The main issue I think is who enforces the dress code. In high school this girl was basically humiliated when the teacher told her that the shirt she was wearing was too short even though it covered her stomach. She then proceeded to talk about how important the dress code was and of course we all knew that no one was dress coded.
Nobody cares. Piper rockelle and all of these dumb youtubers are rubbish.
So unfair! My teen daughter has been "dress coded" many times at her middle school unfairly for clothing that I felt was completely appropriate. One of the biggest problems with the dress code is that it seems to only apply to certain students, and always only females. Time for rules to change! It's not the 1800's!

My opinion is there should be a dress code in schools, But it should be equal for boys and girls. If there is no dress code students won't wear properly because they know that they won't be dress coded. You come to school to study not to show your shoulders and stomach 🤷♀️

I was an early bloomer but very skinny, I got dress coded for having a too low shirt at age 9, I cried for weeks after that, I'm 13 now and get catcalled everyday in 7th grade

I still some times do even when working in places I very obviously shouldn’t be getting hit on and tbh I’ve had to do a lot of telling people off. Even in front of bosses who luckily stood by me. I’m proud I have a voice but I hate that since it’s been a thing from a young age I’ve always just kinda wanted to be hidden. I’m 29 now and I will occasionally dress cute but it’s not often and I almost never wear make up. I’m at that weird stage of trying to be comfortable with myself but still not wanting attention from others.

If your body should not concern us, keep it covered up. Most men do not have breasts. Their areolas are smaller compared to most women. I think this country would be a much better place if women like you were sent to Afghanistan to be taken down a peg, while their women are brought here, where they can appreciate modesty without suppression.
So basically people should be able to wear whatever they want wherever they want and there shouldn't even be dress codes for a job. But isn't school supposed to prepare students for the work environment? How are they going to tolerate any type of dress codes at a job in the future?
Because the reality is men get excited and many don’t respect you. So you will get unwanted attention, which is also a complaint by woman. It’s the reality of the world being unfair. Woman’s bodies drive men nuts.
I’m so glad someone else recognizes this. Girls at my school constantly get dress coded for wearing something that 1. Isn’t distracting the boys and 2. Is actually following dress code.
And it’s not right that dress codes are mainly focused on girls either, I’ve just barely managed to not get dress coded because I wear a hoodie over everything. But it’s so awesome to know that other people realize it too

I’m a boy. Everyone at my school knows girls are a target to dress coding and I say it should stop too. The boys are the ones always getting detention for having hoodies up or hats on. When a girl’s never get bothered for that stuff, but way more strict code.

I was wondering why the boys didn't get in trouble, in situations like that, it could be counted as verbal sexual harassment, what women wear is not an invitation or a sight to see, women should feel comfortable in clothing they prefer and shouldn't be treated anymore different then a beautiful women that they are. it is completely unfair the standards held against women and their clothing choice by society.
Because men don’t actually do this, most men don’t care about what women wear. As someone who knows what it feels like to be a male we couldn’t give two less shits if a girl is wearing a crop top, wearing tight clothes, or showing their shoulders.

I got dress coded at work for shorts and it was 100 degrees outside and they sent me home so I stayed home. Let’s just say I don’t work there anymore. They let the men wear shirts and I can see their nipples through them but want me to wear a bra. It is the most sexist thing because men can’t keep it in their pants and then they blame women… the only time I’m for dress codes is if you are dealing with certain machines or equipment where your hair could get stuck or chemicals spilled on you. Everything else you should be able to wear whatever. Society is so dumb. No I don’t want to wear a pant suit I want to wear jeans and a cute crop top.

The dress code is always so strict on girls, like why are we getting in trouble for the fact that some other people are distracted. The other day I got in trouble for wearing leggings, with a top that didn't pass my @$$. Then I saw like 6 other people get dress coded for tang tops, shorts, belly buttons, bra straps showing, TOO ripped jeans, and dumb stuff like that, they were all girls, and the other day my strap was showing, and my teacher was like pull up your shirt and I did then I got cold and put on a jacket and she was like Much better. Then today they come on morning announcements and are like we have seen so many girls with "short shorts" and showing "midriff" or "shoulders", then they literally said, "we shouldn't be seeing anymore FLESH" Like what!?! It's just not fair and at this point it's become a joke amongst most of the girls like "omg, Abby your ankles are showing that's like so distracting you're going to get in soooo much trouble". IM done with the dress code and kind of want to purposefully go against it. if anyone knows they go to the same school or even the same county i think we need to do something about cause im over it, if you have ideas pls tell me, this is a real issue. the dress code is so old and $exi$t.

Piper thank you so much for this video. I am homeschooled but I deal with my parents dress code. I’m almost 15 and my parents need to exam my outfit to make sure it’s “modest” enough. I am so tired of people saying “ your going to distract the boys” or as my father says “ you don’t know how a boys mind works. We should all be allowed to wear what we want and it shouldn’t matter what other people think. I totally agree that you should wear what makes you feel confident and pretty. I would always stood up if something wrong happens . Especially when someone creates a disparity between girls and boys dress codes . Standing for someone who is right is a right think to do . I have always stood up for my friends whenever something wrong happens or some kind of disparity is there . My school still has a dress code I can't wear crop tops or spaghetti straps, but if you don't wanna follow those rules just homeschool its as simple as that.

I wish i had this in highschool, I was a curvy girl and I could wear the same thing someone beside me was wearing but I would get called out. it is such a shame.

Ok then, how about we teach the boys not to get distracted when they see us. I love how this video directs attention to girls and young woman being criticized on the things they wear. If someone doesnt like or cant stop looking at you in a certain shirt, pair of pants, or even a whole outfit then they should deal with themselves first. Why should girls have to limit themselves when boys cant keep it in their pants.
