Hello, great video, but can you show testing the voltage going to the gas valve, as on some boilers I find it almost impossible to get the probes of my multi meter to make a good contact. Thanks, Adam

Hi Adam, thanks for that and you are correct too many boiler parts are fitted badly making testing very difficult or even worse difficult to replace, but no one listens to me. What I did was to order new meter leads with very thin probes (BG engineers have them) shop around, shorten the metal probes to 10mm just enough to fit on the PCB connection which is where I did all the testing not on the component, much easier and faster. Hope that helps, may do a video on this.🤩👍

@@mrcombiBedford Thank you - yes it does help and I’ll follow your advice. Btw I came and did your fault finding and wiring courses quite a few years ago when I first started - both very good - I might come and do the fault finding one again sometime as I think I’d get more out of it now I know a bit more. All the best, Adam

different colors coils indicates their different voltage DC.

Thanks for you comment, true but with so many GV's we know Blue is 24vDC Black is 240vAC. take care, George

We were always taught to test both Solenoid Coils separately George. Where can you buy your wee Test Board mate?
    Thanks for sharing luv👍👍

Dear Fibre, this is true but Tech. Dept. will always quote (and we test) pins 1 to 5 to see if open circuit then no need to test each one. take care George Staszak 🤩👍
