I don't think i am the first person to watch this video multiple times or ever will be. What a wonderful Bass. Sometimes the ocean smiles on you, maybe its because of respect. Thank you for sharing this moment.
Thanks I watch it back myself too ! Still kicking myself I didn’t get a good trophy photo or even bother to turn on my other camera !
Nice of you to put them back for the trawlers!!! On a serious note its time commercial bass fishing is banned
Thanks for your reply, Trawlers can devistate im sure, also not a fan of gill nets for local populations.
A bass that size is VERY old. Been avoiding nets and trawlers all its life. Almost certainly a female. It will live to breed again and almost certainly not be caught again. All big bass should be returned without question! :-)
@@kerryfoster1 True. Seen some monsters whilst spearfishing, but never take anything over 3-4 lb
@@kerryfoster1 for a newbie (but old fart!) to fishing, that is good to know and is taken on board. 👍🏻
Well done you for releasing it
Yep my last one was 90cm and 16lb when I was fishing for coal fish after storm Ophelia on the wexford coast. She was released back with a tear after hunting one that big for 20 years 👍
It was always going to happen for you👍
Congratulations on your first double mate, I do love to hear other anglers get excited when they know they have a decent fish on. It really makes all the time we put in worth it.
Thanks. I had to laugh at myself listening back but your right about the time effort and money! We all put in being worth it. Cheers for watching
Congratulations mate! Very good catch and great attitude and thanks for posting! I bet you will never EVER forget that moment she first broke surface and you seen the size of it
Thanks for the comment, yes i still have the unedited footgae and keep looking back !
Fantastic catch,so nice to see these bass returned, there magnificent predators,my pb was just over 10lb,it gets the heart pumping lol
Many thanks, yes now we want more !
Would really appreciate you watching this in HD. You can change the settings using the gear icon to the bottom right of the video. This is so you can pick out some fish on the water a bit easier.
Brilliant. In just a short film you've conveyed exactly why we go fishing. All the blanks, lost gear, missed bites, lost fish, lousy weather.....and then, one day......
Thanks its so true
Truly amazing video mate. Beautiful sunset and then a monster bass chasing and taking your lure. Awesome stuff congratulations.
Thank you - and a great album as your username !
Fantastic video, congratulations on your PB, must be breathtaking to see a fish like that take your lure! Well done 😀🎣👍🏻
Appreciate that many thanks
Bass of a life time! Glad you released it.
Thanks yes it was never in question. Appreciate your comments
Well done so pleased you returned the fish after a long hard tussle!
Congratulations
Yes, thanks
Respect for releasing it chap,if that fish ends up filling out,it will be a beast
Wonder where she is now?
Hell of a fish! Fantastic footage. Lovely to see such a magnificent fish go back too. Nice one 👍🎣
Thanks. I had a second camera set up but forgot to record in all the excitement. Yea it had to go back for sure at that size. Have subscribed to you and would ask my audience.to check you out. Here.
czcams.com/users/WashfordRichy loving. your videos. Im setting up a private working /mastermind group for us sea fishing tubers. Will send details if your interested. Tight lines
Excellent channel very informative I’ve just watched a few and am loving it
I’m more of a pike angler but tryed my hand at top water bass last summer and can’t wait to get back out there
Great channel and good luck matey
Thanks very much
Unbeatable. Great fish. Subscribed in the hope of seeing more.
There’s a 9lber and a 7 on the channel too
Bass do put up great fights don't they! That's one perfect and amazing catch!😎
cheers for that
This is magic. I cant wait for the better weather. Very well done 👍
Thanks.. Roll on summer!
Brilliant video and Fish!! Well done, nice to see the bass so clear making those runs.......one day🙏
Thank you for saying that. I looked at this Mark at low tide and must of played it over the only bits of clean ground bit of luck and a fishing dream come true.
Fabulous video and lovely to see the childhood excitement in your voice and actions when hooking and landing such a beautiful bass.Really enjoyed watching and makes me want to go fishing and to catch any sized bass for me would be an achievement as not the worlds greatest lure angler, but watching your footage gave me that urge to throw an imitation out for some fish.well done again friend
Thank you Dominic I’ve now been back over 12 times and not caught a fish from here ! Lure fishing is all or nothing isn’t it the thrill of a bass hitting a surface lure is as good as it gets for me and I’ll keep aiming for that. Appreciate your comments
A magnificent fish! Never caught one that big (a bass) What the viewer doesn't get is your heart pounding in your chest with the fear of it getting off! I had this when I caught my 27lb cod on the Pier at Newhaven.I like the way it conveys the time and effort it takes to subdue a fish of this size. It always looks better when someone else films it, you have quite enough to think about fighting the fish!
Niiice man! This is why I always keep animating my lure until the last moment
I'll always do it from now on, thanks for your comment. You'll often see bass follow right up to your feet
Good to see your release 👍
My pb is 12 and a quarter pound, a few years ago now, but I lost one from a boat that was much much bigger, I still cry over that 28 years later now. Real pleased for you, a special moment, and yes, I know exactly how you would have felt hooking into that fish. You can never quite believe it.
Fully understand why you concealed your spot, I’m the same. Our bass marks are hard earned.
That must of been amazing 👍 I must admit I knew it was well hooked and not flipping around I. The fish’s mouth. Ref marks as you know you could well fish that mark and if tides and times are not right you will blank over and over again. Most of the time it’s the gill nets coming in the next day that I worry about but I actually had to drive here for a couple of days after the video and no one was there and I blanked too! Happy days thanks for your comments again
@@SaltwaterAngler true, all built up knowledge goes out the window if those horrible gill net are there. Theyre so close to shore sometimes as well, ive often thought thats dangerous for swimmers. Those nets kill everything. Horrible things. Yuk
Brilliant fish mate, absolutely amazing. I am fishing for seabass two years now, and this fishing is the best I have ever come across. I will have a Sebass video coming up on my channel in the next 2-3 weeks. Can't wait for the new season, best of luck man, hope you will be able to beat that one day!!
Yes it's my favourite method too. Will check it out
@@SaltwaterAngler thanks Matt
Superb release, love the the feeling you had catching it
Great fish 👍 well done - I know exactly how you feel, I had a big bass off a Dorset beach many years ago, on a whole pouting deadbait under the rod tip at dusk. They fight so well and I’ll never forget the speed it stripped line off the reel. Mine was also 11lb 8oz and it was returned too. Fish like that are once in a lifetime for most of us - you’ll enjoy the memories for a long time; I have 👍
That sounds like a wonderful memory Peter. A live poring has to to be the number 1 big bass method too. You never know there’s always a chance of another double one day
Legend! Bloody good videos these
Ahh thanks for watching I’m honestly just trying to produce something I would watch
Excellent. Keep the videos coming.
They are, sorry for the late reply
Great you got it on camera, thanks for the videos, learnt a lot ;-)
Yes thanks again.I was so anxious i hadn't pressed record !
What a beautiful fish! Well done. Must have been a great fight. Brilliant! 👍👍👍👍
Thanks it seems very long and lean for a double figure fish but the fight was a blur really. Lucky really have lost countless smaller fish
Awesome Bass, heart in the mouth stuff. Love Bass flyfishing and lure fishing, usually around Chicester harbour. Tight lines
Hi Chris that’s a great method for bass too
GREAT !! Catch and release - I love it!
Thanks Keith
Good to see bass going back
Lovely video and nice bass love it when you apologised for not putting up close up shots of that big bass and very well done on release. Love watching your videos buddy.
Thank you for your comments, appreciated. Im still kicking myself for not filming or even taking a photo properly over a year later !
What a beauty, congratulations. Thanks for sharing!
No worries thanks for watching
Must have watched this about ten times 😀 Great watching every time 👍🐠
Glad you enjoyed it
I’ve had a 12lb 5 ounce, huge tail on it. Took me about 15 mins to play it out. That was on a blue Rapala J11. I used to catch a lot of big bass from certain marks I knew, but I’ve noticed that in the last five or six years, big bass are much fewer in number. I’ve had an 11 pounder as well, but that was downtiding from my kayak. Good video, enjoyed
Would love to see some fishing videos on the island, now we're allowed to go fishing in this lockdown I've been out a few times this past week. Next week is going to be a scorcher so you can bet I'll be all over the island on my motorbike with some light spinning gear 💪
Got to be climate change mate. That’s the excuse for everything else.
I'm really pleased for you, well done fella!
Thank you very much. Its taken a while
Klonking fish mate. Big thumbs up for putting it back!
Thanks for your comments.
Thats a fantastic Bass. I can understand how you must have felt. Started lure fishing last summer and caught a 5Ib Bass, what a feeling. So nice to see the fish returned as well. I could'nt keep a Bass after they have given so much during the fight. Thanks for posting.
Thanks, I didn't catch my first 5 for years! Thanks for taking the time to comment and good luck for lure fishing in 2019
Saltwater Angler and the same to you for 2019. Can’t wait to get at it
Wow, a fish of a lifetime in the making. so pleased for you, a big well done. I don't understand why people give you the thumbs down for that cracking effort, makes me sick.
That’s very kind of you, thanks for watching. When this video initially came out it got a thumbs down before it even started being played on premiere ! As a creator it’s the thoughtful comments that matter. My must hated video percentage video is the channel trailer for some reason 🤔🤔
@@SaltwaterAngler I think some people are totally disrespectful in what effort is been made to bring contents to the audience. I do blank a lot of times here in Scotland, especially in winter as we have not many whiting up here, but I still try and show my subscribers that effort is been made.
Nice one, good luck for next one 👍👍👍
Great video mate, even better to see you let it go back.
Thanks for watching
great Vid, Well done MAte
amazing! I caught a 9.7 lb bass as my first ever fish in the uk! my pb before that was a palm sized fish .. I was honestly aiming for small fish and I was very upset that I wasn’t catching any .. I used circle hook with squid and mackerel and I got a huge fish!!!
Theres a lesson there thanks for that 😀
Great fight from a beautiful fish. Well done for returning it.
Thanks sure was some luck too !
well done & good man for putting it back
Cheers Michael
Amazing fishing. well done. I waited 50+ years fishing and still not caught a double figure fish. How satisfying for you.
Yep I knew it at the time it could be a bit special- still dream of another one though
Catch and release - I love it! 👍
Appreciated John
Fantastic video man ! Nice catch & release !!!
Thanks a lot!
Amazing fishing mate what a beaut bass that is one tip don’t wind through the drag really wears out the reel. You may need to tighten it up a bit
You are a good man for returning the Bass👍😁
Its eyes were too big !
Absolutel Class for putting that stunner back ! I know you've probably been asked loads but what part of the U.K was that mate ? Cheers 👍 Tights Lines Anyway !
Thanks this was near eastbourne
Bit late but congrats 👏 what a beautiful fish, thanks from our kids for putting it back, proper hero! 😀 cheers now 👍
Thanks Steven - I wonder where she might be now that old fish - nice way to think about the future too saved for the kids 👍
What a beast, nicely done!
Thanks Trevor
I just can't take my eyes 👀 ... It's wonderful✨😍
Great video.for me You capture the essennce of bass fishing .thanks
Thank you
Amazing video mate :)
Wow, what a fish! Just shows why we never give up on a dream catch. You guys down south are lucky to have the bass that you've got, even if it is needing help. Scottish bass (north east anyway) are much fewer. It takes a dedicated angler to catch up here. They are around but its definitely a proper challenge.
Yea its not too bad here down south but we dont get the codling anymore !
Ah thats a fair swap then. I couldn't do without the cod sessions. Lucky enough to get them all year round. You do get a bit fed up with the same thing all the time tho. We get wrasse and Pollock but again you need to know the marks, very hit and miss
very exciting stuff, well done!
thanks for watching
Just had a couple of weeks of blanks, it’s a video like this I revisit to keep my spirits up.
Me too ! Fishing will improve - June a good month for bigger bass in Sussex
Incredible angling wow superb thank you for the video, 🙌 well done mate absolutely stunning
Thanks for saying that
Thats a beautiful fish. I envy you man
Holy cow, that is a donkey of a bass, and to get it on video? Respect all around!!!!!!
Many thanks, Think i was more nervous checking to see if i had the footage as i was landing the fish. Appreciate your comments
Good fishing I love fishing I never I caught a fish yet but I'm still trying
Henry miss your fishing shows watched you a lot in Ireland on tv
@@user-hl9ku9xx7t Just persevere and keep reading and watching as much as you can to pick up tips. Good luck.
Wow the man himself hope you and your family are well, all the best now 👍
Is that Brighton? I'm assuming it is, I think I recognise that place.
I think areas are pixeled out to avoid giving the spot away.........
Thats a fantastic bass great to catch all the action on video.Big bass can rattle grown men well done
Cheers for that. Yea was more nervous seeing if the video had recorded! Thanks for watching and your comments
Beautiful. Respects for returning that one. That could have been a nice bar b cue. Please share fishing mark postcode thanks. So bored of this lockdown
Ha yea time to get out now for sure. Heres the grid reference .... Lol actually ive not caught since at that venue !
I was in kefalonia last year for 4 weeks . I caught a 12lb bass .. it was absolutely amazing .. .. it was in a little place called katileos all the locals and holiday makers stood and clapped 👏 till I beached it ... ❤IT
Fantastic!
Thats a nice bass that can feel your heart pumping 🎣
Yea thanks Neil
Epic! 👏🏼
Decent you put them back! Great fish 👌🏻
Yea too big to keep James, Once I looked in to its big eye 💪 it’s been out there surviving for years might still be out there as a 16lber now !
Can anybody answer this, is there bass around donegal? Iv never heard of them being caught.
Anyone ?
What are you blocking out with those pixels?
Cracking fish, worth getting wet feet! Good on you for putting it back to spawn 👍
Hopefully it is a spawner, many become roe bound and never release but i hope she is still out there
Absolutely beautiful fish and nice video to watch!
Thank you -
Great video mate ad extra creds for a quick release. Beautiful stuff.
Thank you. It was only when I got it back in I realised I didn't take any photos even though I'd set up a camera ready for it.
Thanks for subscribing
Same as me with my biggest double on a lure. Got 2 quick pics and back she went. pics dont do her justice and i was too concerned with getting her back. I won't forget the scrap though. :-)
Awesome fish mate just shows how picky they can be to the lures on any day, hope it's the first of many lunkers for you !
Yea I recon they can smell those cheap lures too. Thanks for your kind comments it's appreciated
What a fish .. this gives me the motivation !
Great sorry for the late reply
Bloody lovely I'm the same for 40 year, still wateing mite bring me luck ! Lovely fish .
What a cracking Bass very well done that certainly got me excited to get out again .i hope to join the double figure club some day biggest is 8.6 and that was 15 years ago haha still trying .
It will happen for sure
Great video!
Fantastic fishing! Congratulations on a superb catch!
Thanks, sorry i missed your comment !
@@SaltwaterAngler that's alright mate, just drop me a sub and all is forgiven! 😉😄👍
congrats mate, nice fish, great spot
Thanks for your comment Karl wood, The long walk was worth it
So happy you put it back. God protect them. They're attached to eachother alot. Please leave them alone. And many other fish. :(
Absolutely brilliant fantastic bass congrats screaming reels ha remember that fishing series back in the 90,s I this it was
Ha ha yes I do remember it !
well done fantastic fish
That went well 😁👍
Fantastic...respect✌🏼🎣🎣😍😍🔝
And no better way than on topwater, right at your feet!!!!! Epic footage!!!
Sure Mark thanks
Excellent, truly excellent.
Is this on the coast of the Isle of Wight?
Pleased for you, well done and thanks for sharing
Thank you. Quite a personal one to share for me but hopefully will get people out and about
Lets hope this ban on catch and kill keeps up till stocks really climb back and a size cap keep the bigger bass producing thousands of eggs maybe a 1 fish take home max 2 i love a sea bass supper fresh from the sea
Great catch well done a lifetime lasting memory shared thanks great to see the care you had for the fish too !
Thanks for your thoughts all wise words good sir. Filming went out the window once I saw the fish so good to see it kick off.
The ban has been relaxed you can now catch and kill 1 bass per session at 42cm as from October 2nd last year
Mr O Mr O A slight contradiction in your comments 🤔 When you see the numbers of Bass caught by commercial fishermen, I really don’t see the point in a total ban for pleasure anglers. I agree with the limit at present, one fish per session 42 centimetres or over, although I generally only take a fish 45 centimetres or over but would never take a fish like this. A great fish and fantastic memories. 👏👏
Nice fish mate 🎣🎣👍👍👍
Well done buddy. What a beautiful fish and the excitement in your voice says it all. Just amazing !!! I was down at Swanage for a couple of days visiting a relative. I took my little telescopic spinning rod and I caught a small Pollock and my first ever bass of just over 3lb …. Never done any sea fishing before. Give me a good little scrap. Just the weather was a bit rough but I was well chuffed …… A fish like that what are you caught would be a fish of a lifetime for anybody . I mainly fish for chub and perch on Yorkshire rivers so was nice just to try some salt water fishing for a change. It’s something I will definitely be trying again. Just need to get some different bits of kit and some different Lures .. cracking video and all The best to you !! 🎣🎣😀😀👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽…
PS. Subscribed 😊😊
Nice one thanks John- I think that’s the joy in fishing you could be fishing for perch one day or in the sea the next. Lots of lure related content on the channel . That’s not a bad start for your saltwater catch either a 3lb bass and a pollack , thanks for the sub , some
More bass on lure is coming soon !
@@SaltwaterAngler cheers for that buddy. Yes totally agree. Anyway will check out some more of your videos now I’m now on my dinner break 👍🏽😀🎣😀🎣👍🏽
yes indeed epic fishing ..matches anywhere in the world really. The sea bass though related to the perch genus is truely stands out as a game fish..
A Q..why did u modify the trebles obviously it didnt effect the performance of the lure. and was it in Essex?
I had a few bass that needed releasing but impaled on the middle treble. It's a compramise because the lure Doesn't act as well. But hook ups seem to not be effected. All work in progress will see how 2019 goes
Fantastic catch!
Thank you very much!
That’s top notch angling ! I only have one year left in the uk and a double on lure is still my target
Ah thanks sir but I rode my luck a little on 16lb leader. Good luck in your pursuit don't cast too far😉
My only double on bait came 2ft from the rocks
Omg absolutely wonderful 👍
A powerhouse I can still remember like yesterday
