and hatred in the world. Why aim your negativity at people who have done you no harm just because you would not live your life the way they choose to? There are bigger fish to fry, and denying others the decency to live their life as they choose to is just sad.

@@princexyz1663 No, it isn't. It's not the same as saying skinny women, tall women, white women, etc. The prerequisite for being a trans woman is being a biological male. That is a whole other sex category. The only thing that would set them apart from other men is the declaration - the statement that they actually identify as women. And "identifying as a woman" is a very debatable concept. It relies on a spiritual belief that there is such a thing as a female soul in a male body. Women are not female souls in female bodies. They are just female. We are our bodies. Everything else is an ideology you can be believe in, or not believe in, and most of us don't.
Regardless of opinion, people can be classy and respectful in the comments. Shows your character when you comment on this video with hate. Be respectful people

TBH, her answer to "what is the essence of being a woman?" can be applicable for general gender/sex ,not really to specific gender that been stated "being a woman"

That's why it's called Miss Universe.. woman of any background. If we can invite women from other planets that would be amazing because we are not the only species of the universe right? 😅
It might hurt religion like Christians and Muslims but we have to accept that there're so many religions in the world and we should respect it so that we can have peace.
We should not also force what we believe in to others so that we could also have peace in our hearts and 😢minds. We have to accept that we are individual people. We have different beliefs.
There is no rule that states this pageant is for "original biological women". If that bothers you, turn to the organization, but bullying or belittling the contestant might show your true intention here. Also, if you think changing your physical appearance means you are not authentic, then what do we do with the "original biological women" competing who have dyed their hair, had breast augmentation, have Botox and fillers, wear hair pieces and wear makeup? That's changing one's appearance too. It would leave no "authentic" competitors ;). Change is uncomfortable if it forces you to change your way of thinking. I wish you a broader perspective with more room for diversity. Enjoy the pageant!

@@nikita5662the organization has decided that trans women, like all other women, are eligible and welcome to compete. It's great that you feel like there should be a line, where there in reality is not one. If you want to limit your reality based on your personal beliefs, that's ok. It's not ok to limit others because of your beliefs or opinions. The organization created this room and inclusivity, don't scold the contestants for using that room, and playing by the rules.

I'm glad we're finally evolving to the point we're all equals with equal opportunity without gender boundaries. We need to make every competition open to any gender and nongender. Every sport and every competition will be open to anyone. We'll finally get rid of men's and women's sports and everyone will be happy.

I am Portuguese and Salvadorena. I have gorgeous, classy, educated female cousins in Portugal that would better represent Portuguese WOMEN. This person is not a woman. Although this person may be a good person, kind person, etc. etc. etc., the requirement is to be a woman. Transpeople are welcome to make their own trans competitions. No one would have an issue with that. Respect women and stay out of our spaces and competitions. I don't even like Miss Universe and beauty pageants but rules and science are just that. Respect them. El Salvador is doing such wonderful things right now and I am so happy and proud but this is NOT one of them. Women will not be hoodwinked or erased.
