Thank you for watching my videos! This channel is dedicated to animal education and improving the lives of captive animals.
Here’s little about me!
My name is Meghan Arriola and I live in Texas with my husband Jaime, where I dedicate my time to taking care of exotic and domesticated animals on my farm. We run a rescue and sanctuary for animals like alpacas, birds and reptiles. I do animal education presentations for groups and schools. Our alpacas also do events where we are able to teach people about these unique animals. I have used service dogs for medical needs for over 10 years and I am an advocate for assistance animals and mental health awareness.
I am an animal educator that brings science related ideas to an audience from around the world by presenting fun and interesting topics in a family friendly way. Animals touch our lives in unique ways everyday as simply being our pets and companions, but how can we make their lives equally as special now that they live in captivity? My CZcams channel and blog explore ways to meet this goal by tackling things like animal behavior, human-animal relationships and veterinary medicine. Animal science is a great way to teach people of all ages that education is fun and nerdy is cool.
My previous animal related work experience includes working in veterinary clinics, private zoos, training horses and volunteer work in wildlife rehabilitation, rescue/foster/adoption programs and therapeutic horsemanship for children with disabilities.
When I am not working with animals, I am working at the health care clinic owned by my husband Jaime and I, where we provide services to low income, minority neighborhoods. We have been on the frontlines fighting covid19. I also have a passion for art and I am an award winning painter and photographer and published author. I am naturally very introverted but I am extroverted about sharing my passions and doing my part to make the world a better place!

WHO LOVES HAPPY TAILS

Great info. Thanks for sharing and lots of blessings
I think this is the video you were recommending. This helped a lot in our building and placement decisions. Thank you.
No, this video is not about winter.

Very useful tips. I think what I'll try to do is get a fairly large shed and then convert it with the needed features.
I want to buy this coop you have. But not many good reviews on putting together. But other then that it's a good coop. If I don't get this I'll buy a shed and put what they need in it. Love the video.
We're in the research and prepping stages of getting backyard chickens and my husband actually suggested the style of coop that you have. In my research, though, there are so many things that don't quite mesh. Chickens fear overhead predators; that's just in their instinct so reaching in from above to "steal" their eggs seems like exactly the thing to scare the poop out of them. Carolina Coops, and builds like theirs, have nesting boxes up a little higher with doors that open from the back rather than the top. Also, the deep litter method seems to help with the henhouse smell and mess. Have you ever looked into or have experience with these?
Lol you are over thinking all of this. Collect the eggs whichever way works for you, they don't care.
@@HappyTailsAnimals LOL ☺
Can you make a video about you prairie dogs?
I want a sugar glider
WAUW cool hahah :)
The Over EZ coops are nice, but you take a big risk if you have it shipped to your home. They are notorious for arriving with major damage and/or missing parts and returning your damaged coop or trying to obtain missing parts can be a huge headache. If you want one of their coops, buy it at a brick and mortar TSC or other farm outlet where you can inspect the coop before laying down your money.
I have had two coops shipped and there was no damage at all. And everyone that has told me they bought one, didn't have any damage.
How many chickens do you keep in your coop? I got this coop with the 6x15 run. My chicks are too small to go in it their only 3 weeks old but I got 9 black austrolorps. Now people are telling me it’s to small for that many chickens. I bought this cause of your videos. It should be fine for that many chickens right? Never had chickens before just want them to be comfortable.
That's perfect! Certainly more than 9 large chickens can fit in the large coop. With a 6x15 run, that's 10 square feet per bird for 9 hens. So that's the right size!
What are some good cold weather chicken breeds for someone who wants eggs?
Orpington. Or have you considered ducks?
Happy Tails I’m open to ducks but would prefer chickens, just starting to think about it so I want to decide on chickens or ducks early before I go into all the research
Checkout last weeks video. Ducks are a great option for cold climates.
Ah can this coop be used for ducks? Or is there a better one for ducks?
I wish I had a good answer to that. I haven't used it for ducks and I'm not sure if it would work for them. For sure you would need a custom ramp. But considering ducks won't roost, I think there are cheaper options than this.
hello! please can you do a video about most affectionate pets, because whenever i search most videos are beginner pets. i have had many pets and i don't need "beginner" haha i kind of want a more exotic pet. since my hamster died (we had no fear of us we didn't even have to tame him) i've really missed an animal to cuddle. please make a most affectionate pets video💖
or even if not a video just a reply, it would mean a lot💖
Price?
Can you please make a playlist just for snakes?
The best are Chicken Coop Company.
Can you feature your rats again 😍
Chickens need 3 square ft. per chicken
