You can hardly come across any videos without one. Anyhow, the baby is so chubby and cute. With the looks of his dad and the complexion of his mum.
Just because you liked it doesn't mean that others should share the same wavelength as yours - it's a free world - the problem with communist China is that every person needs to have the same mentality - back the 60s communist in China would hunted any person who didn't had the same idealogy like a pack of animal, either killed or send to hard labor, i guess nothing changes much - Chinese love white people who are into their culture because it's makes them feel superior

He wrote it in school when he was a kid, and then he started again less than a year ago. But he writes calligraphy every day since he picked it up again!

What YongHong said was so true and the kind of mindset is so hard-to-have these days because everyone just wants so much in their life. Many people forgot the very fact that happiness most oftenly comes from simple and small things. It must be so peaceful and meditative to write Chinese characters in that home. If only I knew how to write Chinese characters. I think a rolled-up sheet of Chinese writing is one of the most beautiful things.

So I'm Chinese by ethnicity, but born in Brussels, lived in North/Central/South America/Taiwan, now a retired aerospace engineer who makes his home in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. There is a certain peacefulness to Miriam's videos, which I realize have been edited, with music, etc. to convey the message/feeling that she wants to share.
Still, I think that is something to aspire to; to accept life as it presents itself to you, yet making changes/improvements as you can and hopefully leaving this a better place for all who come after you.
OTOH, blame whom we wish, but what with climate change, air pollution, water pollution, thermal pollution, disappearing aquifers, overpopulation, that time isn't on our side. If anything, we're living on borrowed time, if truth be told.
But you already know that.
I climbed the wall from Mutianyu!!! Thank you for sharing. I will never forget the awesomeness of the village life and spectacular views from there.
I stayed in the same vila complex last year when I visited Mutianyu! I remember the blue sofa and glass windows.

What a beautiful house! It is such a treat to see your vlogs, you show a part of China not normally seen, just everyday life without a gimmick. Your boy is adorable, and I can see what a wonderful connection you and your husband have. My husband is Asian, too, but we live in the states. We visited his family a few years ago and had such a good time. He'll be going back this spring to visit his grandmother who is turning 100!

Really, Miriam. Your videos changed my mind about China. Being ethnically Chinese whose ancestors left China a long time ago, my fascination with Chinese culture is laced with horror stories from my ancestors. But seeing China through your lens, I see that China has another layer behind it. Just how I imagined it to be. So always a pleasure watching your video. BTW, your husband is a handsome guy, so much like my relative that is weird.
