The term Molotov Cocktail was coined by Finnish soldiers in the winter war, basically they called the cluster bombs that the russians used on them Molotov bread baskets after the man Vyacheslav Molotov, the soviet's foreign minister. They called them Molotov Cocktails because it "was a drink to go with his food parcels" (The clusterbombs)

If you dissolve polystyrene into the petrol before you make a Molotov cocktail or petrol bomb as we call them here in the U.K. it makes kinda of Nepalm so it not only burns but the petrol sticks to everything making it much more dangerous and deadly. You can make a pretty impressive bomb from weed killer but it needs to have sodium chlorate as the main ingredient then all you need is some sugar a 500ml drink can and a handful of nails ball bearings etc. We made one about 15 years ago and put in in a phone box thinking we would blow the cash box off little did we know how strong it is and it blew the phonebox to smitherines all that was left was the concrete base. The explosion made the local news and was in the local newspaper’s.

The molotov cocktail was named after a widely hated politician.
The Molotov from the Molotov Ribbentrop pact?
By the Finns mainly lol
It is named after, Vyacheslav Molotov
by the Finns. They were used against soviet tanks in the Winter War. Molotov was essentially the minister of foreign affairs and propaganda guy. Finns didnt like him because he justified the use of incendiary and cluster bombs upon finnish towns/cities, saying that they were delivering food.
@@TheBeefCentral thanks for the info my guy.
Yes and it was actually named by the Finnish during the ‘Winter War’, bc Molotov, a Red Army General/Commander type, who said the bombs they dropped on the Fins were “food rations”. They ended calling the bombs “Molotovs Meals” or something like that, and crafted the “Molotov Cocktails” and then subsequently named them that as they were fitting, because it’s a drink to go with his meal

Could that sketch of the unabomber look anything more unlike Ted Kaczenski????

"GET AWAY OR YOUR SHIRTS GONNA BE CLEAN!"
When I was a kid and my friends and I would have airsoft battles, we’d always try and find ways of making “bombs”, but more in the ways Woody and Taylor described. We’d actually do Coke and Mentos Molotov’s, Ping Pong ball smoke grenades (doubled as chemical warfare), or put BB’s and firecrackers in Easter Eggs and toss them at each other. good times.

When they said I don’t know how to make one, Kyle looked over like 👀👀
interesting insight from Furious Pete there
Ted's manifesto was the ORIGINAL TED talk
I made a cannon from a book on civil war weapons from the school library. There's info everywhere.
I think the origin of the name "Molotov" comes from Vyacheslav Molotov, the former minister of Foreign Affairs of the Soviet Union. When the Soviets invaded Finland prior to the war against the Germans, the Finns came up with the weapon and named it after him to mock the Russians that were getting obliterated in the early phase of the war.
Another possibility is that the Soviets came up with the name in reference to the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact (peace agreement between Germany and the U.S.S.R) since it had broken down when the Germans invaded. The Soviets wanted to "welcome" the Germans with a special "cocktail" from Vyacheslav Molotov himself.
The term molatov cocktail comes from the finns during the winter war. While the soviets were bombing helsinki their foreign minister said they were dropping bread to starving finns. Thus the joke that these were "Molotov" cocktails.
Kyle really stretched his arm to put it around Taylor

Kyle! Even tho u can’t own a fire arm, you CAN still use antique muzzle loaders so u can still technically shoot guns and defend your home

I mean you get 1 and done but I use a 50 cal muzzle loader and frankly with a hollow point, if you can't do it with one, that's on you haha. I mean mine is modern so I'm curious if it it the technology or the actual age that matters. Thanks and happy Friday!
@@modestgrower2017 hi there! Yeah according to the ATF, since they don’t consider them “ firearms” a felon can own one but it has to be a muzzle loader. It can’t be the new black powered breach loaders. HOWER it also comes down to each state, even though tho the ATF doesn’t consider a muzzle loader, some states still may want you to get some sort of license for a muzzle loader. And it will be up to their discretion to give a felon one or not. New York for example where I live, just announced that they want to an consider all muzzle loaders firearms. I’m not sure if they have yet or not. But yes as far as federal law goes, a felon can own a muzzle loader.

Nah. Molotov cocktails were invented by the Finnish when they were fighting off the Soviets in 1939. They did name them after Molotov, who was in charge of foreign affairs at the time. They named it after him because he had made over the top, ridiculous demands for the Finnish to cede huge swaths of territory that Molotov knew the Finnish would reject since Finland had gained independence from Russia during the revolution in Russia. So the thing was a giant middle finger to Molotov as Soviet troops were horrifically burned to death because of his aggression towards the Finnish.
Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Molotov was who they were named after it was a pejorative name from the Finnish army due to Soviet propaganda
Home depot out sells your 'buddy' in bomb components sales every damn day.....

Fun fact: 5:25 DONT use gasoline, use diesel when making your Molotov cocktails. You can mix gas and alcohol together and use that but if you use just gas? No beuno my friend
Edit: also the Finnish kinda came up with the name Molotov cocktail when they used them against the soviets, some Spanish general started using them in the Spanish American war and thats like the earliest use of molotovs.
