Porter was so cute in those days. He did a wonderful job of letting all his guests have their time. Guess that is why his show lasted for 21 years! I don't think he was given all the praise and recognition he truly deserved. Love Porter

Bill Anderson's talent has been too long overlooked! He should have had his own show decades ago.

Porter is so cute in these early shows and he carried it on for 21 years. Awesome. He never really got the praise he deserved. He unselfishly gave all due respect to his guests. Love Porter.

@@TimL2005 Then it must have been regional. I never saw it on the west coast. But we never had any of the top C&W shows, either, bc the best were all regional. All L.A. ever got was "Country Music Time" which was fine, but never featured any top names. And that was only a half hour, followed by another half hour of jesus screamers and church whackos. And there were only two radio stations, KFOX (Long Beach) and KWOW (Pomona), both with hideous programming.

@@rhodawurgler2755 I always believed if anything stifled Porter Wagoner's career advancements, it was his unwillingness to part with his old-school hairdos and corny glitter outfits. And that was a tragic shame, because he had one of the most incredible male voices in the entire music industry.
