Great series of videos. I just benched watched all of the ones related to this rebuild. Nicely done!
I need to search eBay for that manual/kit for rebuilding one. I am considering buying the same lathe...

If it ain't broke don't fix it Jr. Clean it, oil it and run it.

Those bearings on the spindle look fine. I've seen far worse. Mine looked about the same.

last year I watched, rewatching....I have a 1942 13" SB toolroom.....motor went bad, a Fairbanks Morse....1 hp.....put a newer 1.5 hp Lincoln Electric motor on it, and ran on vid 3ph to 3 ph always at 60 hz, but motor failed at 20 hors. not sure what is up......cheers, hope to see more of your videos.....Paul in Orlando,,, I assume you have the cast iron bearings in the head stock....I do, and it is amazing how pristine the spindle is.....a few marks, I need to put oilers in the caps, because I do not want to tear into and put new felts....

The spendle is a mt 4 in the older version which I have 1 7/8" spendle size. Later they made a larger spendle and I'm not sure if it is a mt4 or bigger

@@restoration-projects Thank you very very much for your consideration and reply. That is the exact information I need. Spindle adapters for collets are not cheap and I would hate to get it wrong. God bless you.
