    One thing I can't help but wondering. Can the area above the engines tilt up? What I'm getting at is what do you do if you need an engine out service? Is it possible to lift the rear deck like a big hatch?

    This second cabin looks great for a playroom for toddlers during boat party day trips, among family and friends.
    The couch looks great for somewhere to sit while keeping an eye on them as well as a good nappy (AKA diaper) changing area...Well, maybe not enough room.

    Hugo, might you have a comment for us about availability of this 'entry level' Princess? Placing an order now, are we likely to be waiting 18-24 months (or even longer)? Surely an example of its popularity (and limited production allocation by Princess). Thanks for the tour!

    Absolutely beautiful both interior, and exterior look.
    Putting the sink in the corner is a smart use of space, if maybe a challenge for maintenance, particularly with the drawers to the side of it, unless they detach easily.
    Also, I'm very happy to see that there doesn't seem to be any TV or sockets or any other electrical equipment around the cooker, as steam and splashes from cooking happen on land, so I can just imagine how inevitable an electrical fire or at least short circuit, would be on other boats that don't have this fairly obvious attention to detail. Well done Princess Yauct design team.
    I wonder if the creaking problem could be fixed with the cockpit barbecue area, without constant WD-40.

  • @CM-he8ni
    @CM-he8ni Před rokem

    Excellent, but should have a generator? Climate control in the second cabin and on deck is a must? The small bench in the second cabin is really not needed and a more imaginativeness of the space is needed?

  • @brickisland6353

    I think this boat will reach almost 40 knots with that engine configuration. The once with double 340 are supposed to get 33-35 knots easy.

    • @AB-80X
      @AB-80X Před rokem

      Not even close, he's spot on. Had a good long test in one in the fall in virtually perfect conditions, and it was 34.8 with a good amount of fuel and five people. With less fuel and only two, I'd say it's good for 35-35.5. Best I've ever seen in my friends boat with the 340's are 33.7 nearly empty. The 340 hp setup runs about 32 on average.

    I love this boat and was very tempted to buy one, but a few things turned me off. I live in Thailand where it's very hot all year round and you can't air-con the cockpit as there's no partition. The accommodation is horrible in sports-cruisers, dark and dingy and was almost never used in my old Princess 36 Riviera.
    I noticed how you struggled to open and close many doors/hatches and the vanity door you gave up on closing completely, fit & finish not up to scratch?
    I ordered a Bavaria R40 Fly instead, which has the same size, draft (important in my case) engines/performance, biggest genny/air-con package for less than a V40 but with two large double cabins, two proper bathrooms, wiched BBQ/wetbar over the platform and a flybridge, BUT the lead time is 20 months......

    I'm always intrigued at who would spend nearly 600K on such a tiny little boat when they could have a far larger , far nicer and far more stylish one for the same money thats ten years or twenty years old . Huge bargains to be had out there if you buy wisely . Seems very odd to me but I suppose people on the "hamster wheel " have an obsession with new shiny objects regardless.

    • @PhilbyFavourites
      @PhilbyFavourites Před 2 lety +6

      Trust me currently owning an 11 year old powered vessel there is a lot of upgrading and occasional faults that pop up.
      My car choices run to 18 months old and let the previous owner take the VAT hit etc. the same works for motorbikes. So be very careful when you refer to this as a “tiny little boat”. I went over this exact boat at this show. Tiny it is not. Your wallet may be large, but if you buy £600k’s worth of Fairline Squadron 58 that’s 15 years old you will be pouring money into it through Setag and other upgrade specialists.
      My fault finding on this very well put together vessel was that the helm was cramped and with that sunroof closed it was impossible to get comfortable for a 6’3” individual. And on a personal preference helming with your head poking out of a sunroof just makes you look cheap. The rest was well thought out and don’t forget once you push past 45’ you are going to hard pressed to rock up at a marina without pre booking. And honestly, how many beds do you need? While you’re stressing over berthing the other 8 family members (or hangers on) are genuinely not caring about you because you’re just the taxi driver…..
      Let us know what your most recent hamster wheel purchase was, we’d be intrigued.

      @TheIdontcarewhat Před 2 lety +3

      I would be one of those new boat buyers. Yes I understand new or old boats will have issues no way around that. I would just rather know that all the issues are what I or the manufacturer put there lol and that for the first year or so I have a manufacturer to help sort out the issues that were not of my doing.
      I don't honestly think there is a wrong way to go about getting a boat you like so to each their own I say.

    • @justinlinnane8043
      @justinlinnane8043 Před 2 lety +2

      @@TheIdontcarewhat of course it must be a great feeling to have a brand new boat and I can appreciate the appeal. I just prefer classic vehicles of any kind if i'm honest and actually like the style and patina of vintage originality( as long as previous owners have done meticulous maintenance ) I also like to buy rarer examples that nearly always appreciate in value over my ownership . For instance an early 2000's mint condition Guy Couach 2200 fly is around 350K or less at the moment . A far better experience all round I Ithink and for half the price

    • @PhilbyFavourites
      @PhilbyFavourites Před 2 lety +1

      @@justinlinnane8043 you’re a braver man than me Gunga Din if you buy one of those. I just had to Google it, it’s a monster and the upkeep would be exorbitant! But….. you could swing your Hymer on a set of davits from the stern and have your very own super yacht 🤣👍🏻👍🏻

    • @darthkek1953
      @darthkek1953 Před 2 lety +2

      @@justinlinnane8043 you fundamentally misunderstand how to view these purchases, you do NOT pay the boat cost, that's a fallacy. Ultimately you pay the DEPRECIATION + COSTS. On a new boat those costs are for running the ship: fuel and berthing, insurance, etc., on older vessels those running costs are the same PLUS maintenance PLUS upgrades. The final "real life" cost of having owned a new boat isn't as dramatically different as the headline figure, you MUST include upgrades and fixes - things you don't worry about on a new boat.

  • @coalitionperformance5901
