I think Bella does care about Chelsea but maybe she had a bad experience with her pervious female human owner. Or maybe female cats see human females as competition. We've seen Bella be loving to Chelsea before. She doesn't fully trust her for some reason
I love the title "trying to get our cat to like us" when it's mostly "trying to get Bella to like Chelsea"

Looks like she could use a claw trim, just to get rid of the sharp tips. Try affection when she’s relaxed and taking a nap or just waking up from a nap cats can be a little more receptive when they’re relaxed. Build trust through positive things. If something seems to work, continue doing that - like giving her treats. It associates Chels with something good and positive for Bella. Part of it could be because Cooper is attached to Chels and Bella prefers to stay out of his crazy energy. Bella is also very bonded to Trev so building trust is going to be more challenging. Definitely seen progress though.
These cat videos give me life and so happy to see others go through the struggle, the salty cat struggle. Bella cracks me up with her attitude. My cat acts the same way. Give bella some of those plastic tags off of bags of bread, she'll love those. My cat loves her milk gallon caps. HAIR TIES, give her a bunch of hair ties! FYI? My dog used to be too obsessed with the Lazer and almost had to get her counseling, she would go sniff the Lazer and open the drawer to get it out! It was bad and she was so depressed after playing "spot" ended after an hour of playing with her ,she just never wanted it to end. My arm almost fell off after an hour of that game. 😂
I'm just waiting for the day when Bella has a sudden change of heart for Chels and smothers her w/love like she does w/Trev. It might honestly come when Chels saves her from something for Bella to realize she's her friend and not her enemy (aka an attention stealer respectfully) 😂
Or it might happen as Bella gets older.
@@DoubleM-hf6ih Yeah that's usually the case as pets get older, they wind down and aren't as picky. Though it really depends, it's more common

I feel so bad for Chels. Everyone knows how bad she wanted a kitty. Now she has one Bella just puts up with her. Maybe you all will get a 4th furry friend in the future.
Yeah, I still remember a video when they had 3-4 little kitties and Chelsea was so in love with one of them and was really insisting on keeping him. I hope she could get one like this, but I understand that they have quite busy live and already 3 pets. Well, cats are not that demanding as dogs though.

I really never thought of getting a cat as a pet. But Bella is so cute and has now caused me to fall in love with these furballs!!! Chels just go with the flow no matter what yours and Bella's is also a relationship albeit a sweet and sour one😂 I would suggest that when you pat her just don't hesitate and wait until she smacks you go full speed ahead so she doesn't get the time to react. Maybe your nails are the cause of concern. Long nails can be frightening especially to such a small animal. And would love to see the cooper version of the 97 ways😂I am sure each one of them will be a hit
The ring on the milk cap instead of the cap itself is the toy for them at least for my furbaby, and if you tie the straw in one knot, they may play with it better. Good luck Chels! 🐾💜

Bella seems to be food motivated, and didn't she like that game where she chases that thing on the line that Chelsea controls with the remote? She knew Chelsea was the one controlling it and she was looking at her to start it! Maybe every day try to do things that aren't necessarily physical You know she very much enjoys. Then when she's ready she may come to you for affection. 😁❤️

I wonder what Bella is thinking. On another note when I first started watching SCS, I thought the love sack was off limits to the fur babies. 😂. I guess mom and dad gave up. Coop loves it. 😊❤
I love the cattitude that Bella has when it comes to Chels then you can't do the same thing 10 seconds later and she is fine. Shows how much personality animals have.

Read her body language. Once the tail is twitching it is time to walk away. You push past her limits, and that is part why she doesn't trust you. Chelsea should be the one feeding Bella everyday.

Jackson Galaxy would be laughing so hard at these guys...everything they do is just pissing Bella off more and more. They are 100 percent doing these things either at the wrong time, or in the wrong way. I saw somebody else talk about how they should only be doing these things when Bella is in a relaxed mood, yet they keep just doing them when she is already in the wrong state of mind. They do need Jackson...but he would spend all his time telling them what they are doing wrong. ✌💯🖖😂

The best toys we ever got our cats were straws! Linked about 3 of them together (slid inside), and then putting it under anything like news/paper, bedding, doors etc. They'd go wild.

I would honestly love to hear an expert's opinion on this, if you could find someone to analyze this situation. I think that would make for an incredible video, and educational too. It's so interesting to me how differently she treats you both, and I keep trying to figure out the reason and I just.... can't. I'm wondering if maybe it's because Bella doesn't like Cooper as much either, and Chels reminds her of him? Maybe sees them as a "package deal" and she can smell too much of Cooper on Chels?
The way she hates it when Chels tries certain things but accepts the exact same things from Trev... That means she has a general problem with Chels, no matter what she tries.
Anyway, cats change a lot as they grow older and I think there's a chance Bella will warm up to Chels, I hope she does! Good luck!!
It’s mostly because Trev was home with her all the time when she was a kitten, and Chels still worked out of the house at that point, so Bella bonded with him. Cats are weird 🤷🏻♀️

Chels give it time. My previous cat (who I had for 21 years) didn't like me at first either. He completely ignored me and my Mom. Only wanted pets from my Dad. As he got older he started coming to me and my Mom for pets. But the weird part of him was any time he got a mouse he would bring it only to my bed. And lay it down on the floor and go oh look at what I caught aren't you proud LOL.

I have two cats. One being a solid black cat named Binx. He’s the trouble maker of the family. But both of them LOVE playing with straws. If I only have one, I have to cut it in half at times for them both to play with it.

Cats very much decide who their person is. I rescued a black cat "Princess" who was ferel. It took me a year to touch her but when she was inside, she was only mine and was my best friend. I miss her everyday.

The cat my family had when I was little thought straws were mediocre. Her true love was the twisty ties from the grocery store produce bags. She would steal them when my parents put away the groceries and hoard them in her cat tree.

I wonder if this video would have worked better if you chose the order of the ideas according to Bella's mood and just sat down quietly next to her for several minutes at the start without interacting with her until she had relaxed. That way she's not on alert for what you're doing and why the camera and everyone is focused on her. So at the beginning, when she was watching the lizard, you could have sat next to her on the floor and waited until a few minutes after the lizard left and then slowly given her the toys and tried playing with her, then the the thing with the chicken, then read to her in a soft voice when she gets tired from playing (honestly the funny voices advice didn't make any sense to me) and then try rubbing her ears, gently and slowly, but keeping your hands relaxed and low and letting her sniff your hand before petting her. She might like when Trev does things that she wouldn't let other people do, so Chels might have to do things differently at first.

Cat Pro Tip: Make eye contact with squinty eyes. Squinty eyes means love; big wide open eyes means hate and aggression. Squinty eyes to share your love.

Hi Chelsea, when I met my partner James he already had a kitty called Morgan and she did not like me at all! It took about 9 months of me bribing her with chicken nuggets every weekend and making sure that whenever I stayed over at James' I was the one who fed her so she could begin to associate me with good things. Also try not to hesitate when you go to pet her - I know its hard as you're worried about getting scratched but it shows her that you are afraid. It is not 7 years down the road for my partner and I and there are still things that Morgan will only allow him to do with her but equally she comes to me for a lot of things now as well. Bribing her with food definitely made all the difference for me!
