Law enforcement refuses to do there job.. now nobody gets there pension
You can never get rid of a national currency.. only 15 years ago Canada’s dollar was par with the United States. A change in leadership would see a stronger Canadian dollar. Not to mention the natural resources Canada holds being the second largest country in the world. I wouldn’t be so quick to doubt cad especially in this climate we are in now.
I wish I could agree with you. But at least I am putting my money where my mouth is lol. Anyway, it is safer to invest in USD In my opinion
Canada has a government and political that is hostile to natural resources extraction , marry that to the new increase in capital gains tax.. doesn't bode well for business and investment in Canada. I'm getting out too

Important to note to young Canadians too. You guys need to explore your options internationally while there are not many restrictions against us. Passports weight is determined by GDP PC, terrorism and criminal activity, sanctions and other things. As our GDP PC comes down and Canada is deemed a hotspot for criminal activity and corruption I wouldn't be surprised if more countries start enforcing real visa requirements. Dubai is far - not knocking it have never been there but looks amazing and conductive for business and would love to learn more but for example Mexico, Dominican Repubic where I immigrated too has a huge huge influx of capital being injected that is making the country grow rapidly. As a young Canadian I don't want CAD just like this guy I want USD; we import in USD as the demand for the currency goes down we'll be paying a lot more to purchase American made goods i.e everything it will effectively become the equivalent to living in Latin America with pesos in terms of your buying power i.e full month of wages for electronics that's we're use to buying with one week of wages. Canadians lack the scope of this where immigrants and second gens can see the warning signs from the insights of their family as these signs look all too familiar. Unfortunatley its evident the only way to turn Canada around is a radical government shift that is pro-business, pro-family and pro-Canadian.

The dollar’s value is only a piece of the puzzle. Somewhere like China has a Yuan that’s worth much less than one CAD, but their high productivity means life is very affordable there , much lower cost of living. IMO if you look at what someone can buy in a country making the average salary, aka their standard of living, then you really see why Canada is falling behind. Basically I’m saying even if the dollar exchange stays the same it can still make sense to leave.

@@kevinmckenziee Diversify into a balanced investment portfolio. Precious metals, crypto (with fixed supply), stocks. Point being, you hold cash in fiat system, you will lose your saving to inflation. If you read Broken Money by Lyn Alden it would explain it well. Also I spent over 20 years trading FX markets, so not knocking currencies, just know how they operate and eventually fail.
Also Ray Dalio has a bunch of good books. Big Debt Crises being one.

The Canadian dollar became worthless when silver was withdrawn from general circulation and when the gold reserves were sold off and when the government built up a huge debt and has no intention of paying it down by curtailing their spending. At some point Canada will die of its sins of all types.

You bring up some valid points however the population continues to soar in Canada and with vast natural resources for a more eco-friendly environment I don't see the CAD losing much steam going forward. Where there may be pullback in some areas there are many opportunities for more future "Green" jobs.
Good point but I do think the increase in population is not the right type of increase. Low level workers are coming in. Many of them are just using the services without putting anything in.

Canada is a beautiful country with tons of resources, opportunity restaurants etc. Nothing beats my memories though, I live in Canada and grew up here with immigrant parents and I have two older brothers I am the youngest girl. Dubai and UAE I am sure are great and have many perks but Dubai is a desert and Canada has diverse landscapes. The two countries are not comparable. Canada is close to USA and many other places.

@@kevinmckenzieereally? The smell of the spring air and summer air is one of the best smells in my opinion. Plus swimming in a river in the summer is exhilarating. But again there are geographical perks to any place. Canada had the advantage of being close to the Caribbean and also Florida and the entire USA. There are also cool cities to explore in Canada.

@@kevinmckenziee honestly its not really fair to say one place is superior to another. Every place has benefits. I like the quote “it’s not where you go, it’s who you meet along the way”. To me nothing will compare to the love of my family and the memories. this is where i happen to have my memories but my parents met in europe so that is important to me too. we all have unique stories.

That’s a lot more difficult since it’s a physical business. It’s not really possible unless you sell it to someone then manage it or consult it from abroad
