    Hi new friend. Thanks for walking us through this process. Working on your RV can feel intimidating sometimes but you've done a great job here teaching us. Excited for more videos with you!

    Great video Sean! You do a great job of illustrating and making these tasks appear easy to tackle. Someday I will be brave enough to pull open my underbelly and crack open my black tank valve! The "catastrophe" valve has definitely saved me in the past and wouldn't be without it. I will just swing our rig over to you for a solar and electric gate valve install!

      Hi Sarah and Ryan. Thanks so much for stopping by, watching and commenting it really means a lot to us. 😀❤ Tell you what, I am more than happy to be of any assistance I can. I certainly understand that it can be intimidating to tackle some of these projects. I hope you two are doing well. Angie and I are hoping to get back out on the road on Tuesday when this cold spell passes. Take Care and Safe Travels!!! 😀👍❤ Sean & Angie

      Thanks for stopping by Dave. Yeah, having a 40 gallon black tank and a 65 gallon grey tank is nice. When we bought our first slide in the bed truck camper in 93, it has a 5 gallon black tank. With 3 little girls at the time I didn't generally use it...much. Left it for the girls, and it was always full by the end of a weekend. 😜 We are headed out tomorrow for southern Utah for a month, try to get where its a bit warmer. Take Care!! Sean

    Sean you are such a pro! You do really solid work 👍🏼03:34 I feel you pain LOL I too feel like it would be just my luck when working on projects such as this 😄This is such an awesome project to add as an addition! I am also eyeing up that MORryde cable storage at 05:50 👀To be honest I am going to have to stop watching or else I am going to go broke with additions that I want to add to our rig 😂JK Seriously though, I am going to be using your how to videos as references in the future. Keep up the great work Sean and Angie! Safe travels guys 👋🏼- Kyle and Renee

      Thanks so much Kyle. And thanks for stopping by and leaving such a nice comment. I love that MORryde storage reel. I roll up not only the 30 foot 50 amp cord that came with the rig, but an additional 25 foot 50 amp extention cord as well. The only drawback with storing the both cords on the roll is when we are at an RV park and I need the use of the 50 Amp cord I have to unroll both cords, the roll the extention cord back on the reel. But it's also nice having the extension. Thanks again for stopping by and I am glad you have found value in watching our videos. Take care you two and safe travels!! Sean & Angie. 👍😁❤️

      @@ouRVisionnomadicliving hey I love the honest opinion! It’s the little things like that, that can make or break your purchase. Still sounds like it is worth it! So glad you guys have one and are getting a lot of good use out of it. Can’t remember, how much are they roughly? Like $100 or something?
      Absolutely love supporting you guys! It’s icing on the cake to learn all of these great how to tutorials 😊👍🏼 - Kyle

    How you liking the EZ valve bro? I have a couple to put in that I haven’t gotten around to yet. I think the cables cause a lot of issues so I figure the electronic would be better even though I prefer mechanical for most things

    • @ouRVisionnomadicliving
      @ouRVisionnomadicliving  Před 2 lety +1

      I really like it. Last Oct, about a year after installing it the switched went bad. I called Valterra and they sent me a new switch free of charge. I keep thinking I need to get a spare switch to have on hand.🤔 As its almost been a year I better get on that...LOL. 🍻 Sean

  • @WhoaNellieRVAdventures

    What made you decided to go with an electric valve instead of manual. In cold weather, will an electric valve be a problem? Glad you didn't have a problem with the install. ~Lucy

    • @ouRVisionnomadicliving
      @ouRVisionnomadicliving  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Lucy, thanks for watching and commenting. I am just not a fan of the cable valves. When I got the valve out I discovered that the reason it was leaking was because when the cable was pushed all the way in, the valve was not closing. I could have probably adjusted it, but I had already had purchased the electric valve. Having the electric valve should not cause any problems when its cold. Because the valve had started leaking, fluid has been seeping by it and filling the pipe between it, and the valve I have on the end of the sewer connection. I wanted to get this done by this weekend. Its supposed to drop down to 7 degrees here tonight, and tomorrow. I didn't want the fluid in the pipe to freeze and create a "poopcicle" in the tube and block up the pipe. Got it done just in time. Take Care!!! Sean

      @@ouRVisionnomadicliving Thank You Sean for you reply! Our valves are near the end of the pipe so we don't have cables to deal with. Brian just recently replaced the gaskets on the valves. When we are in cold weather we have to wrap the pipes with insulation tape. We had a popsicle incident once.
      I'm glad the installation worked out good for you and just in time! ~Lucy

    Was the old one leaking? Ok, heard you said was leaking....

    • @ouRVisionnomadicliving
      @ouRVisionnomadicliving  Před 3 lety

      Yes, It would leak into and fill up the pipe between it, and the Valterra twist valve I have installed on the end of our sewer connection. I wanted to get this done before this weekend as it is supposed to drop down to 7 degrees tonight, and again tomorrow. As the last few inches of the sewer connection are exposed, I didn't want a poopcicle to occur and freeze up our sewer outlet.After removing the cable valve. I determined that when I pushed in the cable, the valve itself was not fully closing. I probably could have adjusted the cable to get it to work again, but I had already bought the electric one. Thanks so much for watching! Hope you two are having a safe trip headed south!. 👍 Sean

    My only question is, WHY? is it really that hard to pull a rod to open your poop valve?

    • @ouRVisionnomadicliving
      @ouRVisionnomadicliving  Před 2 lety

      It can be, those cable valves are a PITA. Not only can they get difficult to pull, the cables break. I did this install 18 months ago and I'm still happy about it. As I said in the video, when my grey tank valve needs replaced this will be the route I go. 👍 🍻 Sean
