Jesse, OK? I was thinking the exact same thing. You know, I grew up in the church and some of the stuff they do kills me. all the pomp and circumstance is unnecessary. COGIC does the exact same thing their regalia. It's just way too much.
You guys kill me with these comments. Why don't you complain about choir robes too? What's the difference? Does men wearing suits and women wearing dresses bother you too? It's called proper attire for an important occasion.
These are Anglican vestments
My friend these are garments from the old and new testaments. Jesus wore a Cassocks. Elijah wore a chimere or mantle of the prophet. The gold chain was placed around the neck of Joseph the first Overseer in the Bible and a gold signet ring placed upon his finger. You can read the Bible and it will tell you all this. And by the way, God said in the Old Testament, that the garments of the "high Priesthood" are for "God's glory and beauty." So watch this!! The Catholics, got it all from Africans, Paul, Peter, John etc, and the continent of mother Africa where the gospel and Christianity was birthed! Office of the Bishop was created by God through the Apostles. Paul wrote in 60 A.D. that he was with the "Bishops and Deacons, at Philippi." (Philippians 1:1) This was in the 1st Century 300-400 years before the "Catholic church" was birthed. "Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free..."
Please believers, read the Bible for yourself, the whole thing so we can stop giving the other denominations and even kingdom our treasures. Good job sweet Holy Spirit church.
Our God is Awesome, he loves beauty, and he wants his people covered up, specially the priests on the pulpits, he doesn’t want to see their nakedness, everyone that’s going to be up there needs priestly garments, so the Saints don’t get distracted by their nakedness. Shalom
