The Grote Les Paul is a bit of a mixed bag... some highs and some lows with this one! Let us know what you think...

got a gold top one....agree with the picup assessment ...they are good...i am impressed with the stability of bridge ...it does not lean forward as some low end copies do.....fretless wonder

Nice, I need to keep my eye out for a gold top. I might just upgrade the tuners. Once the fret ends are fully sorted too on mine, it doesn't need too much more tweaking to be a really solid player.

What happened to fret 11 i think it was, it doesn't reach the end of the binding it was cut too short. I'm surprised you didn't mention that, for me i would have sent it back

You're right, I spotted it too after posting the video, I was so focused on the sharp frets during the recording. Another Q/C one. Having said that it's not something that can be felt too much in normal playing. It does illustrate the haste with which it was put together though it seems...

I tried Hipshot 10mm locking tuners and they fit on mine. It would be worth measuring your own tuner holes to be on the safe side though.

Did you measure the radius of the fingerboard?

It feels very similar to my other les pauls so I would say about 12 inches

These are about £150 to £200 usually, give or take. About the same in USD or Euros.

It's so confusing to buy guitars lately. It's hard to tell which is the bang for the buck.

So true! It's nice to have options but yeah... lots of choice. This is a good one but could do with a few adjustments to get the most from it.

Do your research, there are amazing China factories that now have the technology and manufacturing CNC machines that once were only owned by big dollar name brands. The last 10 years, and absolutely the last 7 have changed everything. Look at companies like WOLF AIO, Harley Benton, Grote, IYV, FireFly, Fesley, Squier. There are some like WOLF that actually completely set up these guitars at your liking and request before delivery. Fesley sends a depth chart with their guitars that will confirm an actual human quality checked the string heights at set up before leaving the factory for your hands. Impressive QC departments are handling an outstanding built guitar these days at these factories, something that was unheard of just a few years ago. The finish work and components are getting better with each day. If you search budget guitars on CZcams you’ll find differences in each one, but you will find extremely great standouts. A great Channel for budget quality is Guitar MAX, he covers them all and is outstanding for gathering information.
