Good laptops keep getting more and more expensive, but as a result cheaper laptops keep getting better. Here's my review of the Lenovo IdeaPad 5, does this have what it takes to be the ultimate budget laptop? Let's see what Lenovo has to offer.

I use the idea pad 1 and it's pretty good for a lot of things. With a powerful CPU it can process quite a number of softwares. Lenovo's series of the idea pad is really powerful

Yeah, i bought one last summer. 14 inch I7 16gb model. I had max out model. Installed arch linux on it.
The laptop is amazing, but the battery, 94% health, sometimes i have 40 days uptime and it still holds around 6-8 hours(depending on what im doing).

Watching this on my Ideapad 5 2022 rerelease. Ryzen 7 5700u AMD Radeon Graphics - Vega 8. 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, 2GB VRAM. 8Cores 16 Threads.

Loved that intro keyboard shot! Lenovo keyboards are great! This is such a great laptop for the price! The only thing holding it back in my opinion is the low brightness display but that is excusable for the price! Great video Johannes-sama! 😁

Impressed with the battery life for a Lenovo
All my previous Lenovo’s (1 haha, so can’t really say much) had TRASH battery life and that’s one of the reasons I got a Mac!
I bought the 14-inch i5 1135G7 with 8GB RAM (14ITL05) a month ago as a backup (for Forex trading) and travel computer.
At first, I loved the performance (faster than my still functional ASUS i7 4700HQ with 16GB RAM, SSD and GTX850M) but the colour balance of the display was so much warmer than my 17-inch ASUS, that I wasn't happy. Then I discovered the free Calibrize software, used it and now I love it. No reflections, bright enough with acceptable colours. Haven't done much gaming on it, but it did much better than I expected in online gaming. Great speakers too.
A solid, sturdy yet not very heavy, great performer at a good price.

@@nestiv2550 Yes, it does have a backlit keyboard. You can switch the backlighting on/off.
It is better for gaming, than I initially thought it would be, but still it is NOT a proper gaming computer.

My mom gave this to me for my 16th birthday, it’s my first pc that I actually own.
This pc impressed me because mine with an I5 on it can become a vr ready pc. The way it works is that it has a hard time loading something but once it is in. It works perfectly. Wasn’t expecting it to handle vr.

same dude wishing i got one with a better graphics or even the g7 but it runs very well ... got it for 430 on backmarket if anybody is looking the raise and lower prices so dont be anxious if its not that low.

Funny enough I'm actually running the apps on their own, not through the Adobe suite, I think the i3 is pretty underrated, and it's got 8GB DDR4 RAM and an SSD so there isn't too much stress on the CPU.
My laptop had an i7 and was pretty slow in handling some things, but once I switched to an SSD and got some more RAM, a lot changed
Would this be good enough for a basic music recording software on it?
Thanks for the info, I'm not a techie and have no idea what all the SSD GB's or other specs mean. Im updating my older HP laptop and looking into Lenovo, I heard that it is a good laptop for what need. Music, email, youtube, and some news. I will purchase the 15.6 version.
I hope you are happy with your purchase. SSD is a name for a type of hard driver, the other common type is HDD. HDD is very very slow (and kinda outdated) and is only be used rarely nowadays, you get them comparibly cheap but when buying a laptop you should always get one with a SSD. For normal use anything over 250 GB storage on your SSD should be enough. For better understanding: on 1GB you can put about 200 picture taken by your phone.

Hey, what's the fan noise like? I always find it really annoying when laptop fans go full jet engine when I'm just browsing the web.
I haven't heard its fan for months now. It only comes on when working very, very hard.
