മുൻപൊരിക്കൽ ഒരു ഹോസ്പിറ്റലിൽ ആക്സിഡന്റ് പറ്റിയ ഒരു ചെറുപ്പക്കാരനെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു... കാലിനായിരുന്നു മുറിവ് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നത്... ആ മുറിവ് കെട്ടിവെക്കാൻ വേണ്ടി വളരെ വൈകി. ആശുപത്രിയിൽ ബന്ധുക്കൾ ബഹളം വെച്ച് തുടങ്ങി. പിന്നീടാണ് ഡോക്ടർമാർ പറഞ്ഞത് ആക്സിഡന്റിന്റെ ആഖാതത്താൽ അവന്റെ കൂടൽ മൊത്തം കലങ്ങിമറിഞ്ഞ് ഇരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു, അത് റെഡിയാക്കാൻ വേണ്ടിയുള്ള ആലോചനയിലായിരുന്നു ഡോക്ടർമാർ....

Totally agree with Mr TG Mohandas, I have a medical degree, 2 masters and 2 fellowships, in a medical career spanning 20 years, I am appalled by what is happening in our hospitals and have been very vocal about it, every doctor agrees that medical education and medical care has deteriorated over time and primarily we as a society asked for it….
As TG rightly pointed out media outlets when during a news drought would head straight to the nearby hospital to ‘entertain’ the masses
In this senseless TRP race there are medical professionals who are left devastated, I know this because I had once faced it, I survived and I didn’t change, but an unlucky human being would change, he or she would just stop caring….

Migrate to a foreign country and live a peaceful life. No body gives a thing about health of medical staff. Make sure you are doing everything legally in Kerala. Don't do anything out of commitment to patient which may put you in trouble, because if something goes wrong people will never see your good intention and will make sure you pay with the rest of your life...

The Dr failed to take consent of the parents before the tongue tie operation. Legally vulnerable but morally right. In laparotomy type operation, a general consent is often sought.
മാഷെ താങ്കളുടെ ഈ അഭിപ്രായത്തോടു യോജിക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്നില്ല.മാതാപിതാക്കൾ അറിയാതെ ഒരു നാലു വയസുകാരിക്കു ഓപ്പറേഷൻ ,അതു ചെറുതായാലും നടത്താൻ പാടില്ലായിരുന്നു. ഒരു nurse നെ വിട്ട്‌ വിവര അവരെ അറിയിക്കാമയിരുന്നു.വിവാഹം കഴിഞ്ഞു ഒരാഴ്ചയ്ക്കകം ഭാര്യയെ തല്ലുകയും കഴുത്തിൽ വയറിട്ടു മുറുക്കുകയും തല ഭിത്തിയിൽ ഇടിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതും ,അങ്ങനെ നടന്നിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ ,ന്യായികരിക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്നില്ല.

ഡോക്ടറുടെ ഭാഗത്തു കുഴപ്പമില്ലാന്നാണ് മനസിലാക്കുന്നത്.ആ ദിവസം തന്നെ നക്കിന്റെ കെട്ടു ശരിയാക്കുന്ന ഒരു ചെറിയ ഓപ്പറേഷൻ കൂടി നടക്കുന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.ഈ കുട്ടിക്ക് നാക്കിനു കെട്ടുണ്ടായിരുന്നത് കൊണ്ട് അതും കൂടി ചെയ്തു എന്നേ ഉള്ളു. ഇതൊരു വിഷയമാക്കേണ്ട കാര്യമില്ലായിരുന്നു എന്നാണ് തോന്നുന്നത്.
സ്വന്തം കുഞ്ഞിന് വിരലിന് പകരം നാവിന് സർജറി ചെയ്യുമ്പോഴെ അതിൻ്റെ വിഷമം അറിയൂ........... ആരാൻ്റെ അമ്മക്ക് ഭ്രാന്ത് പിടിച്ചാൽ രസിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് ഇങ്ങിനെ തോന്നുന്നത് സ്വാഭാവികം

Before any procedure they should take consent from parents.
It is better to be very strict and do the procedure. Else hundreds of arguments will surface and the medical team will be in deep trouble.
What TG says abt the doctor cannot be agreed to. Doesn't the doctor have nurses assisting him with all formalities before the surgery or any procedure. Even what to operate and what is the issue with specific condition. How did he manage it all by himself assuming everything?
What he did is a simple procedure that can be done without much assistance, even a dentist can do it. Major mistake he did was he didn't take consent ..

ഇതൊരു എമർജൻസി Procedure ആയിരുന്നില്ല ഒരു electtive സർജറി ആയിരുന്നു സർജറിക്ക് മുൻപ് അവശയമായ എല്ലാ ടെസ്റ്റുകളും പരിശോധനകളും നടത്തേണ്ടത്തേണ്ടത് അത്യാവശ്യവും അത് ഓപ്പറേഷന്റെ ഒരു ഭാഗമായി കണക്കാക്കേണ്ടതും ആണ്. നാക്കിനു കെട്ടുണ്ടായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ അത് നേരത്തെ കണ്ടു പിടിക്കേണ്ടതും അതിന് കൂടി ഉള്ള syrgery നേരത്തെ പ്ലാൻ ചെയ്യേണ്ടതുമായിരുന്നു. അപ്പോൾ അതിന് വേണ്ടി മാതാ പിതാക്കളോട് അനുവാദവും എഴുതി മേടിക്കും. ടേബിളിലിൽ വച്ച് കണ്ടുപിടിച്ചു എന്നൊക്ക പറയുന്നത് തീരെ ആവിശ്വാസനീയമാണ്.
ഇന്ത്യൻ ഹെൽത്ത്‌ കെയർ സിസ്റ്റം ഹൈലി doctor centered ആണ് ആശുപത്രികളിലെ ഏക അധികാരികളും ഏക ഉത്തരവാദികളും ഡോക്ടർമാർമാത്രമാണ്. മറ്റുള്ള എല്ലാവരും അവർ പറയുന്നത് അനുസരിക്കുന്നവർ മാത്രമാണ്. അതുകൊണ്ട് തന്നെ തെറ്റ് കണ്ടുപിടിക്കാനോ, തിരുത്താനോ, അത് ആവർത്തിക്കാതിരിക്കാൻ നടപടി എടുക്കാനോ പറ്റില്ല.ഡോക്ടർമാരാണെങ്കിൽ അവരെ ഏൽപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഭാരിച്ച ഉത്തരവാദിത്തം മനസ്സിലാക്കാതെ സംഘടിത്തരായി പൊതുജനങ്ങളെ വിഡ്ഢികകക്കുകയാണ്. ഇതിനുള്ള പോംവഴി ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ വ്യവസ്ഥയിൽ ഡോക്ടർമാർക്ക് സ്വയം മാത്രമേ ചെയ്യാൻ കഴിയു.
എന്താണ് സംഭവിച്ചതെന്ന് unbiased ആയുള്ള ഒരു വിവരണം പോലും ലഭിക്കാൻ സാധ്യത വളരെ കുറവാണ്. മറ്റു രാജ്യങ്ങളിലെ സിസ്റ്റം പഠിച്ച് അതിൽ എങ്ങനെയാണ് മെഡിക്കൽ നെഗ്ലിജിൻസ് തടയുന്നത് എന്നു മനസ്സിലാക്കി അത് തടയാനുള്ള മാർഗങ്ങൾ ഇവിടെയും കൊണ്ടുവരണം.വികസിത രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ ഹെൽത്ത്‌ കെയർ ഡോക്ടർ സെന്റർഡ് അല്ല. എല്ലാ പ്രഫഷനലുകളും ഏറെക്കുറെ അവരുടെ ജോലികളിൽ സ്വാതന്ത്രരാണ്.അവരുടെ കോളേബൊറേറ്റീവ് എഫ്ഫർട് ആണ് patient care സന്ധ്യമാക്കുന്നത്.എല്ലാത്തിനും പോളിസികളും പ്രോസടുറുകളും വ്യക്തമായി തയ്യാറാക്കി വച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടാകും . ഇവിടെ അത്തരം നിയമങ്ങൾ നിർമിക്കണം
TG ഒട്ടും തന്നെ അറിയാത്ത ഒരു കാര്യത്തെ ആണ് ന്യായികരിക്കുന്നത്. രോഗിയെ കണ്ടാൽ തന്നെ രോഗം മനസ്സിലാക്കുന്ന ഡോക്ടർ എന്തുകൊണ്ട് കുട്ടിക്ക് നാക്കിൽ കെട്ടുണ്ട് എന്ന് നേരത്തെ മനസിലാക്കിയില്ല, അതിനുള്ള സർജറി പ്ലാൻ ചെയ്തില്ല
ഡോക്ടർമാരോട്: സമൂഹം നിങ്ങളെ ഏല്പിച്ച ഭാരിച്ച ഉത്തരവാദിത്തം മനസിലാക്കുക, നിങ്ങൾ ഡോക്ടർ ആകാം പക്ഷേ നിങ്ങളുടെ മകനോ മകളോ ഡോക്ടർ ആകണമെന്നില്ല അവർ ഭാവിയിൻ മെഡിക്കൽ നെഗലിജിൻസിന് ഇരകളാവാം അന്ന് അവരെ രക്ഷിക്കാൻ നിങ്ങളുണ്ടാകണമെന്നില്ല. ഡോക്ടർമാരുടെ സംഘടനകൾ അവരെ സംഘടിതമായി എതിർത്തു തോല്പിക്കും. നീതി നിഷേധിക്കപ്പെടും.
TG പറഞ്ഞ പോലെ അകാൻ സാധ്യത ഇല്ല. ആളുമാറി ഓപ്പറേഷൻ നടത്തിയത് തന്നെയാണ്. നാക്കിലെ ഓപ്പറേഷൻ എന്ത് കൊണ്ട് പേരെന്സിന്റെ പെർമിഷൻ വാങ്ങിയില്ല. ഏത് സർജറിക്കും മുമ്പ് ഫോംസ് ഒപ്പിട്ടു വാങ്ങണം എന്നാണ് നിയമം. ഒരു ഡോക്ടറും അങ്ങനെ പെട്ടെന്ന് ഒരു ഓപ്പറേഷൻ ചെയ്യില്ല.
വിരലിന്റെ സർജറിക്ക് ഫോം വാങ്ങിയല്ലോ,അതിൽ ഉണ്ടല്ലോ, Doctor has the right to take any appropriate decision without prior intimation during the surgery എന്ന്

രക്ഷകർത്താക്കളെ അറിയിക്കാതെ consent ഇല്ലാതെ emergency അല്ലാത്ത ശസ്ത്രക്രിയ ചെയ്യരുത് എന്നാണ് നിയമം. ഇന്ത്യയിൽ പക്ഷെ ഡോക്ടർ മാർ പലർക്കും ഇപ്പോഴും ആതുര സേവനം ദൈവീകമാണ്. സർക്കാർ ഇത് ബിസിനസ്സ് ആണ് എന്ന് consumer പ്രൊട്ടക്ഷൻ കീഴിൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നപ്പോഴേ തീർന്നു സേവനം
നാക്കിന് ഉള്ള പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ മാതാപിതാക്കളോട് അനുവാദം വാങ്ങിച്ചാൽ പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാവില്ലായിരുന്നു.😢
അഥവാ മനുഷ്യ സ്നേഹം കാണിക്കരുതായിരുന്നു.

Consent ഇല്ലാതെ noone can do a procedure. Absolute mistake. But as you said the medical field is getting complicated with these rules finally common people only will suffer.

Tongue tie pole ചെറിയ ഒരു ഓപ്പറേഷൻ , 5 seconds mathi എന്നുണ്ടെങ്കിലും ente opinion doctor തെറ്റാണ് എന്ന് തന്നെയാണ്. ജീവന് ഭീക്ഷണി അല്ലാത്തതിനാൽ അതു പിന്നീട് ചെയ്യാമായിരുന്നു. 4 വയസ്സുള്ള കുട്ടി ആണ്, ഇനിയും ഒരു operation ആയി വേണ്ട എല്ലാ ടെസ്റ്റും, anesthesia check up വീണ്ടും വേണം, എന്നൊക്കെ ചിന്തിക്കേണ്ട ഒരു ആവശ്യവും ഇല്ല. അതു ഡോക്ടറെ ബാധിക്കില്ല. പിന്നെ എന്താണ് പ്രശ്നം. Legally he is wrong. മേലാൽ ഇത് ആവർത്തിക്കാൻ പാടില്ല....

It is not so simple. The tongue was not operated upon with the knowledge of parents. Also the sixth finger was not removed till insisted upon.
But this shouldnot be done without consent of the patient or family. Its all defined in IPC. Unless its a life saving procedure it shouldnot be done. You(doc) should ask for consent.

You mean that the life of anyone in this case was not endangered and so there is no need of punishment for the doctor ?. What the doctor did was wrong on two counts -first there was no consent. Second the doctor didn’t ensure whether the child inform was indeed the child admitted for tongue tie
Regarding the second point-I think the doctor mistook the child for someone else( maybe with another child who actually was scheduled for a tongue tie operation on that day!!
If it was the later the doctor should be pardoned ( that’s my opinion).
If however if he violated consent , that should be punished
