In this video I will explain my experience doing faux locs using the traditional method. This was my first time doing faux locs this way so I hope you enjoy the steps taken to achieve this style! All links are provided below.

I love your work. The other method it is faster but the natural hair was an issue for me. This is the method I use but let me give u a tip. Instead of using a whole peice to braid use half of it. Sometimes I cut one peice in half and make 4 braids. Or how about this. Use yarn at the base. It is a lighter option only problem make sure u moisturize the he'll out of that natural hair before adding yarn becuase it holds moisture.

If you referring to the ones that have 3 bundles in them then possibly, although I havnt used those packs yet

Yes I used 16in on her but I extended it

When starting the braid did you cut the cuban twist hair in half or did you just use a whole one ?.. if that makes sense lol
I had to go back and watch myself lol I think they are cut in half. That's a great question and my apologies for leaving out those deatails.

If I wanted several of the pieces to be just with the deep twist hair, aka not a faux loc, to create a boho look is there a technique I could use to do that? I was thinking wrapping just the deep twist or gogo curl hair, around the cornrow, but idk of it'll stay?
I dont think it would wrap well around itself, but I have an idea for you. If you want to have those pieces hanging losely. Crochet it through the braid as normal. Clip half of it to the side and only wrap one half of the piece with cuban twist hair.

How do you get the locs to be the same size or do it come that way already?
The locs are individually hand wrapped. The same amount of pieces of hair were used for each loc.

Hi JJ, thank you catching that. I didn't realize I didn't elaborate on that part. I will certainly take that into consideration for future videos. Once you get close to the end you begin to wrap the hair up the loc and then palm roll it

This way is quite long though, prefer the other method and it's more flexible as well
Yes you are correct. The other way is quicker, however the braids didn't stay inside the locs very well for me
@@NiqueLynn that is true, the wrapping hair kept shifting up and down and hair inside kept peeking out.
